Remember this hit from 1998/1999? The song scored top 10 on the Hot AC chart and (I think) came close to or in fact charted in the top 50 on the pop chart.
I liked the song when it was out. It sounded really good and different from other stuff on the radio.

This was a huge international hit but, yeah, it didn't do well in the US.
I love it!

One of my favorite songs of 1999! I have the CD single. One of my friends asked, "Why is she singing about a woman?" :)

I loved this and was upset that it didn't make the Top 40, even though Rick Dees put it at #25 or so on one of his specials. This was my #11 song of 1999.

I used to think it was cool since my sister's name is Maria.

meh, the song never really appealed to me. Although, since it's from the 1998/99 era, I have fond memories of it. :)

I think this song peaked at #10 on the Hot AC chart. Can't remember for sure though.

It's unfortunate that this song didn't do better. I really liked Deborah Harry's vocals on this one. Although this is not my fave song from Blondie, it's not bad. This song was also a minor hit in the clubs and on the Maxi Singles Sales chart.

Despite not liking most of their late 70's/80's songs, I do like "Maria"

Not a bad song. It was catchy and I saw it on VH1 quite a bit. I prefer their 1980s stuff and Debbie Harry's hits from 1986.

Maria got to #82 on the Hot 100 in 1999 but hit #1 in the UK

It was catchy, but miles from their 70's/80's days.

Incredible and sounds so timeless. Amazing this was a UK #1 in 1999, what a comeback!

I remember being so incredibly bummed when this didn't hit the Pop chart. My local CHR station played it all the time so every week I kept waiting for it to be in the top 40. At least it did well at HAC.

This is ok. Not their best by any means, but a good enough return song.

This was featured in a Vodafone commercial back then and I remember it being massive in Italy. It's very catchy.
Sara Bareilles' "Eyes on You" has a similar guitar riff on the opening.

This song is so good. And Deborah Harry is so sexy in the video. I donβt know why the gays donβt pay her more dues. Everything about the song is fire.

The album wasn't a win, but this is incredible. Captured the magic of their heyday, which wasn't an easy task. Love the chorus and the lyrical callback to Autoamerican.
