That's right - flashback to one of the best mid-90s pop/rock bands!!! Man, I really liked this song a lot. In fact, I liked all of Gin Blossoms hits!

I have nothing against this song, but for me it marked the beginning of the unfortunate changes in pop radio in the mid 90's. This was a song that my pop station absolutely refused to let go of, virtually ignoring the two follow-up singles, keeping it on their playlist for almost a full year. That was unheard of in 1994, but all too common now.
My favorite song by this group was "Allison Road".

Excellent pop/rock song. Good melody and wasn't over the top.

I loved basically all of the Gin Blossoms singles.
Are they still together?

according to an unofficial website, 4 out of 5 from the group re-united and are touring (this news was posted in August of this year, so it may still be true) on the song i liked it, overall one of the best songs

Good song... set a record for most top 40 entries/re-entries (four) during a single chart run on the Hot 100.

It's going for adds on Michael's Top 40 in a few weeks! I bought the CD used earlier this year so that's why. LOL! I like it though but 'Allison Road' is my favourite from them!

I loved it. (Gee, what a shock in this topic! ) This was my absolute favorite song growing up. Of course, I still like it to this day. I bought the CD "New Miserable Experience" a few years ago, and I finally listened to it a while back. It was pretty good, but not as good as I expected. That country song at the end wasn't that good.

And don't forget, it was the highest re-entry (something like #17) on the R&R charts.
This was one of my favorite songs of 1994. It brings back great memories of that summer, as does "Until I Fall Away."

It had an incredibly long chart run. Falling out of the top 10, and the holding steady was virtually unheard of in the pre-PPW era. Also the 4 place drops were also a rarity. Here's its' chart run. 34-30-27-22-14-11-8-6-8-9-15-15-16-20-25-29-39-off-17.
The re-entry at number 17 was the debut of PPW.

If there'd've been a recurrent rule, that'd make sense. But since one wasn't in place at the time, I didn't understand.

From them I've heard "Hey Jealousy", this song, "Until I Hear it From You", and "Follow You Down".
I'd rank those four like this:
1. This song 2. "Follow You Down" (overplay drags it down) 3. "Until I Hear it From You" 4. "Hey Jealousy" (don't really like this one)
I really like both this and "Follow You Down", but as I said, overplay of the latter is a drag. Oddly, Joe FM has never played (or if they have, I've never heard so) "Until I Hear it From You".[/font]

There were several songs that suddenly disappeared from the chart from way up in the Top 20 in 1994. They must have had their own recurrent rule back then, but not in writing.

I was/am a huge fan of theirs, and I think, if I were pressed to choose a favorite from them, this would be it. "Til I Hear It From You," despite its cheese, would be a close runner-up.

This is one of those songs I'm pretty much always in the mood for. I discovered it a decade ago and while it was a favorite then, I enjoy it even more now. Maybe that's because as an adult, I can relate to the lyrics a lot more.
