I remember one of the Official Spice Girls books or magazines suggested you play "Mama" for your mum on Mother's Day! Did anyone ever do so? What was her reaction? The music video for the song was very heartfelt. All the Spice mummies were in the audience and such. I think the mums held a photo of each Spice Girl as a baby too. The "Mama" single was a double A-side with "Who Do You Think You Are" (for Comic Relief) in the UK. It went to #1! "Back then I didn't know why, why you were misunderstood, So now I see through your eyes, All that you did was love, Mama I love you, Mama I care, Mama I love you, Mama my friend, My friend." Many mums loved this song on the "Spice" CD! No wonder they were happy their kids were listening to it. There were rumors going around that there would be a song called "Daddy" or "Papa" on the "Forever" album.

It was probably my favourite of theirs from this album.

I remember one of my nieces had the Spice Girls video of one of their concerts (not "Spiceworld") and they would watch that over and over again. What scared me is that they would sing along to that song a whole lot. Then I discovered that after more than 1000 plays of that video, my VCR stopped working. But I must admit it's most touching and enduring than anything I've heard.

Nope, on Mother's Day we usually play The Mummers' Dance.

Probably one of their worst songs. In terms of Spice ballads 'Viva Forever' and '2 become 1' are far superior.

I looooooove them, there's almost no song I don't like of the Spice Girls. "Spice" was chalked fulled of wonderful pop.

A great song, did it ever get released to US radio? It should have! If it was, then it didn't make the Top 40 - it's not listed on the Archive site.

Back then I loved it so much, now I find the song quite cheesy... but I still think that it's decent.

Based on the strength of their first 3 US singles, when I heard this, I thought, "This is kiddie fodder. What garbage."

When I saw this thread, I had to get out my single and listen to it again. "Mama I love you. Mama I care. Mama I love you. Mama, my friend."

lol I think I remember one of the Spice Girls' old singles playing during part of the vid. I have no idea what the song was called. It was slowish.

If this had been released as a first single from one of their CDs, I'm sure it would've made the Top 40.

It's such a cheesy song. I liked it at the time, but looking back, it's the only track off of Spice that isn't timeless.

No, this WAS the song from the Kels sex tape. It was NOT "Say You'll Be There." When I heard this song on youtube, I recognized it.
