ATL is only getting plays from one station (or at least, it was last week when it was in the New & Active)... Not that I'm complaining; it's the best song I've heard from them...

1. A MONTH LONG #1: Jason Aldean is the first artist this year to have a four week #1 hit as Big Green Tractor stays there for that long. It now ties Craig Morgan's That's What I Love About Sunday for its stay at the top on the Broken Bow Records label. It is the first time since February, 2008 when Brad Paisley reigned for four weeks with Letter To Me. 2. SWIFT UNINTERRUPTED: Taylor Swift continues her march up the charts to #25 with Fifteen. Take that, Kanye! 3. CARRIE'S COWBOY: Carrie Underwood goes up eight spots to #18 with Cowboy Casanova. Last week she got the Greatest Gainer Award. This week she gets the Most Increased Audience Award. 4. FINDING HIS VOICE: Tim McGraw debuts at #49 with Southern Voice, the title track to his upcoming CD. This comes a week after the first single, It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You peaked at #13. You would think that after charting seven songs from the same CD for two years and not releasing a new studio album for two and a half years, McGraw would have had a #1 hit (or at least a top five). But, as he found out, it was not all pleasure or business! 5. EVERYWHERE WITH VASSAR: Another artist debuting a second single from an upcoming CD is Phil Vassar. Everywhere I Go lands at #56 this week. It is the follow up to Bobbi With An I that peaked at #46 this year. 6. THE RECENT TOP SELLING CDS: Let us see who had the #1 selling CDs from one to five years ago: 2008: Now That's What I Call Country-Various-UMG 2007: Taylor Swift-Taylor Swift-Big Machine-take that, Kanye! 2006: Me And My Gang-Rascal Flatts-Lyric Street 2005: Hillbilly Deluxe-Brooks & Dunn-Arista 2004: Live Like You Were Dying-Tim McGraw-Curb

Rowdawg21 is correct as usual; 'The More Boys I Meet' was never released as a single.
The only reason that it even made Billboard's chart was because a handful of statiions (including KSON & KUSS, both in San Diego), started playing it as an album track after 'Just A Dream' went recurrent, and subsequently refused to play 'I Told You So' when it was released.
KSON eventually added 'ITYS' after it cracked the top ten, but the initial resistance from those two stations made it that much harder for 'ITYS' to reach #1.
It nevertheless continued to rise up the charts, and eventually reached #1 @ Country Aircheck despite a slight drop in both spins and points that particular week, and then plunged from #1 to #8 the following week, losing a worst-of-the-decade 1107 spins (for a song falling out of the #1 slot) in the process.

1. SMALL TOWN #1: Justin Moore collects his first chart topping hit with Small Town USA. It is the second number one hit on the Valory label following Jimmy Wayne's Do You Believe Me Now from last year. 2. SPEAKING OF WAYNE: Hall and Oates, the #1 pop duo of all time, makes their country chart debut with Wayne on their remake of the #4 pop single in 1976, Sara Smile. It is at #51. 3. ANOTHER MOST INCREASED AUDIENCE: For the second week in a row, Carrie Underwood gets the Most Increased Audience Award and moves up to #11 with Cowboy Casanova. 4. ZAC'S TOES: The Zac Brown Band does not have their 'ass in the sand' as Toes becomes their third top ten hit at #9 with as many singles. It joins the #1 Chicken Fried and the #2 Whatever It Is. 5. COINCIDENCE?: Rascal Flatts' Summer Nights spent its final week on the charts during the last week of summer. 6. BLAME IT ON JOEY: After three consecutive #1 hits, Joey by Sugarland falls from #17 to #25. Those chart topping hits were: All I Want To Do (2008), Already Gone (2009), and It Happens (2009). The last duo to have three consecutive chart topping hits is Brooks & Dunn. Those hits were: Ain't Nothing 'Bout You (2001), Only In America (2001), and The Long Goodbye (2002). 7. GOING OUT ON TOP: Brooks & Dunn's #1s And Then Some becomes their sixth chart topping CD after selling 55,000 copies in its first week. The others: 1. Waitin' On Sundown-1994 2. Borderline-1996 3. Steers & Stripes-2001 4. Red Dirt Road-2003 5. Hillbilly Deluxe-2005 6. #1s And Then Some-2009 8. FALL TIME #1S: These were the first chart topping hits during the autumns of 2004, 1999, 1994, 1989, and 1984: 2004: Days Go By-Keith Urban-Capitol 1999: Something Like That-Tim McGraw-Curb 1994: Third Rock From The Sun-Joe Diffie-Epic 1989: Above And Beyond-Rodney Crowell-Columbia-the record breaking fifth #1 from Diamonds & Dirt! 1984: Let's Chase Each Other Around The Room-Merle Haggard-Epic

^ "Cowboy Casanova" has been the greatest gainer for 3 weeks now. Or do you just count those weeks from a non-zero basepoint?

But just because a song is GG for 3 weeks in a row doesn't mean it wasn't #1 for 2 weeks in a row as well. Franklin D Roosevelt was the only President of the US to be elected 3 times, right? Also 4 times, but that doesn't make it false that he was elected 3 times. And Jason Aldean just had a 3-week #1 song that was also a 4-week #1 song. It's a little bit tricky, but I'm sure we can get used to it. It's History!

^And Clint Black/Steve Wariner's "Been There" was greatest gainer for three weeks in a row, but it ran into a brick wall at #5.

One can say that everytime a song debuts in the top 60, it could be a hot shot debut, a most increassed audience, or a most added song. However, in the case of Carrie Underwood's Cowboy Casanova that would be the case. She has been on the charts for three weeks now (chart run: 26-18-11-? for next week) and has won the most increased audience award (or greatest gainer) for three weeks now. As leilamaurizia has pointed out, I do count those weeks from a non-zero basepoint, meaning that the week BEFORE Underwood debuted, she was at zero spins and zero audience. That would mean that other hot shot debuts could have the most increased audience award as well because they were not being heard the week before. That is not always the case because when Randy Houser was at #2 with Boots On, he actually got the most increased audience award. However, it did not translate into a #1 hit, though. I only start to mention that in my Country ChartBeat when the single is on the charts for at least three weeks and gets the m.i.a. award on multiple occasions!

1. RIDING TO #1: Toby Keith collects his 19th #1 hit with American Ride. He was recently honored as the songwriter/artist of the decade. It is appropriate that he won that honor as he will be the one with the most chart toppers this decade with sixteen. They are: 1. How Do You Like Me Now-2000 2. You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This-2001 3. I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight-2001 4. I Wanna Talk About Me-2001 5. My List-2002 6. Courtesy Of The Red, White, And Blue The Angry American-2002 7. Who's Your Daddy-2002 8. Beer For My Horses-with Willie Nelson-2003-chart-wise, his biggest hit 9. I Love This Bar-2003 10. American Soldier-2004 11. Whiskey Girl-2004 12. As Good As I Once Was-2005 13. Love Me If You Can-2007 14. She Never Cried In Front Of Me-2008 15. God Love Her-2009 16. American Ride-2009 Since Keith has the most #1s this decade, let us list those with the most chart toppers by decade since the 1940s: 1940s: Eddy Arnold-11 1950s: Webb Pierce-13 1960s: Buck Owens-19 1970s: Conway Twitty-25 1980s: Alabama-26 1990s: George Strait and Garth Brooks-17 2000s: Toby Keith-16 Pretty heady company if you ask me! 2. YOUNG EQUALS JEWELL: Chris Young, the 2006 Nashville Star winner picks up three to #3 as Gettin' You Home The Black Dress Song equals the chart achievement of the 2003 winner, Buddy Jewell. He had two songs that peaked at #3: Help Pour Out The Rain Lacey's Song in 2003 and Sweet Southern Comfort in 2004. 3. 'COUNTRY' MUSIC: There are five songs in the top 60 with the word 'country' in them. They are: 1. That's How Country Boys Roll by Billy Currington-#33 2. A Little More Country Than That by Easton Corbin-#38 3. Country Folks Livin' Loud by the Lost Trailers-#39 4. Ride Through The Country by Colt Ford and John Michael Montgomery-#57 5. Country Livin' by Williams Riley-#60 4. BOLOGNA AND BEER: Sounds like a winning snack to me, but on the charts Alan Jackson is at #36 with I Still Like Bologna while Josh Thompson is at #37 with Beer On The Table. 5. OPPOSITES ATTRACT: Miranda Lambert is at #31 with White Liar while Jason Aldean is at #42 with The Truth. 6. A BIG WEEK: Big & Rich released their greatest hits CD this week. Big Kenny is at #43 with Long After I'm Gone. 7. A 70'S LOOK: These were the top singles during the last week of September during the 1970s: 1970: There Must Be More To Love Than This-Jerry Lee Lewis-Mercury 1971: Easy Loving-Freddie Hart-Capitol 1972: I Ain't Never-Mel Tillis-MGM 1973: Blood Red And Goin' Down-Tanya Tucker-Columbia 1974: I'm A Ramblin' Man-Waylon Jennings-RCA 1975: Daydreams About Night Things-Ronnie Milsap-RCA 1976: Here's Some Love-Tanya Tucker-MCA 1977: Daytime Friends-Kenny Rogers-United Artists 1978: Heartbreaker-Dolly Parton-RCA 1979: It Must Be Love-Don Williams-MCA

In regards to the #1s for Toby Keith, it's notable that of the 16 total, 11 came during the first half of the decade, 2000 to 2004, and only 5 were earned during the last half, 2005 to 2009. That shows just how much, like Tim McGraw, he cooled off in his #1 production. If he had been able to keep up that breakneck pace early on, he'd be up to 25 career #1s by now.

That's what happens when you have to break things down by decades. Tim McGraw, for example, starting having big hits in 1994 so his 90's decade started late, and stopped having as many of them before the end of this decade. You could find a ten year period -- say, 1995-2004 -- in which Tim put up some remarkable numbers. I'm not about to spend time on that, but I think his 1995-2004 was more impressive than TK's best ten years, not that Toby's were bad. Similarly I think Chesney would fare well if you started a decade for him in 2002. That period is not over yet, of course. But Toby's big breakout with How Do You Like Me Now was just about perfectly timed for the 2000-2009 period. Nothing wrong with doing a by-the-decade look, but it does artificially make TK's career look better and Tim/Kenny look worse than they actually are.

Didn't all three of them have their first top single and first #1 single within 18 months of each other?
Tim couldn't do anything wrong during that 1995-2004 timeline which Zazie alluded to; his scorecard @ R&R showed him missing the top five once (Some Things Never Change), and another streak in which he went almost eleven years between missing the top ten ('Indian Outlaw' to 'Drugs Or Jesus') was equally spectacular.

To answer Marv's question: I will do it in chronological order of the artist's first #1 hit. Ready? Toby Keith-first top ten and first #1-Should've Been A Cowboy in 1993 Tim McGraw-first top ten-Indian Outlaw in 1994 and first #1-Don't Take The Girl in 1994 Kenny Chesney-first top ten-Fall In Love in 1995 and first #1-She's Got It All in 1997 I hope this was helpful today!

1. TOBY'S YEAR LONG RIDE: Toby Keith spends a second week at #1 with American Ride. In the process, he becomes the 16th artist to spend at least 52 weeks at #1 with his chart topping hits. The songs and weeks at #1 are: 1. Should've Been A Cowboy-1993-2-the 90s most played song 2. Who's That Man-1994-1 3. Me Too-1997-1 4. How Do You Like Me Now-2000-5 5. Love Me If You Can-2007-1 17. She Never Cried In Front Of Me-2008-1 18. God Love Her-2009-1 19. American Ride-2009-2 Now, let us update the list of those artists that have spent at least a year on top of the country singles chart. ARTIST-WEEKS AT #1-#1 HITS 1. Eddy Arnold-145-28 2. Webb Pierce-111-13 3. George Strait-84-44 4. Hank Williams, Sr.-82-11 5. Buck Owens-82-21 6. Johnny Cash-69-14 7. Sonny James-66-23 8. Tim McGraw-65-21 9. Marty Robbins-63-16 10. In other Keith news, he debuts the following titles on the charts: 1. Every Dog Has Its Day-#56 2. Cryin' For Me Wayman's Song-#58 3. If I Had One-#59 2. THE KING OF TOP TENS: Toby Keith has the most #1s this decade with sixteen. However, he only has 25 top ten hits. Kenny Chesney collects his 28th top ten hit this decade with I'm Alive with Dave Matthews at #9. Chesney's top tens this decade are: 1. What I Need To Do-2000-#8 2. I Lost It-2000-#3 3. Down The Road-with Mac McAnally-2009-#1 27. Out Last Night-2009-#1 28. I'm Alive-with Dave Matthews-2009-current top ten 3. TWANG REDUX: George Strait re-enters the charts with Twang at #45. It had originally peaked at #51. 4. GOING BACK TO 1995: While doing research on Strait, I found the following to be ironic. Here is a partial list of #1 hits from 1995: Dust On The Bottle-David Lee Murphy-MCA Check Yes Or No-George Strait-MCA Had Living For The Night hit #1, Strait would have succeeded Murphy as a songwriter. It was Murphy's Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean that kept George at bay. 5. HE IS HARDY: Tracy Lawrence has spent 20 weeks on the charts with Up To Him. It moves up three to #51. It had peaked at #47. 6. A 70'S LOOK, PART II: Last week the top singles during the last week of September were revealed. 1. A NASHVILLE STAR IS (FINALLY) BORN: Here is a list of winners of the TV show Nashville Star. Tell me if ALL names look familiar to you. 2003-Buddy Jewell 2004-Brad Cotter 2005-Erika Jo 2006-Chris Young 2007-Angela Hacker 2008-Melissa Lawson The 2006 winner is the first contestant to land a #1 hit this week as Gettin' You Home The Black Dress Song reaches the top. As far as Nashville Star is concerned, Jewell remains the first contestant and winner to land a top ten hit, the #3 Help Pour Out The Rain Lacey's Song in 2003. On the American Idol side of country, let us list three firsts for that show: 1. First contestant with a top ten hit-Josh Gracin-I Want To Live-#4 in 2004. 2. First contestant with a #1 hit-Gracin-Nothin' To Lose-#1 in 2005. 3. First winner with a #1 hit-Carrie Underwood-Jesus, Take The Wheel-#1 in 2006. To this year's winner of the sexiest bachelor in Country Weekly, I must say Mr. Young, having the #1 hit in America DOES make you look hot! 2. THE QUEEN OF TOP TENS: Last week I had said that Toby Keith has the most #1s this decade with 16 while Kenny Chesney has the most top tens this decade with 28. However, Carrie Underwood landed her tenth top ten last week with Cowboy Casanova (#6 this week). She leads the list for female artists in two other categories: most #1s (seven) and the most time at #1 with her songs (22 weeks). Her hit list this decade is: 1. Jesus, Take The Wheel-2006-#1 for 6 weeks-chart wise, her biggest hit 2. Don't Forget To Remember Me-2006-#2 3. Before He Cheats-2006-#1 for 5 weeks 4. Wasted-2007-#1 for 3 weeks 5. So Small-2007-#1 for 3 weeks 6. All-American Girl-2008-#1 for 2 weeks 7. Last Name-2008-#1 for 1 week 8. Just A Dream-2008-#1 for 2 weeks 9. I Told You So-with Randy Travis-2009-#2 10. Cowboy Casanova-2009-current top ten Considering she started her chart life in 2005, that is quite an accomplishment! 3. COWGIRLS DON'T CRY: They joined for a #2 hit earlier this year, but Reba McEntire is at #15 with Consider Me Gone while Brooks & Dunn are at #16 with Honky Tonk Stomp with Billy Gibbons. 4. #91: By moving to #34, George Strait lands his 91st top 40 hit with Twang. The top ten list of those with the most top 40 hits looks like this: 1. George Jones-145 2. Eddy Arnold-128 3. Johnny Cash-105 4. Waylon Jennings-92 5. Merle Haggard-92 6. George Strait-91 7. Dolly Parton-90 8. Conway Twitty-88 9. Webb Pierce-84 10. Marty Robbins-83 5. THEIR FIRST: I thought I would never say the following, but Hall and Oates collect their first country top 40 hit with Sara Smile with Jimmy Wayne at #36 this week. 6. GOING BACK IN TIME: These were the top singles during this week in 2004, 1999, 1994, 1989, and 1984: 2004: Suds In The Bucket-Sara Evans-RCA 1999: Something Like That-Tim McGraw-Curb 1994: She's Not The Cheatin' Kind-Brooks & Dunn-Arista 1989: Killin' Time-Clint Black-RCA 1984: Uncle Pen-Ricky Skaggs-Epic 7. MILESTONE TOP TEN CHART: A new feature in my Country ChartBeat will be showcasing a top ten chart saluting the accomplishment of an artist. The first one is: The number 21 is prominent in two ways: First, the top ten chart is from 21 years ago: the October 15, 1988 issue of Billboard. Second, it gave Buck Owens his 21st #1 hit, his first since 1972. It also gave him #1s in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. It gave Dwight Yoakam his first. The song was Streets Of Bakersfield and this is what the top ten chart looked like back then:
BILLBOARD TOP TEN FOR WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 15, 1988: 1. STREETS OF BAKERSFIELD-DWIGHT YOAKAM AND BUCK OWENS-REPRISE 2. Strong Enough To Bend-Tanya Tucker-Capitol 3. 1. WE CAN ONLY LOVE URBAN AT #1: Keith Urban collects his eleventh #1 hit with Only You Can Love Me This Way. In the process, he becomes the foreigner with the most #1 hits. The top five are: 1. Keith Urban-11-2001-2009 2. Anne Murray-10-1974-1986 3. Hank Snow-07-1950-1974 4. Shania Twain-07-1995-1998 5. Jamie O'Neal-02-2001 As far as 2009 is concerned, Urban is the first artist this year to have three #1 hits. They are: 1. Start A Band-with Brad Paisley 2. Sweet Thing 3. Only You Can Love Me This Way Throw in the #3 hit, Kiss A Girl and he becomes the first artist this year to have FOUR top ten hits. Way to go! Last year only Paisley (Letter To Me, I'm Still A Guy, and Waitin' On A Woman) and Carrie Underwood (All-American Girl, Last Name, and Just A Dream) had three chart toppers. 2. LET US CONTINUE: So far while reviewing this decade, we have awarded the following: 1. Male Artist with the most top tens-Kenny Chesney-28 2. Male Artist with the most #1s-Toby Keith-16 3. Female Artist with the most top tens-Carrie Underwood-10 4. Female Artist with the most #1s-Underwood-7 Now, let us salute the group with the most top tens (22) and #1s (10), Rascal Flatts. Their hit list this decade: 1. Prayin' For Daylight-2000-#3 2. This Everyday Love-2001-#9 3. While You Loved Me-2001-#7 4. I'm Movin' On-2002-#4 5. These Days-2002-#1 6. Love You Out Loud-2003-#3 7. I Melt-2003-#2 8. Mayberry-2004-#1 9. Feels Like Today-2004-#9 10. Bless The Broken Road-2005-#1-chart wise, their biggest hit 11. Fast Cars And Freedom-2005-#1 12. Skin Sarabeth-2005-#2 13. What Hurts The Most-2006-#1 14. Me And My Gang-2006-#6 15. My Wish-2006-#1 16. Stand-2007-#1 17. Take Me There-2007-#1 18. Winner At A Losing Game-2008-#2 19. Every Day-2008-#2 20. Here-2009-#1 21. Here Comes Goodbye-2009-#1 22. Summer Nights-2009-#2 If Why hits the top ten in November or December, they will simply extend their lead. 3. SHE'S THREE!: Taylor Swift is set to turn 20 this December. Her current single is about life at fifteen. However, her self-titled debut CD has spent 156 weeks (three years) on the charts this week. 4. A LITTLE LESS CONTROVERSY: Blake Shelton debuts at #51 with Hillbilly Bone. It features the vocals of Trace Adkins. It was Adkins' record label Capitol that threatened action against Ronnie Milsap and BLEVE Records on the song My First Ride. Hopefully, there will not be any backlash against Warner Bros. (Shelton's label), Shelton, or Adkins. Adkins (by himself) is at #17 with All I Ask For Anymore. 5. THREE FOR THREE: The Zac Brown Band lands in the top two for the third time with Toes (#2 this week). Chicken Fried was on its way to #1 a year ago. Their second single Whatever It Is was a #2 hit this year. 6. THE TOP SELLERS: These were the top selling CDs from 2004, 1999, 1994, 1989, and 1984: 2004: 50 Number Ones-George Strait-MCA 1999: Fly-the Dixie Chicks-Monument 1994: Stones In The Road-Mary Chapin Carpenter-Columbia 1989: Killin' Time-Clint Black-RCA 1984: City Of New Orleans-Willie Nelson-Columbia 7. MILESTONE TOP TEN CHART: Forty-one years ago this week, Eddy Arnold led the country charts for the 28th and final time with Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye. His first #1 came in 1947 with What Is Life Without Love. He became the second artist (after Al Dexter) to have the most #1 hits when A Heart Full Of Love For A Handful Of Kisses hit the top in 1948. He held the record for 32 years until Conway Twitty netted his 29th #1 hit with I'd Love To Lay You Down in 1980. This is what the chart looked like back then:

^My guess: The Detroit station. They play Kid Rock a lot too, including a live version of Picture with… Gretchen Wilson?!
