Assuming that this is somewhat of a trick question (clue), for 61 I'll say Puscifer - Queen B.

I'll post 64 if you don't mind the fact I Googled it.

I'll post 64 if you don't mind the fact I Googled it. Uh-oh. It was an extremely difficult question. Since I was *this close* to giving a hint for it, you can go ahead. Plus I want to get a move on with this contest, so....yeah. I edited the posts above to include more hints.

All I could think of for 70 was Metallica's "The Day that Never Comes," it doesn't seem to quite fit but with the new hint I figured I'd at least throw it out there.

^70 is correct. Aren't Metallica "legendary" by this point?

Five years just doesn't seem a lot compared to a different rock band who lots of rockers listen to. I wasn't even in kindergarten when GNR's last non-covers studio album was released and now I can buy alcohol legally, 'nuff said.

^70 is correct. Aren't Metallica "legendary" by this point? Well that part is definitely true, I was referring to the first clue. I mean, I don't think this was written to be a political song, and I don't know if describing the conflict as "The Day that Never Comes" is a fair assessment. So that kinda threw me off, but yeah at least I got it lol

I'm an idiot, I misread your clue for 64. I somehow missed the word "yielding" when I read over it. I was trying to think of a band that released an album called "Ridgemont" lol. Though the word used to replace it in the album title escapes me, I believe the song you're looking for is called "About A Girl" by The Academy Is...

Correct! That or "Fighting" might be the toughest of the set. ("Fighting" wasn't a single, "Lexington", I think, for its relative obscurity).

OK, another break between batches of songs calls for another award announcement. It seems that solo artists are a dying breed on charts these days, notably in the realm of Rawk. I feel that my chart, sometimes, features, sadly, a dearth of solo musicians. Among staple solo artists include, but are not limited to, Beck, Jack Johnson, Pete Yorn, and pseudonyms like Nine Inch Nails and Jack's Mannequin. This year featured a number of staple artists achieving prominence on the jdmasta289 musical chart. Beck scored a minor hit in "Chemtrails" and another extremely minor one in "Gamma Ray", while Jack Johnson hung around the chart for awhile with "If I Had Eyes", which is his ninth top 40 hit. However, no artist achieved more success in 2008 than ex-System of a Down co-frontman - in my opinion, the better singer of the two co-frontmen of that disbanded group - Serj Tankian. Serj scored a #1 hit last year in "Empty Walls", which was the #76 song on the jdmasta289 chart. Serj also scored minorly with his follow-up, "Sky Is Over", and charted a somewhat unprecedented #1 song later in the year with "Lie Lie Lie." I will always listen to Serj and old System of a Down records for their political nature, much of which I agree with. Especially on latter records, they combined melody with fury quite well. Serj's recent record Elect The Dead is no different. Highly recommended. Serj Tankian: the Solo Artist of 2008.

60. This third single from a prominent rock band shares the title with a television drama series that follows the lives of plane crash survivors who land on a mysterious island. Coldplay - Lost (Matt4319)
59. This British artist scored a prominent, though sleeper, hit in 1997 on both the alternative and pop charts. They reunited and scored another minor hit this year. Verve - Love Is Noise (halo19)
58. The first single from this artist whose name bears the title of where sharp and flat bars are located on a piano. Black Keys - Strange Times (PHOBIA)
57. This second U.S. single from this prominent, critically acclaimed British artist bears the name of the antagonist in the Saw movie series. Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place (PHOBIA)
56. This post-hardcore band scored a minor hit in late 2006 and early 2007 with their debut, self-titled album. This activity, in the title of this song, is what two or more people do at night, in bed (no....the other thing). Sweet dreams! I'm ashamed to admit that I misspelled the title of this song throughout its entire chart run. Yay me! Saosin - Voices (P(A) = 0)
55. This 'supergroup' features members and former members of the Offspring, the Distillers, and a certain famous pop-punk trio. This is the second single from their latest release. Angels And Airwaves - Secret Crowds (PHOBIA)
54. The video to this first single features the band playing on a barren wasteland while they appear to be on fire. It features people running toward the band who appear to be skulls or demons. "I'm not insane." Avenged Sevenfold - Almost Easy (Matt4319)
53. This duo's third single features a song title that bears the name of an event which occurs often in history. Cristopher Columbus accomplished this event, as did Julius Caesar. White Stripes - Conquest (PHOBIA)
52. Being surrounded by flames. Disturbed - Inside The Fire (PHOBIA)
51. This second single was perhaps this quartet's best-performing Alternative rock song (chartwise) ever. Amazing, since the group formed in 1984 and first achieved prominence in 1994, as the post-grunge era and pop-punk era kicked in. Offspring - You're Gonna Go Far Kid (Matt4319)
Scoreboard
PHOBIA - 17 Made of Steel - 8 Cody - 5 P(A)=0 - 5 crve105 - 4 halo19 - 4 Matt4319 - 6 oscillations - 1

53. The White Stripes - Conquest Yeah, I was looking for something with "martyr" or "assassination" in the title. 52. Disturbed - Inside the Fire Oh... duhhh.

52. Disturbed - Inside the Fire Oh... duhhh. Haha, I had just saw the song was an answer to one of the clues on Picpak's chart, so it was still pretty fresh in my mind lol

55. Based solely on the "certain famous pop-punk trio" part of the clue, I'm guessing it's either +44 or Angels And Airwaves. And since +44's stuff is too old for this chart, I'm gonna say "Secret Crowds" by AVA.

56 is extremely difficult. I believe it was released as a single, but did almost nothing on the charts. It's by an emo/punk, post-hardcore group whose name sounds similar to 'ocean.' However, 'ocean' is only part of their name.

OK, another hint for 56....I'd like to get this batch done before tomorrow. The band's name is similar to the words "say" and "ocean". The song title is what people do at night.
