To test the waters. See how people would welcome Em back. It is also used to help re-established Dr. Dre and even 50 Cent. 50 Cent because his latest singles are not doing amazingly well, and Dre because he's been absent for so long. This is just to let everyone know that bigger and better things are coming from all three in 2009. True. But still he could have at least tested a quality track to make sure radio is eager to play him in the future. This isn't really anything special imo.

No. It isn't the first single. It is going for adds which was known all along...besides, many stations already added it anyways.

If it's going for adds, it's the first single. A promo rap single would not be going for adds on CHR.

If this song is being released to radio, how is it not a single? Whether it's included on the album or not will determine whether or not it's the "first" single. (obviously if it's not on the album, it can't be the first single... lol). Is that what you're saying? If not, I'm super confused....!

I'm saying the song leaked early with Eminem doing Dr. Dre's verse, and 50 Cent was not on it. Eminem was mad at this, but once the public started really digging it, he decided to finish it up, add 50, let Dre get on his verse and release it. Even once that happened, this was never confirmed to be a single or on the album. Like I said, Em just released it for buzz. Since many stations jumped on it, I guess they just decided to make it the first single, but deep down this isn't his TRUE return. It is now a single, but it was never intended to be first, and it isn't the ACTUAL Eminem solo single.

It is a single. Technically it is the first single from the album. But it is not Eminem's comeback single. More of a bonus track on the album, except not credited as a bonus track.

What a complicated way of putting it: if it's a hit, it will be considered the first single, if it flops it will appear as a bonus track at the end of the album (see "Radio" on Musiq's latest album).

The only way it's not the first single from the album is if this isn't even on the album, which if that's the case I have no idea why they would send it for adds.

What I am saying is while this is a single going for adds, it does not make it Eminem's first official single. A demo leaked, people liked it, Eminem finished it, and the label figured why not, send it for adds to give people a taste. What is so hard to understand about that?

I understand that it is the first single, but it isn't Eminem's first single.
Plus, there is still no any confirmation this will be on his album, although I'm sure it will be, at least in a bonus track form.

It is a song, going for adds. It is a single! The first one from whatever album it comes from, hence this = first single.

This reminds me of Usher's unexpected and supposedly rushed release of Love In This Club because it was leaked and radios liked it, but it was not originally planned as THE first single or Usher's new album. At the end, it became Usher's biggest hit of the album and now everyone and their mamas consider it as THE single of Usher, even if it included collabos.
Same here with Eminem. It was leaked, radio has embraced it turning it into a Top50 Pop single already, so they are sending it for adds hoping it will become successful. No matter if it is not successful, it already IS the FIRST single of Eminem's comeback.

So this is a fake return? Apparently so. ??? I didn't know just because you have a featured artist on your first single, it doesn't make it your "REAL" first single. I guess dozens of rappers don't have "real" first singles then. Not trying to be rude Love Hurts, but you're really making no sense. Eminem does not have to come out with a solo track for it to be his first single, first singles have featured artists on them ALL THE TIME.

You people are crazy lol.
I know this is the first single! But I don't consider a verse and a chorus to be his true return. His actual single with just him will be bigger & better.
