I doubt Mary has that much crossover success for this, but you guys don't think "Tonight" has the best chances of being a very solid hit on at least urban?

Tonight is listed on that website but I was told it was going to be Good Love. That was the album's original second single and T.I. shot his cameo prior to his jail stint.

They screw her singles up all the time. "Good love" is a flop and "Tonight" is a good album track but not a radio single. "In the morning" is a smash. If "it kills me" became huge then that will certainly be big for Mary. "kitchen" is also another hit on the album. The singles should have been..
The 1 Hood Love In The Morning Said and Done Kitchen

I know I'm late, but I just listened to the album in full last week and I was impressed. "Kitchen" is probably my fav. song.

The GRAMMYs Mary J. Blige and Andrea Bocelli will join forces and perform live together in a special fund-raising segment for Haiti relief on the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards. This once-in-a-lifetime performance of the Simon & Garfunkel classic "Bridge Over Troubled Water" will be made available for download at iTunes.com.../Target following the telecast, and all proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.

I know I'm late, but I just listened to the album in full last week and I was impressed. Same here. The album is not quite as strong as her last two efforts but it's yet another solid one for MJB. I am a bit worried that the album lacks hits but that's a nitpick considering how consistent her albums have been. She's not likely to have any more successes like The Breakthrough but I'm more than pleased that she's releasing quality work.

Mary is the Queen of Consistency. She doesn't really make bad albums, per se. Some are stronger than others but I would be very shocked if she released an actual BAD album. I am definitely in the minority of people who like her latter-day albums better than her so-called "classics", which had a lot of filler, IMO. I have never been depressed enough to enjoy My Life all the way through and I pretty much only liked the singles besides a few extra songs. I liked her debut but again, mostly the singles and her cover of Sweet Thing. Share My World to me was half filler but the songs that I liked I LOVED. It wasn't til Mary and No More Drama when I loved everyone of her albums.

What's with this thing that 'My Life' is about Mary's "life" or that it's a "depressing album"??? Nothing on that album screams any of that. It's filled with bangers and some love songs, but nothing that says, "Oh, Mary was getting beat up by KCi and she's venting." Sh!t, he even sang backup on that album. That's a misconception to me.

I love "Each Tear"-this song is great, also "I Am" and "We Got Hood Love" are amazing overall quite good album, though I prefer Growing Pains

"Color" is brilliant. Mary has had an incredible throwback vocal each of her last three albums ("I Found My Everything" and "Talk to Me" from The Breakthrough and Growing Pains respectively). "Color" fits the bill for this era.

"Color" fits the bill for this era. Yeah and Saadiq produced I Found My Everything as well! He brings out the best in Mary, it seems. I like the fact that she left all of her new vocal training outside the booth for Color. She keeps all the flaws in, which makes for a fascinating listen.

MJB is covering the infamous "Stairway To Haven" ok i did not see that coming , i hope this re-release minus some tracks sees the light of day in the U.S. i'm still quite pressed "Stronger" was cut.
this album is not nearly as bad as it was when i listened initially, i guess i was so turned off because she went way too mainstream. anyway i really like "Kitchen", "Each Tear", "I Am", "Good Love" and a couple of other tracks but i abhor that trash w/ Trey Songz. "Kitchen" is the sh!t though it's retro but current at the same time, Tricky & Dream did the damn thing yet again.

Why is she re-releasing this? I have not even started listening to the CD I bought. Maybe I should return it to the store and await the release of the re-release. I hate when artists UNNECESSARILY do this.

*sigh* Read the article! She's only re-releasing it internationally. This is not for the United States.

Haven't gotten this yet, but I plan on getting it soon. Listening to her music all morning from the first album down and Mary has always been one of my faves. Not one album I dislike!
