Update on the 'I AM' movie....Katharine does not have a role in the film. The promo music vid for the film "I AM" features Kat singing and clips from the movie. SG tune is heavily used throughout the film. Because of the subject matter of the movie, plot weaving around average ppl violating the Ten Commandments, the film will premier first at churches who have signed up to show the movie to their congregation in October, 10-10-10. It will eventually go to the general public thru DVD rental but not shown at the theaters. iamthemovie.com/The promo music video will be shown on TV in September.

Article from Popeater/Steve Baltin.
Kat Christmas Album
"The album, tentatively due in October, is still in the recording process, so the final track list has yet to be determined. Still, one song that should make the cut is an original by McPhee. At the moment we're doing some tweaking on the lyrics, so it could change, but right now it's 'It's Not Christmas Without You,'she says, noting she's excited to work on her songwriting chops. "I didn't set out to write something that could be on Top 40 radio. I wanted something that felt maybe just as classic as 'Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.' I'm not much of an up-tempo songwriter. I have a hard time writing songs that are up-tempo, so this one is a ballad, really beautiful melodically."

So, I guess since she's having new material released there's no chance of Terrified getting a shot. Oh, well. :(
I've always liked her, and it sucks to see her flopping so bad.

Your definition of flopping so bad, pls. She can't even manage to get 1 hit. I thought Had It All could've at least smashed. Her album didn't sell very good either. I like Katharine a lot so that's why I'm so upset to see her not having the success she deserves.

Thank you for your definition of flopping bad. Poor Unbroken sales and not having a #1 hit should not be the criteria for one to consider Kat as a flop.
I consider Kat to be successful in her own way. She is continually in the public eye--she done a number of concerts this summer and has other concerts scheduled in the Fall. I am sure her CD was bought by concert goers & has gained new fans. Kat this year has twice opened for Chris Botti and Toby Keith, performed at charity events, is Congra's spokeperson for the Feeding America's Children project, is associated with Wounded Warriors, wrote songs for her Unbroken album and is currently writing her original song for her Christmas album. Kat had a small part in Jane Fonda's upcoming film, 'Love, Peace & Misunderstanding' & her role in the movie, 'You May Not Kiss The Bride', has finished post-production and should be release soon. Kat co-wrote the song 'Beautiful Stranger which will feature in the movie. Kat's promo music video for the movie 'I AM' will feature 'Say Goodbye' from her Unbroken CD. Another 'Say Goodbye' music video will premier in the Fall.
Sure some Kat fans are upset & would love for her to have a #1 hit and sell tons of CDs but if Kat is satisfied where her career is going then her fans should also be satisfied. I believe Kat is looking for longevity in entertainment industry. For me I am in for the long haul. :)

^ I understand. She is having success in her own rights, but her CD still flopped. It doesn't have to be #1 either. I just wished she'd be on the radio at least or sell more than 50K.

IMO Kat's label, Verve Music Group, a jazz record label is not sure how to market Kat. Kat fans including myself were disappointed with Kat's first song released under her new label. I believe there were other songs from her Unbroken CD that were better than Had It All. Not sure how much input Kat had with the release of HIA. It appears to me Verve does not spend alot of money promoting their artists and, importantly, did not pick up the right first song. HIA was sent to AC stations and not to HAC. HIA only charted in the 20's. Not sure the reason why Terrified was not sent to radio..Terrified looked like a hit to me. Another dropped ball by Verve.

I've always liked her, and it sucks to see her flopping so bad. Agreed. She's definitely one of the most talented singers to come from Idol, not to mention one of the most likeable. I still think she could do well on Hot AC, she just needs the support of her label.

Update on Kat's movie 'You May Not Kiss the Bride'. Post-production is finish and a private screening took place last week. Waiting for word as to when it goes to theaters.
'Beautiful Stranger' is a song featured in the movie which Katharine wrote with David and Shauna Jackson.

I didn't become a McPhee fan until this album, since I thought her Pop-geared debut was a little uneven. But yeah, excited for her upcoming movie roles, and I can't wait for the new "Say Goodbye" videos!

Exciting news -- Kat Christmas album, Christmas Is the Time To Say I Love You -- has an official street date now set for October 12 via Verve Forecast. Smile Keeping my finger cross it won't be delayed.

Excerpt taken from the California Chronicle interview. "I've had a love-hate relationship with the word success," the 26-year-old singer said in a phone interview on Thursday. "You could never live up to the world's view of success, so you have to define what it is to you. As far as staying in the limelight, the key is to create stuff people are interested in, stay loyal to your fan base and be persistent.www.californiachronicle.com/.../148655140

"Sara Paxton (The Last House on the Left) and Katharine McPhee (The House Bunny) are sinking their teeth into Shark Night 3D, from Sierra Pictures and Incentive Filmed Entertainment. Dustin Milligan (Extract) has also been casting alongside the previous announced Chris Carmack, Alyssa Diaz, Joel David Moore and Sinqua Walls. David R. Ellis (The Final Destination 3D, Final Destination 2, Snakes on a Plane, Asylum) begins lensing the action-thriller in Shreveport, La., later this month. From a script by Jesse Studenberg and Will Hayes, Shark Knight revolves around a group of college friends who spend the weekend at a lake house, only to find all sorts of dangerous sharks lurking beneath the waters."
Interesting choice. LOL.
