I really feel like an outsider, not being instantly nuts about this, "Zero," "Magnificent," or "Wrong." Soooo glad I'm not the only one. Especially the YYY's song, I never got their appeal at all.

"Magnificent" isn't anything special to me at all.

Yeah, I don't like "Magnificent" either."Zero" and "Wrong" are decent. Nothing amazing though. This, however, is fantastic.

For whatever it's worth, I haven't gotten that into "Magnificent" or "Wrong" either, but I love both this and "Zero".

I don't think "Wrong" is amazing or anything; it's just the excitement of the song performing so well that's doing the trick, after decades in the footnote box for them.
"Panic Switch" did exceed my expectations but it clearly was going to do fine in its airplay. No surprise there.
The Yeah Yeah Yeah's, while I can take or leave them at any given moment, I felt interested enough in acquiring the new album upon finding it. Preliminarily I'd rank "Zero" with a B grade, ahead of "Gold Lion" and behind "Maps" and "Date With The Night". I don't expect it to do much on the chart anyway though; they're probably well past their commercial peak.
And I've yet to hear "Magnificent" but it must be the shit the way it's making "Boots" take it like a woman on the charts.

Obviously I love this and "Zero," and while I generally enjoyed both artists both songs were better than what I was expecting.
"Wrong" is not my favorite Depeche Mode song at all and I admitted it was disappointing for a lead DM single but in spite the fact I think it's quite enjoyable. Still, it gets an A- by me. DM just have an extremely high bar.
"Magnificent" is not really my favorite U2 song. I hold the unpopular opinion that "GOYB" was great, especially upon the listens through the headphones, which reveal what a greatly recorded & produced song it was. Of the four songs listed "Magnificent" is my least favorite. It might get on to my chart, as it's a B at this point.

^Hearing "Get On Your Boots" on the radio...it sounds bad. But when you listen to the rest of the album...it sounds better by comparison. Not that there aren't better tracks, it just sounds better.

Debuts at #28 on Modern Rock. :) On the one hand, cool. On the other hand, why? I'm shocked by this, actually, because it seems like such a huge jump, for a band that at least I thought had always been flying under the radar. I mean, it's a good song, but I didn't know new material from them was this anticipated. Unless it's just payola.

I think it's 3 things: (1) The fact that "Lazy Eye" really ended up huge, although it was a pretty slow-burner from what I recall; (2) Their reputation in the indie world is seemingly undamaged by (1); and (3) If Pulse posters are any indication, the song is getting great reviews.

Well, it's not like "Lazy Eye" ever fell off that Recurrent chart, which means it's still getting about 200+ plays each week anyway. "Lazy Eye" wasn't really as much a slow-burner hit as something like "Sometime Around Midnight" though.
Also, they had another Top 10 hit that followed on Carnavas, even if "Well Thought Out Twinkes" doesn't perhaps get as good of gold play as that hot Goo Goo Dolls remake did.

As if their record label can afford payola. Anyway, I just read that this song and "It's Nice to Know You Work Alone" are going to be downloadable content for the Guitar Hero: World Tour game!

As if their record label can afford payola. I don't really know how much it takes for "payola". Anyway, I don't know. I realize Dangerbird is small and their artists are small, but I know I recognize a few of them. They couldn't have collected enough money from them in order to give the artist on their roster most likely to break through a little push?

I mean, it's a good song, but I didn't know new material from them was this anticipated. Unless it's just payola. The "why" part to me is easily explained in the song Lazy Eye. I can't tell you how many people I know who aren't that big into music kept asking me about that song because they knew I was into all kinds of music. Friends who didn't even like this type of music ended up all over it. And that seemed to be the general consensus so its not surprising that a new single now would get considerable early attention to see if it has the connection that Lazy Eye did. Programmers are always looking for that breakaway hit to get listeners. This has that shot without being from a huge, well established band. Silversun Pickups could definitely be destined for big things if this album has a decent reception. Definitely building their reputation quickly.

Loving this song...It kinda gets me energized for the day. Lazy eye was kinda just a mellow-angry song...I really liked that, but It's hard to tell if I like this more or not yet.

I know this one hasn't run quite of gas yet and I still love it but its time for "No Secrets This Year" to get sent to radio. Might be one of the best songs I've heard this year. It's already been released in some sort of single form I believe but not sent out for adds.....YET!

Much better than "Panic Switch", which is still a pretty decent lead single.

I think this is their best single yet and it's still got a nearly triple-digit bullet. I haven't heard "No Secrets" but I'd wait a couple of months, because this song is awesome and it has the potential to reach #1 with a bit more time.

I would love to see it hit #1, but sadly don't see it getting another time to do so. Don't think it'll be too long until "There's No Secrets This Year" goes for adds.
