Listening to KROQ now. I'll post a rip as soon as it gets uploaded. Mere seconds from listening.

Song was pretty awesome in my opinion. Just how I expected it to be. Only complain would be (and it seems to be everyone else's complaint as well), is that the chorus was slightly less "BOOM" than I thought it would be. They called the song a heavy rocking song, so I was thinking something along the lines of "Go", so hearing the soft chorus threw me off slightly. All in all, I loved the song, and KROQ actually played it twice in a row and I found myself liking it much more the 2nd time as well. soundcloud.com/kroq/blink-182-up-all-night-kroq/s-au4sIEdit: Also - they said the album should be out around the end of September. Sounds good to me. Hopefully we'll get an album title in the next couple days too.

I think this has the hardest sounding guitar out of any of their songs, which I think only makes the song even better. Well done boys. Well done.

I think this has the hardest sounding guitar out of any of their songs, which I think only makes the song even better. Well done boys. Well done. It's up there with "Stockholm Syndrome". :) I love it! It's crazy that it was able to live up to my insanely high expectations. I love the lyrics (check them out here: www.182online.com/2011/07/14/lyrics-for-blink-182s-new-single-up-all-night/) and the verses, and even though I wish the song exploded in the chorus, it has a great hook. I can totally see why they chose it as the first single. It shows progression and a big influence from their other projects (mainly Angels & Airwaves and Box Car Racer; this song is definitely a Tom one), while retaining the catchiness that characterizes blink-182 so much. I think it will do well at the radio. I'm predicting a number three peak at Alternative and that's just because it stands no chance against Red Hot Chili Peppers upcoming single and "Walk" is likely to have crazy longevity. Basically, hard competition will stop this from reaching the top spot. What are you expecting, people? Now, I want more! I'm greedy for new blink-182 music! Happily, we are supposed to get one more song, entitled "Ghost On The Dancefloor", before the upcoming Honda Civic Tour (in which they will headline) kicks off on August 5th.

Didn't like it as much as I wanted to I'm afraid. :/ I dug Travis's drumming though.

So far, I'm kind of "meh" about this. I like the verses and the main riff, but I'm not as into the chorus, and the song just seems to end too quickly without really building up.

Yeah, it needs a final chorus.

This is a good song and without a doubt i'll buy the new album. However, i don't think after 8 years this is a song that screams comeback. It doesn't have the "hit potential" that many of their previous songs had in my opinion.

It's really not that catchy at all. I think it will get a lot of spins initially since it's Blink...but after the the buzz of the first couple of weeks, I see it losing spins.

It's coming out six days after my 18th birthday... I like the title. It seemed weird at the beginning, but, as of now, I think it works. It made a lot more sense after hearing Mark's explanation. He said something along these lines on KROQ: "Travis is a very street, urban, dirty asthetic, I'm more like a indie rock, whatever guy and Tom's out of space, aliens, whatever. Kinda like different neighborhoods that make up a city". I was just looking at the upcoming releases thread here on Pulse ( pulsemusic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gmn&action=display&thread=103067&page=1). Assuming its updated (blink-182's release is incorrect currently, so I don't know), I'd say Neighborhoods has a good shot of debuting at the top of the Billboard 200. It's too early to tell, yet my guess is that this should sell between 125k and 150k in its first week. I don't see any of the other albums coming out on September 28th beating blink-182's, so it will depend more if there's some older monstrous release dominating or not.

Obviously, their legacy will guarantee them a fast climb on Alternative. Anyway, I actually think this is really catchy. Sure that I'm kinda biased since I'm a die-hard blink-182 fan, nevertheless I think it has a strong hook, like I said before. I agree with pen and mjb1124, though. I wish the song would build up more. It does lacks a bridge and one more chorus... First chart wise news, taken from today's Mediabase Alternative chart "spincrease": blink-182 - "Up All Night": + 63 spins; 24 stations playing.

It's good, but nothing spectucular. I like that it doesn't seem like a specific attempt to recreate past material.

Today, it reached the top 40 on Mediabase Alternative:
(LW / TW / Artist / Song / TW Spins / LW Spins / Bullet / Audience Impressions / Stations Playing) NA / 36 / BLINK-182 / Up All Night / 221 / 0 / +221 / 1.413 million / 53.
The song went on sale on iTunes today. Currently, it's standing at #41, which is also its peak until this moment.

Pretty disappointed. The instruments are pretty spectacular though; however, I'm not really liking the lyrics or the singing. The good news is that they've obviously matured since their last stint together.

This is an excellent comeback single. It pays homage to their classic style while at the same time coming back with a more mature sound. It definitely picks up where there last 2003 album left off. I'm glad they didn't try to "get noticed"by trying to re-create one of their comedic type songs like "First Date" or "Rock Show." They took their pop-punk sound and muted it into a song more appropriate for adults. The chorus is catchy as hell too!

Sounds like an Angels & Airwaves b-side. Very poor.

I agree this has an Angels & Airwaves sound, but with the exception of "The Adventure" this would be A&A's best song.

Top 30 on Alternative:
0 29 BLINK 182 Up All Night 358 0 358 2.232
I see this is getting polarized reactions. To each his/her own, I guess.

Sounds like an Angels & Airwaves b-side. I knew i wasn't only one who thought this sounded like Angels & Airwaves. I like it but it dosen't feel like a comeback single it just feels like something they threw out there. The instrumentation is cool but everything else is very Angels & Airwaves in a bland way.

Travis said that the Boxcar Racer song "Elevator" was used as a blueprint when making this song.

I don't understand why people think this wouldn't sound even a little bit like their other projects. The last eight years don't just go away.
