Really hope that after the Jai Ho era - Elevator could be released to bring some kind of credibility back. Besides a song with killer hooks, Melody is officially the co-singer who actually outsung Nicole who is struggling somehow in terms of with the rhythm and phrasing. Suggest they should send a new version (with more solo parts for melody and some for ashley, jessica and kim) to radio and stuff should it be officially released...

So Jai Ho and Bottle Pop are to be released as well ??? I kind of like Jai Ho - compared to the the mechanical sounding 'Bottle Pop' - it a very 'happening' single with lots of tunes and drama plus twists and turns. In other words, a song which carries a colourful and organic song. However, I am pretty unhappy with how the song is credited - the 'PCD feautring Nicole' part is so downright ludicrous and cruelly insulting to the rest of the PCD members. We fans know that Nicole is THE singer for all the PCD songs - and this really adds salt to the wounds (both to fans who clamoured for more group-based vocal involvement and of course to the rest of the dolls as well). As mentioned - it is a blatant attempt to prep Nicole for her solo album efforts by more thorough name 'branding' this time around. Personally - I am quite upset as it more than a few step behind for PCD. I am really hoping that they could grow more organically.... Frankly, I feel the same way too and completely agree with that assessment. I can understand obviously that Nicole wants to give her solo career a second shot. I'm thinking it's only fair and proper though that on her album she should have several tracks that feature other members of the group (whether it's one of the Dolls for each song, two, or all of them on one or more selected tracks, duets, whatever), a little bit similar to how each of the Dolls put out a song as bonuses for the deluxe edition of Doll Domination. It will ensure fans that while Nicole embarks on her solo efforts, she's not detaching herself completely from The Pussycat Dolls, and it gives some deserved exposure to the other members besides just being dancers. I think that this will not only help to boost Nicole's attempts at having a successful album but also lay better groundwork for their next era(whenever it gets released) that should have the Dolls more highly involved vocally other than just Nicole. I think this is a fairly ideal suggestion and if I were the label, this is what I would be thinking first and foremost. Hopefully, this should lay to rest rumors about the Dolls breaking up, cuts down on the endless chatter about Nicole being a total flop, plus brings some much needed credibility to the group.

According to Wikipedia (and take this with a grain of salt), "Elevator" is scheduled to be released in Oceania and Europe after "Bottle Pop" - sometime in late spring/early summer.

Its just featuring Nicole... no its "a r rahman & the pussycat dolls ft. nicole" and i agree with the rest of you. the dolls are just pawns in nicole's and the label's goal of getting her a successful solo career. it's like she is in charge of pcd and also gets solo acknowledgement. its ridiculous. but i cant help but like them and nicole. i just hope pcd stays together, and dare i say give some more solos to other members. im thinking if nicole has a good solo era then she can come back and maybe they'll share the spotlight.

The original is #4 on iTunes. The PCD version is #77.

This becomes addicting after awhile. I appreciate the original for what it is but that would obviously never have a chance in hell on radio. If it takes a mainstream remix from PCD to get this song out to more people, I say why not.

That song should have been the lead single off of this album, then "Bottle Pop..." If "Elevator" was successful for them, it would be the first hit (and single) to have lead vocals from someone other than Nicole...

Oh, and BTW...One major reason why Nicole can't have a solo career is because she does ALL the vocals already...which means that it would mean the end of PCD...Or at least most likely. For us fans, how would we know...If they had Melody and Jessica do lines here and there then we might feel safer letting Nicole have a solo career...that way we'd still get to keep all of the great songs that a novelty act like PCD would put out...Because let's face it...Nicole is never going to have songs as catchy and memorable as these hooks...

If Interscope TRULY thinks Nicole can be a big solo star, even with her HORRENDOUS last name, then they need to get the top producers and songwriters this year to get her HIT SONGS for her new album.
Drop the single in October, the CD in December and call it a day.

They had the top producers...But who knows why everything was such crap from such a high profile label...
HERE'S AN OVERVIEW OF NICOLE'S SOLO ATTEMPT: It was almost like it was a joke..."Whatever U Like" had a fire alarm and red alert warning for its beat...who the hell wants to listen to that??? It gives you a migraine...Not to mention that it had no arrangements or hooks...it was like a rap song...
Then there was the unfinished, unmixed, and scratch vocal of "Baby Love" passed of for final product...Did Interscope forget that they can use tone correction?? I've never heard anyone so off-pitch on a record...even before technology....I mean it sounds like one-take vocals...And her loud belting worked PERFECTLY to horribly contrast the simple guitar...which had an ok hook (The actual song didn't though...) Then we had the disgusting and gross "Puakenikeni..." which again, had no catchy hook...just a crappy one that wasn't memorable. It also didn't help that the music changed into a completely different song four times. Those three songs sounded like rough drafts... Her fourth and final flop single, "Supervillain" is the only actual song that she released...and sounds good when compared to those lead balloons...but honestly it doen't live up to its cool title...And it sounded redundent for 2007...It sounded like something that would have done so-so in 2003. Not to mention that "Physical" sounded like hookless crap...and "Happily Never After" sounded better with the softer delivery on the PCD album...but yet again, the guitar riff is the only good thing about the song...which is possibly one of the most amateurish and poorly written songs by a professional of all time... "She said to herself YOU'VE LEFT BEFORE... but this time you will stay gone that' for sure... And he shouted something as she dragged her suitcase down the path ((all makes sense so far))) to the doorway SHE HAD NEVER GONE THAT FAR..."
To think they paid money song that can't even be consistent with its own storyline and completely contradicts itself. Also, "When I Grow Up" was a Nicole leftover...and that is the worst PCD song... strangely enough..."Who's Gonna Love You," has a memorable hook and is pretty good...Why didn't they go with that??? There was even finished production and vocals (and no, they didn't re-record, they just grabbed it from Nicole's flops limbo and stuck it on the album - not even bothering to remove the line "It's Nicooooole." But It's a lot easier to swallow than "meet in the back, s**ttin like that...s**t like that...wooly bully, bully" and her throwing out the self-racist line "I'm a love you long time..." Maybe after all of the PCD songs Nicole forget herself that she's not South Asian, she's east asian...

Still I think this could be the top 10 hit that has eluded them..."When I Grow Up," is such a crap song that it making the hot 100 top 10 is redundant anyway.

I REALLY like this version of the song. Probably just as much as the original. Nicole's voice fits this like a glove.

Nicole should stick with the Indian/Pop type of music. JAI HO is great, which is in the same vein as buttons. Since she likes to make weird sounds and notes with her voice, this new Indian/Pop style would be PERFECT FOR HER.

What do you mean this new Indian/Pop style...Nicole's been doing that since "Buttons..." and "Bottle Pop." Which is a total piece of irony, since she's EAST Asian...You know, the OTHER kind...I guess American Record labels don't notice a difference...But you would think a Filipino influence might creep in once and a while...but it never does. I mean, seriously for the period of their whole first album - was I the only one that thought that Nicole was Indian or some other kind of South Asian??? Maybe even Nicole thinks she is??? She looks like one after all of that plastic surgery...

Whatever...as long as she released GOOD music a la PCD.... She needs to fill the void that PCD will leave when they are obviously defected after Nicole leaves them...
BTW, little known fact...did you guys know that Nicole does almost all of the lead AND background vocals for the Pussycat Dolls???? Who knew!!

Like the song, and SO glad they didn't desecrate the title into some stupid ghetto girl thing like "Oh girl, yous just a triflin' jai ho"

unfortunately for the original it has no staying power because radio won't play it and the hype of the oscars will ware off. it may be peaking high on itunes, but it won't have any longevity.
i really think this one will destroy though, and be around for a long time.

If Interscope TRULY thinks Nicole can be a big solo star, even with her HORRENDOUS last name Wow. She could change her name professionally, but the one she's given, she can't do too much about that. unfortunately for the original it has no staying power because radio won't play it and the hype of the oscars will wear off. it may be peaking high on itunes, but it won't have any longevity. i really think this one will destroy though, and be around for a long time. It wouldn't hurt if radio stations began playing something totally new and different instead of the same types of songs over and over. So what if the original one doesn't have as much staying power? If it's popular just for a few weeks, then that's how long it was popular.

I find it funny that there literally is no PCD that I can hear on this, only Nicole, yet they credit it to the group so that they can all appear in the music video and get another hit (hopefully) to their name. Anyway, I still hope this does well :)

Scherzinger isn't her given name, since she's not ethnically German at all... Its her step dad's name and it was her choice to take it.
