Looks like I might actually be right about The Way I Are for once! I still have a decent shot at going 10 for 10, which would be amazing consider how hard this week was to pick and how badly my picks have been in weeks' past.

If Yamin gets 8k your pretty much safe then it would depend on the lower top 10 movements, should be interesting!

This daily update of the chart is confusing - did "Rockstar" by Nickelback go Top 10? If you take the chart every Thursday, for example, it's spending its second week at #11 - if you take the chart every Tuesday, "Rockstar" hit #10 - is there an "official" day? According to Mediabase R&R chart, it hit #10

According to Mediabase R&R chart, it hit #10 The official day is and has always been Sunday. Sunday's data is used for AllAccess's "published" charts, which are printed in the USA TODAY. There is no longer a "Mediabase R&R chart." R&R switched to using Billboard's airplay data on August 11, 2006. However, the official day for that data is also Sunday. Rockstar was #10 on both the Mediabase chart and the R&R chart last week. --DanG

Yamin hit 8k exactly with the PM update - he's pretty much safe - I won't be deluded by weekend airplay anymore DanG ;) Oh well, least I will get yet another good week :)

I've got a great week going... The only thing keeping me from perfection is that it looks like Rockstar is likely going to stay ahead of Who Knew until Monday or Tuesday.

Wow LMAO, I'm only going to have 2 right this week. I knew when I made the predictions that I'd get the top 2 wrong, but I never thought I would suck this bad. ;)

Its just you took risks on the logical moves on the chart this week and did logical predictions for the risky movements this week. So you were logical in the wrong places and risky in the wrong ones lol, if that makes sense We ALL gotta have our crappy weeks, I think all the regulars who have regularly made predictions have had that bad week so far. DanG is gonna walk away with his first perfect after bombing last week - nice revenge! Who Knew got smashing airplay on OHP and getting thrown in with The Hand on weekend party play - I think its not too late for it to pull ahead. Kinda lame that Rockstar is even above Who Knew, being 10 million audience behind it (damn rurals )

Maroon 5 screwed me up the most. I never even imagined them exiting the top 10 this week. And it's not like their drop is huge either (like -1000 or something). I don't know I missed that.

Can the PM updates gap the 20 spin difference with P!nk and Nickelback? Stranger things have happened with the final update!

Can the PM updates gap the 20 spin difference with Pink and Nickelback? Stranger things have happened with the final update! Nope... No major changes. As has become the norm lately, Sunday's early morning update is the final notable change in spins. I was 32 spins away from a perfect week, which would've been amazing considering how tough it was to pick the top ten this week and the fact that I made the picks Monday morning. Of course, I'll still take my first win in this game as a consolation prize... Now, I have to continue the streak! ;)

Here's a fact that's as random as they come... I'm going to assume this is the first week with two or more top-40 debuts in chart history in which none of the artists/groups debuting in the top 40 is spelled with a single capital letter. Yes, I'm a dork...

When was the last time there was such a large non-recurrent drop out of the Top 40?

Nice to see Fergie still at #1 AND with a 1000+ bullet 10000+ spins again!! That might be a record too!! By the way, how long did Beyonce stay at #1? It looks like BGDC is going to be a great contestant for the #1 song of the year, as I said before. Check on it! I'm still rooting for 1) Nelly, but Fergie could go to #3 #4 or even #2 #3, before Pink but passing Gwen ;) Now, it looks like the Tees are NOT going to climb! They are already decreasing spins the last 3 days. So, probably Timbaland can get it just in time. Nice! And have you noticed Amy's fainting on the chart?! For 3 days in a row, she had more than 200 decrease in spins!! she may end up with more than 1400 negative bullet in some days from now! WOW that BURN!! And nice to see SK starting to plummet!! Yeah!!

Nice to see Fergie still at #1 AND with a 1000+ bullet again!! Huh? 8 weeks. It still has a long way to go for that. Oftentimes, these big rise songs tend to collapse quickly one they are out of the #1 spot. I just can't see Timbaland reaching #1. And, depending on the losses Fergie gets, PWTs could sneak in a week at #1.

Oops! Rushed post was mine!! Fixed it already... refering to the 10000+spins AND mentioning P!nk in my preferences for yearend Top2, hehe. Tx JCMF3. Although it is still soon, I think it's pretty impressive her consistency at #1 with those 10K spins, and could be an indicator of longevity... who knows...

I don't see Fergie's song being a big dropper in the way of spins. Well, maybe initially but I think it'll do well on recurrent plays once it maintains itself.

Making a note of the final updates spins in top 10 as I won't be able to tally it all together tonight for the prediction game - just got home from a long day at work..and gotta be back in 7 hours for another long day , so gotta shove dinner down an inner tube into my mouth and get to bed! It will be done at the same time I make Monday's predictions (afternoon). From a glance it looks like there were several ties for the top points, many got 8/10, but no perfects. If anyone doesn't want to wait that long and knows the system points, feel free to post em ;) LW: Jul 29 - Aug 4 TW: Aug 5 - Aug 11 Updated: Sun Aug 12 8:23 PM PST Rank Mediabase Sortable Stats™ - Click any Blue Header Spins Aud. /mill lw TW Artist Title TW lw Move 1 1 FERGIE Big Girls Don't Cry ... 10055 10168 -113 65.021 3 2 PLAIN WHITE T'S Hey There Delilah 9213 9082 131 54.885 2 3 SEAN KINGSTON Beautiful Girls 8442 9175 -733 49.361 4 4 ELLIOTT YAMIN Wait For You 8142 7798 344 50.837 6 5 TIMBALAND The Way I Are (f/Ker... 7877 6999 878 53.740 7 6 T-PAIN Buy U A Drank...(f/Y... 6240 6592 -352 39.449 5 7 RIHANNA Umbrella (f/Jay-Z) 6060 7034 -974 36.992 12 8 JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE Lovestoned 4985 4104 881 32.518 10 9 NICKELBACK Rockstar 4867 4415 452 22.154 14 10 PINK Who Knew 4829 3819 1010 32.975 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It looks like BGDC is going to be a great contestant for the #1 song of the year, as I said before. I highly doubt it... It was released too late in the year to gain ground on songs like Say It Right, which currently is ahead by 75264 spins with less than four months left that get factored into the year-end chart. --DanG

Once again we had a tight one but this time between Pink and Nickelback with Nickelback being the surpriser for the second week straight and holding about 20 spins till the wee hours of Monday. Couple new players to the game, Moderator Princess Peaches and posting regular JCMF3 join in as well as new poster 'bluebomb'. They replace regular predictor David (as he's out till tomorrow when he makes a Smashing return!). Overall it was a hard week to predict with so many movements. Its been delayed long enough so lets go with the results! 1) Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal) 2) Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah 3) Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls 4) Timbaland f/ Keri Hilson - The Way I Are 5) Elliott Yamin - Wait For You 6) Rihanna f/ Jay-Z - Umbrella 7) T-Pain f/ Yung Joc - Buy You A Drank (Shawty Snappin') 8) Justin Timberlake - LoveStoned 9) Pink - Who Knew 10) Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder 1) Fergie - Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal) 2) Plain White T's - Hey There Delilah 3) Sean Kingston - Beautiful Girls 4) Elliott Yamin - Wait For You 5) Timbaland f/ Keri Hilson - The Way I Are 6) T-Pain f/ Yung Joc - Buy You A Drank (Shawty Snappin') 7) Rihanna f/ Jay-Z - Umbrella 8) Justin Timberlake - LoveStoned 9) Pink - Who Knew 10) Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder 1. (those who know Spanish could understand this better ;) 7. Buy U A Drank (s**tty Snappin!) 8. Lovestoned / I Think She Knows (Justin Toptenlake) 9. No perfect scores this week obviously. Continuing trend with people who score perfects and top the game, Admin Ethan drops from #1 last week to #8 this week despite posting a day early thanks to several ties (which favor whoever posts first). DanG following trend to myself, makes up for his bad last place week and gets the runner up spot similar to what I did last week. I stay stable in points but have trouble hanging on to top 5 and come in at #4 thanks to the 'debut' of Moderator Reese and bluebomb who make great first week predictions and tie the top spot for points and come in at #3 and #1 respectively. As well as beyoncelover staying stable in points but dropping from runner up to #5 to round off the top 5. Aceticacid, aside from DanG our most logical predictor takes a buttload of risks yet again but costs him heavily this week - coming in at last place with only 2 right :( But it already looks like he's gonna come on a smashing logical comeback for next weeks

Point-wise tied yes, position wise #2. If tied positions go by who posts first. Especially this week; there would be WAY too many tied positions if it worked by pure point system.

Especially this week; there would be WAY too many tied positions if it worked by pure point system. It's not a big deal since it's just a fun, silly game anyway, but that doesn't make any sense. We both made our posts going by the same exact chart (with spins through last Monday morning). I could understand eliminating my entry from first place if I'd made the exact same picks that someone else already had posted, but our picks were different. If anything, I should get the edge since I picked all ten top-ten songs. I'd rule it a tie when picks are made on the same day as each other as long as one isn't a clone of the other. Otherwise, you're just rewarding people for having more time to visit the board throughout the day. If you want to eliminate ties, how about scoring entries based on how far they missed each position by? For instance, if you pick a song to end up at #7 and it finishes at #10, you lose three points, whereas if you picked that song to end up at #8, you only lose two points.

Well, even though some easy counter-arguements to that would be: Isn't predicting early as you can in the week also favoring people with more time? I know sometimes I can't predict till Tuesday due to work & home stuff, ect. And I do bold everyone that has the highest and it was you 3. I shoulda probably dropped the whole 'position talk' like it was a chart lol. As noted, I don't even put # positions, just whoever has the highest points. HOWEVER, you make a good point since I brought that whole position talk into play. It wouldn't make sense for a DOUBLE early-time favoring. You know what I mean? Meaning you get 2 advantages for posting early, a position advantage from a tie and a point advantage for Monday. Therefore; and even if this is a fun little game, it should be made accurately competitive since that IS fun. Biases aren't fun THEREFORE, it should actually become a 3 pointed system. One points prediction points, the primary factor of scoring. Another points days, being early the secondary factor and the last one point position predictions off by (obviously if it wasn't in the correct position) being the least factor. Exactly HOW that third factor should be pointed? Give me till the end of the week to figure it out lol, it might be positive points or negative but those were great suggestions DanG thanks :) It won't be so hard or technical to figure out that it scares predictors away though ;)

This isn't my first time playing. I "bomb"ed a couple of other times though.
I never understood this but why do we always predict when Monday's numbers come out? Why do we predict what will happen in 6 updates rather than 7? It would be to no one's advantage if we predicted when Sunday's numbers come out and it would make the game a lot harder some weeks when it might end up being really close.
