Full version of miley and davids duet, well Miley's song with David on back up vocals lol, they cut almost all of davids part out and had miley sing them.:

that's too bad because David's part is my favorite. he sounds so amazing!! :) but anyway i still have hopes that Disney is going to play David's part tomorrow on Promma Mia... People will see the difference and they will notice that the show's version of I wanna know you' is better than the Radio Disney's version.. :)

OMG this is the type of song she should be 'singing' !!
So much better than trying to get her "cred" as a really good "SINGER"
David's parts outshine, duh...but this might be one miley song I'll have to try to tolerate.

I wish they had left david's part in and cut back on the overproduction of Miley's voice she doesn't need it.

Aw, it would've been nice if they left the David parts too. They sounded good together!

It was done by both strictly for promotion and $$$. Her because she still has to finish out Hannah Montana; him because the Disney market is lucrative and more name recognition with that crowd will sell more concert tickets this summer. It's not like the song is going anywhere other than Radio Disney.
This is what he wrote about the song on Twitter today: "It seems like a pretty Radio Disney kind of song haha. We just did it for that episode I was on." He didn't mean it in a bad way; the song is what it is. It's a catchy little song, but it's not going to be anything like what will be on his next record. Right now he's in London writing with Wayne Hector who doesn't write tweeny songs.

Is this confirmed? Seems weird to me that there's no push to radio after Idol performance.

No, it's not getting sent to radio lol. He's already writing for the new single/album so it looks like this isn't getting sent anywhere, which is probably for the best. And yeah, that duet seems lame. I'll stick to the 1:30 clip from the show, it's better

Is this confirmed? Seems weird to me that there's no push to radio after Idol performance. No, it was never intended to be a CHR single-there was no add date. I'm not sure why a thread was made. The video and his performance on Idol were strictly for promotional purposes only-to promote him to whatever younger audience Idol had left (not much as it turns out-average age of an Idol viewer was confirmed as 43 years old this past week... hmmm lol). It was just something for him to do on Idol that really didn't have anything to do with radio airplay. Looking back, the Idol audience would have really preferred a nice ballad, and he can sing those better when he's sick, but whatever.

I think David's performance had its good and bad moments. Yes, his stage presence has improved a lot, he moved more around and connected more with the audience. And yes, his voice was not good and he cracked some of the low and some of the high notes The song sounds nice, though (better than the lyrics)... but I would also have to agree with the issue of the image. That entrance of the stage was like opening the curtains to see a tweenie birthday party cake statue some people can see that as cute, but for me it was soo child, kiddie, infantil....

David doesn't control his entrance--it was the same entrance J.Hud got. He kind of has to do what Idol says they want to do. They had to cut out the best verse of the song for time; he was sick (and only a week into supporting McFly in the UK is his voice really back); and the sound system sucked it up. A lot of people on Pulse were begging for TMH to be a single. I never thought it was right, and hindsight, it wasn't the best choice for the older Idol audience.
Then again, David's working on the younger audience right now (not the audience that tends to watch Idol), gaining those fans (who also listen to the younger-skewing CHR stations) before his next record comes out.

The performance didn't really matter anyway considering the song isn't a single...lol it did it's job, exposed him to the Idol audience.
And he was sick, so obviously it wasn't a perfect vocal.

Excuses, excuses. To be expected. But seriously, not every audience is going to be a bunch of eight-year-old girls supplied by Mickey Mouse. For longevity, a singer needs to be able to appeal to a broader range than that. I was rolling at the statement that the Disney/tween crowd is a lucrative market. For temporary merchandising sales, yes. For radio and long-term success, not so much. Or did I miss all the huge radio hits from the Jonas Brothers (they had one), Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato? Miley is the only one to have any real radio success and really, two hits in as many years isn't exactly blowing up. As to how well all of that works in the long term, let's consult Raven Symone and Hilary Duff, LOL. The fact that he was sick during the Idol performance and didn't have a perfect vocal has absolutely no bearing on the lack of substantial sales generated from such a high profile performance. I don't think the aforementioned Ms. Cyrus has ever had a perfect (or even good) vocal, and she sells just fine (for now). Professionals perform during illnesses all the time (it is not in the least earth shattering). And yes, his image is in need of improvement. He seems like a nice kid but someone definitely needs to work with him. If I didn't know better, I would swear he is 12 or 13 as opposed to 18. I have never encountered such a child-like 18-year-old. To think that Jordin Sparks is only one year older than him and Rihanna is only 3 years his senior, well, the maturity difference is astounding. The job of any high profile performance (and especially one on Idol, the most watched show in America) is to move product. And by moving 5k of an album and 13k of a single (when most other performers do far better than that), he did not do his job. Is a second rush job album really the best answer here? If he is as good as some people here seem to think he is, why not take the time to craft a good album since the last rushed one wasn't so great? Unless, of course, Jive just wants to keep a grip on the tweens before they move on to someone else.

I wasn't refering to the entrance per se, but the way he looked when he was entering the stage, the stage image, outfit, look. It was like a kid celebrating his 13th birthday entering to the party with confetti and waiting for the "pinata" More or less, I would agree with this comment: He seems like a nice kid but someone definitely needs to work with him. I like him, but despite his improving on the performance, his image as a whole hasn't matured enough after Idol IMO. And I do think this could affect the way Radio may consider him before playing his singles. Sort of like the other extreme of the Taylor effect. And by the way, for those here who criticized Miley's success, her performance of The Climb was MILES better than David's, in all levels.

Can we close this thread now since this isn't a CHR single? I think people have punched around David and his career enough because of one performance. This thread shouldn't exist.

There I said it...and I think it's time to stop dwelling on the idol performance. It was subpar from his usual we all agree with you...even David does. No one's saying that we can't discuss it..it's just getting kinda old? Maybe we can talk about recent non-sick UK performances. And David more or less fits his age. His cuteness and adorableness is what draws many ppl to him anyways. Jordin and Rihanna look older than their age. No one in my high school looked like that. btw, you should also consult JT, Christina, and Britney. They were all with Disney once. Some fail some succeed. But you have nothing to worry about, David's not even with Disney. ;)

Also, feel free to close this thread down..it doesn't seem like TMH is the next radio single anyways and we only need so many posts calling David an infant.

Are you on Jeff's payroll? It seems everywhere I go, you are there defending the missteps in David's management. When fans have a right to be upset, you always try to persuade them to blame on everything else. You write loooong essays on why altnoy flopped. That song sucked compared to crush and other radio friendly songs in his album. That's why. Miley is working on a young audience. She was received fine by idol audience. David has an image problem right now, and his management or attention-whore dad isn't helping.

The vocal performance was the LEAST of his problems. The performance was incredibly immature and embarassing. He conducted himself like a child. Nobody who posts in this thread hates David. We all want him to do well. But the performance sucked. Hard. He's done a lot of corny shit, but that is the first time I actually felt embarassed to be a fan. And I'm a BACKSTREET fan for christ's sake! In 2009! It takes a lot to make me backtrack. He came out there, jumping around awkwardly, with that strained smile plastered on his face, sounding a hot mess. Not only did the performance not help his career, it probably damaged it to some degree. Rather than showing the growth I hoped he would, he came on there and looked like an unsure amatuer singing a song for 8 year olds. I could go on and on about how much I hated that performance. He really blew it. Jive really shouldn't be rushing the 2nd album (obviously to make a quick buck from the tweens). If ANYONE needs time, it's David. He needs to get better. And more mature. If he comes out looking and sounding the way he did on idol, he can forget about getting any mainstream airplay. Or credibility. Or fans over the age of 12. And please. No over defenesive replies. It is just an opinion. Nobody is picking on David, alright?

I don't call ALTNOY a super flop because it wasn't. ALTNOY has helped the cd to sell 5,000 records every week..and It's one of the People's favorite ;) -showed durability on the top 50 on Pop radio, and peaked at #42, if Jive would have matched with the timing, probably ALTNOY could have performed better, because it was so close to hit top 40, it had 756 spins, the audience was decent ( 3.9 M) and even z100 a big station added ALTNOY.. and it was #1 remember? it made the Billboard Pop airplay too, the Disney Countdowns, xm20 etc ;)and the sales on itunes are decent too, considering that it never had a huge airplay on Pop radio. But ALTNOY is close to hit the 200,000 mark on Itunes.. ;) So no matter what some people say, I still think that AlTNOY wasn't that big flop. ;) and about the AI performance, i loved David, he looked more mature and i loved his performance. Considering that most David's fans are tweens and teens, and most idol's fans are adults according to the press, i think his increase sales on idol were great. hIs cd went from 180 to 110 on the billboard hot 200 and it was the pace setter of the week. I think that was great considering that his cd is a pop cd, was released since November 11, 2008 and it's still selling without a big hit on the radio..I think that's so impressive!!!i'm really proud of David! :)

Even David acknowledged that he was embarrassed about that particular performance. How about you look at his recent performances like in the UK where he's getting rave reviews before you make a judgement. If you want to keep nitpicking at the idol performance go ahead but that was what..in April? Oh yeah, ppl criticized him all the time during idol for being too mature and not acting his age..I guess you can't satisfy everyone.

Oh yeah radio will never play David again b/c he screwed up his idol performance and his dad is an attention-whore (source: TMZ). lol i feel like i'm back in Feb 08 when David first screwed up 'we can work it out'
