I actually think IUSA sounds a bit different from HNC and SW due to the major emphasis he puts on the horns, Spears' performance also deviates it quite a bit from the belting styles of Perry and P!nk. Nearly all three of Tedders' songs: Halo, Bleeding Love and Already Gone have the same calm, erie, ethereal vibe to them with little deviation. And I think Max Martin's songs have the same bubblegum upbeat pop vibe to them. So what's the big deal is my point? All producers do have a sound that they like to use, and they usually do recycle old techniques for parts of new songs, that's something that's gone on for decades. But again, that doesn't mean they all sound the same. It's just called having your own style, so a person can tell you produced that song without having to know.

I don't get what the big deal is if a producers songs have similar qualities. Isn't that the point?

^And Umbrella. And Poker Face. And Love In This Club. And Low. And With You. And the millions of other songs that use repetition as part of their hook.

Isn't is SUPPOSED to be the case...Phil Spector and his Wall of Sound...the Motown Sound. Please...they're supposed to have signatures...Not to make their own songs sound distinct, but to make their collection of songs distinct from other producers' sounds... And why didn't anyone mention Cutfather...Now, that is WAY too similar...signature or not.

I think Martin's productions all sound different for the most part. There is no way that IUSA (pronounced horns)sounds like HNC (dance-y) and no way HNC sounds like SW (pronounced percussion). They have similar elements. However Tedder's not only have similar elements there the same damn song. BL, Halo and AG are virtual clones of one another.

I'm sorry, but BL doesn't sound anything like the latter two. However, Halo and AG have the exact same instrumental.

PopJustice described this as "mid-tempo" so hopefully its a little bit more upbeat than "Halo" or "Already Gone".

BL is completely different to both of them. Halo and AG have very similar instrumentals but the melodies are nothing alike.

If you heard them a capella, no one would think to compare them.

The instrumentals are the only similar qualities. If you heard them a capella, no one would think to compare them. Technically, they could compare them, because they are built around the same exact keys. But that has nothing to do with Jordin or this song. :)

Back to Jordin and the song. How do you think it's going to play out? When do you think it will leak? I guess it would make sense if radio starts playing it either this week or next week. Z100 already has it so hopefully they start spinning it soon. I'm guessing it will be released to iTunes the week of her Idol performance. That way it has a HUGE opening week. Hopefully it will sell north of 200,000.

I have a feeling that this era will do for Jordin what GGGB did for Rihanna. So maybe "Battlefield" will be her "Umbrella" ;)

She just doesn't have that "IT" factor that Rihanna has. I do, however, feel that the era will be another successful one. Her track record on CHR thus far is immaculate.

I think that getting signed to Jive was the best thing for jordin. I don't know if she would be at this level of success with RCA because i don't think they know how to handle young artists. Jive obviously has faith in jordin (because she has proven so much with her great track record on CHR, and her steady album sales) because she is working with some big names this time around (Ryan Tedder, Claude Kelly, Toby Gad etc...) The moral of the story is...I really want this song to LEAK! lol!

I think this could be her breakthrough era. Her first era was very successful, but I still don't feel like she's really "established" or a household name. I think this era is what could do that for her.

Well she is supposedly dancing to this so it must be a faster mid tempo if that makes sense ha ha.

Z 100 has been very supportive of Jordin for the first album and hopefully will be again.
