Mandy's first single 'I Could Break Your Heart Any Day Of The Week' from her sixth album 'Amanda Leigh' goes for adds on June 15! A great & fun track for the Summer! Probably not a radio hit but definitely a nice song to listen in the car and on your Ipod. :)
If you haven't heard it yet,

I'd like to see Mandy get some more pop success. This and 'Fern Dell' would be pretty good for that; hoping this does well. :)

she is still around? someone needs to tell her to stop, but i guess no one will because no one's listening.

She isn't spending millions of pounds on big producers, she's just quietly making music she likes and putting it out there. Nobody expects this to compete with Lady GaGa and Beyonce at the top of the charts a few months from now, least of all Mandy. If it sneaks into the top 50 I'll consider it an achievement.

Couldn't have said it better. It has nothing to do with commercial success. I dont know why people always jump onto that to feel superior or something. I hardly listen to any "commercial" artists and usually I follow them from underground to mainstream if they do. I love indie music, but I love good indie music. I like intelligent music and I like music with a purpose. Ironically this thread was started in the pop forum which implies it has a pop adds date, which implies she wants commercial success. This will not get attention because as an artist, she has never strived for anything remotely intellectual and while there is nothing wrong with that on the pop scene, (see chart topping artists from the last 5 years) you cannot pretend to be working on something special "for yourself" that is this dull and expect to gain any reception. That is my opinion. I am tired of people blurring who are true underground acts and who are unable to distinguish between them and pop washed out artists. I follow underground acts and I appreciate what they are trying to do.

Umm why are we talking about underground & indie artists now? No one is implying that Mandy is an underground artist and no one implied that she doesn't want commercial success. You are going into that area on your own.
Mandy makes the music she likes and she most likely would not expect commercial success & attention for it. Anything else that comes with success will be extra and definitely be welcomed for all her work. Whether you think her music is dull or not, that is subjective. Her music may not be intelligent but as we've said, she writes her music that is close to her. I don't think she tries to make her music to be classified as 'intelligent' anyway.

That is my opinion. I am tired of people blurring who are true underground acts and who are unable to distinguish between them and pop washed out artists. I follow underground acts and I appreciate what they are trying to do. Sounds to me like you just have a very snobby and small-minded disctinction between 'pop music' and 'real music'. In actuality there is no such thing as the latter. There is just music. Some has commercial appeal, some doesn't. Some strive for commercial success (In any musical genre) some don't. The ones that truly don't you never hear of though, because they wouldn't sign a record deal if they didn't want some level of commercial recognition. I don't think Mandy Moore or her fans think for one moment that she is some kind of daring anti-establishment underground musical innovator. She's a pop singer who became moderately famous for very prefabricated pop music and then made a decision to abandon that direction and make music she was happier with. The music she makes now is more acoustic 70's-influenced singer/songwriter stuff. I don't think she's faking anything. She isn't re-inventing the musical wheel here and I'm pretty sure she knows that. Nor is she making music which can compete with the sound which is hot on radio right now. The best she can hope for is to promote her music the best she can and sell enough to keep making it. There are people out there who enjoy this type of music. Look at Jewel. Look at Sarah McLachlan. Look at Vanessa Carlton. They all sold records with music which sounds not dissimilar to what Mandy makes now. All the record label are doing is sending the song to radio stations, hoping that some of them pick it up, and as a result people here the music and the album sells a few more copies. Why is that a bad thing? It's pretty much what all mainstream recording artists do. She'll never have another Platinum record with this kind of music unless for some reason she has a song that really catches on. But she can make enough money to keep writing and touring with her "boring" music, which does have an audience otherwise her shows would be empty and she wouldn't get any decent reviews. But she isn't dressed in hotpants singing electro pop and nor is she unsigned making politically charged grindcore music in her basement. So I guess as she falls somewhere between those two extremes her music is of no value to anyone, right?

Mandy's never really been about displaying vocal power from my experience; she probably can do more with what she's got but her songs have been more about the lyrics and melody than showcasing her voice.

Wow, for some reason I thought this went for adds a long time ago. Why wait until after the album release? I like the song but don't see it going far on radio. Hopefully it will get some plays and sell a few extra albums, though. I love Mandy, this CD isn't my favorite but it might grow on me.

Hopefully this pulls a "Bubbly" and randomly succeeds on pop. This song is actually pretty strong.

Don't like this song at all Why the heck do people come into threads and post comments like this. If you're going to do this, at least EXPLAIN why you don't like a song. I don't go into threads with short posts of "This song stinks!" so why do people feel it is necessary to do so. If you don't like a song that much, STAY OUT OF ITS THREAD!!

This song is semi-ok.
I previewed the rest of the album and it isn't good, especially not that Fern Dell song! I think her previous ventures were better.

I mean it's better than Candy, but that isn't saying much. I think she should stick to acting, I actually like seeing her in movies.

I think she is more focused on acting anyway, isn't she? I mean no one (including herself I am sure) excepts these albums to sell big. I don't think that is her intention.

I think this is a good song. It sounds really familiar though... I can't put my finger on it.
Anyway, this perfect for a commercial deal.

I actually don't think this is better than 'Candy', that was pretty catchy and worked well in it's time.
I wish she'd make more music in the direction she went with 'In My Pocket' personally. That was a pretty good effort.
