If the Grease Soundtrack and The Sound of Music Soundtrack (credited to various artists but the main stars in the movies sang in the movies and had the famous tracks) were properly certified by the RIAA they would be right up there with Nippy Ewwston.
Prince's Purple Rain Soundtrack hasn't been certified in over 10 years, so it would be up there as well as it was already 13x Platinum.

Prince's Purple Rain Soundtrack hasn't been certified in over 10 years, so it would be up there as well as it was already 13x Platinum. Top Soundtracks (from Billboard's April 18th Edition) LW | TW | Artist | Title | TW Sales | LW Sales | % Change | Sales To Date 23 27 GREASE SOUNDTRACK 1,435 1,491 -4 5,812,229 And those are just its sales since 1991, not even counting its record club sales since 1991. Its last certification was an 8x Platinum award on 11/07/1984. Add 6 million to cover the SoundScan total and you get 14x Platinum. Add in its record club sales since 1991 and all of its sales between 1985 and 1991 and it would approach 20x Platinum.

The Grease soundtrack did come to mind when I saw the title. Unfortunately, the chances of it ever getting a recertification are extremely slim to none.

Why would you answer your own question?
Kinda reminded me of the episode of FRIENDS when Monica started taking a class and answered her own questions. Except that was funny. This was pathetic.
