Hate is a strong word. But I really, really, really think they're just average (and completely overrated in the St. Louis listening area.) I'm trying to imagine this as sung by the Plain White Ts, but it doesn't really flow very well. If you took off one of the "really"s and didn't sing the part in parentheses, it would work pretty well.

Their home station was rumored to play it at 1:00 est, no dice. It's supposed to be a myspace exclusive debut, but Hollywood Records hasn't even given the song to the people that run the BB myspace.
So far, three stations have announced they will start playing it tomorrow, despite the fact that they're supposed to wait for myspace to play it first. One station in St. Louis claims to have an interview with Aaron.

Well he just played it twice with a Local H song in between. Sounds almost like demo-quality though.

This is one of the first times that I like a song but I'm actually more impressed with the verses rather than the chorus. I'm sure it'll grow on me as I listen to it more but first impression is pretty good, just have to wait for the chorus to click. Probably as good as I expected with as much hype and anticipation that surrounded it.

I was actually very impressed with the verses as well. Ben has always been a solid vocalist and lyricist, but most of the clever lyrics and vocal tricks are usually reserved for the chorus.

I've heard this twice now and, believe me, I really wanted to like this song. I really did. It was just so underwhelming, though. Even for them, it was just painfully average. Doesn't even compare with "Diary of Jane" or "So Cold" as a lead single. And now because of who it is, I'll have to hear this (or start switching the station on it before long) every day for the next 6-8 months. Jeez...

Could be a grower, but this will never be a "Breath". Hopefully Three Days Grace produces something better.

Hopefully Three Days Grace produces something better. Impossible, lol. Seriously though, I don't think there's a Three Days Grace song I enjoy as much as this one. I know a lot of people say BB and 3DG sound alike, but I never really got into 3DG. I'd rank this third as far as lead singles go, with "The Diary of Jane" first, "So Cold" second, and "Polyamorous" fourth. From what I hear, the strict deadlines that the label put on them forced them to put out the first song they had recorded, which happened to be a song they'd written for a soundtrack that may have never been released as a formal single. Either way, I have absolute confidence that there will be better, more polished songs on the album. I still enjoy the song, it's just not lead-single worthy. Even so, the second single from the last album turned out to be my favorite track of theirs to date.

You're just upset that Three Days Grace is more popular than BB aren't you. xD I think TDG is ten times better, actually.

Considering the new 3DG song had a Pop adds date already (from what I recall reading), that one might turn out to be quite lame and bland, itself.
Don't get me wrong, I think "Never Too Late" is the best song they've ever done, but for a lead 3DG single to already have a pop radio marketing plan in the works? Sounds a little tepid to me...

I enjoy their singles enough, but rarely do I hear an album track worth listening to. "Never too Late" was their best album track, then it was released as a single. Other than "Drown," everything else seems like filler. EDIT: I'll give you "One-X" as well, but nothing else really comes to mind immediately.

I could be adjective I could be adjective You know I could be just like you
Repeat a million times over the exact same riff. And the riff itself isn't even interesting.
Yup, 3DG is SOOOO much better than BB....
NOT!!!
That said, I was disappointed by this song too. At least the choruses. I won't say that the verses are the best they've ever done, but they're certainly good enough. And the intro riff has the muscle. But that chorus....ehhhh.

That pretty much was the same response I got when I told someone I preferred "Just Like You" over "I Hate Everything About You". I still stand by that argument. I never got "I Hate Everything About You". I might even say, I hate everything about "I Hate Everything About You". I enjoy all their other singles though.
