This had another spin at 5:30, according to yes.com

Young And In Love would have been huge! The non-jordin fans don't like any Jordin songs. That's why they're not fans. I don't mean the h@ters, I mean the people who liked No Air and One Step at a Time but otherwise don't really care about Jordin. It's dangerous when fans assume that if somebody has bad things to say about a single, they are just out to hate on the artist. When people who aren't "fans" have bad things to say about a single, that's usually an important thing to take into consideration. There are a lot of just plain old h@ters on Pulse, but there are a lot of people who just speak how they feel about songs too.

Looks like the station that played S.O.S. at 5:30 today is a station in Tulsa. It's giving the song all of it's spins.

I mean, a lot of people on here hate I Gotta Feeling as well.

I think this is the most radio friendly single Jordin has ever released.

I think this is the most radio friendly single Jordin has ever released. It's extremely radio friendly. Lets see if Jive continues to support the album and singles.

Where did Goodbye peak? I could see this doing about as well as that song, but not much better. I think this is a case of 10-15 or >40, and which side it ends up on depends on how DJs feel about it and how they feel about Jordin. We know they like Jordin, because she has a good radio track record. But we don't know how well they like it. If they like it as much as the non-Jordin fans on this board, I don't think it's looking too positive. The label was smart enough not to release Young and in Love despite all the fans praising it last era. It surprises me they chose this one this time around. SOS seems to me like the YAIL of this album. Do you mean "10-15 or <40"? Or in the lower regions of the top 40 ???

Now I'm just confusing myself, but I think I typed it right. x>40. So 41+. Worse than top 40. I guess the notation is confusing when lower numbers are "higher" haha.

I hope so. But could this just become another A Little Not To Over You? Davids album wasn't selling that well, Jive released ALTNOY and it bombed completely. I hope this isn't the case here. David's album was selling just fine when ALTNOY was released in January (barring the post-Christmas slump every album suffered), so I'm not sure what you're talking about. It didn't sustain b/c ALTNOY didn't go anywhere, but it's still at a respectable 720K. Jordin may not have even gotten that had she not had No Air to sell her album (b/c Tattoo and OSAAT weren't what sold her first album, despite their airplay). Pop album sales have kind of sucked in 2009 (as Jordin is finding out now; and so is Kelly C.). But I don't see the point in comparing SOS to ALTNOY since SOS will be released at a completely different time on a completely different CHR chart. If SOS enters the chart at the right time, and radio still has a thing for uninventive danceable tracks, it could do well (note: I love Jordin; I hate this song, but I know that my dislike doesn't mean squat in terms of how a song does). ALTNOY, on the other hand, had terrible timing and entered the chart just as Lady Gaga was turning CHR into electronic dance hour, where even the alt-pop songs were dancy. Bad timing for a non-autotuned midtempo ballad, and the single went nowhere. The key is timing. Jordin has had perfect timing with her singles so far, so maybe her luck will hold and CHR will still be into uptempo overproduced stuff by the time this gets wide release on radio. Besides, CHR favors solo female artists over solo male artists anyway.

It will probably go for adds in the beginning/mid of September. I hope so. But could this just become another A Little Not To Over You? Davids album wasn't selling that well, Jive released ALTNOY and it bombed completely. I hope this isn't the case here. This case is completely different. And David's album was selling far better than this is/will be in a couple months. His album failed to reach platinum because altnoy failed but it did well for only one real single. SOS is one of my least favorites from Jordin's album, but i hate pretty much all of the current CHR hits so it'll probably do well. lol

Hopefully Jive sticks by Jordin and this project. It can be a hit if they choose to make it one. :)

Looks like the station that played S.O.S. at 5:30 today is a station in Tulsa. It's giving the song all of it's spins. - 35 JORDIN SPARKS S.O.S. (Let The Music Play) 21 - 21 0.050 Ehh, I'd rather them wait a bit lol. Don't want this to kill Battlefield.

There's no reason to start playing this. Battlefield isn't peaking yet.

I think this will do well as a single, it may actually harm Album sales though.

The song is okay but it would have sounded much better as a remake and update of Shannon's "Let the Music Play." It currently sounds a bit like two dance tracks haphazardly thrown together. Definitely the same vein as Kristina Debarge's "Goodbye" and I don't see if performing much better than that track.

I'd actually be surprised if there were ten people here that didn't have Jordin Sparks in their avatar that have voiced a love of this song. I'd kind of be surprised if there were ten people with Jordin Sparks in their avatar who said they think this will be a smash. Almost everyone seems to be saying "poor single choice, hope it doesn't crash the era."

This is a grower. Liking it even more. My friend liked it when I played it for him yesterday and he doesn't like dance-pop. I usually gauge the strength of a song when I play it for my friends who only listen to alternative and stuff like that.

this was a grower for me, too, actually. i really hated it when i heard it last week or so, and then when i picked up the album and listened to it a bunch, it grew on me a lot. good single choice, IMO.
