Sounds like a cop out answer... Oh because of the fact that I gave penance the benefit of the doubt and took his reply to be that of confusion rather than him trying to reenact an entire scene on the Internet. Sorry i assumed him to be someone unfamiliar instead of some schizophrenic playing Monty Python scenes over and over in his head. I promise it won't happen again. If You Only Knew may be catchier than SC

Wow, what a dick you are. I was trying to have some fun with who I thought was a fellow Monty Python fan. You're the one that turned it into a measurement contest.

Wow...Hey Swallow you should really calm down. First of all, to insult penance, when you yourself started the whole thing is extremely lame. Try to grab a sense of humor or maybe not take shit so seriously. You'll quickly find yourself the target of a lot of people on here who happen to like Penance and don't find your comment very funny in the least. To call him what you did, really is over the line. You should really apologize for that. Just because you were the one who ended up not understanding what his comment was about and then foolishly making a bogus "-100 remark", you've become defensive like a two year old. Grow up .... or you just might find yourself Ostra-Artie-Cized.

Just think of how much easier it'd be to say, oh woops. I made a mistake. Instead you insulted him, when you're the one that brought it up in the first place. I can recite plenty of scenes from movies that I've seen over a dozen times. You wouldn't even know Pen liked the movie so much had you not made a reference to it in the first place.

My Life Is a Stereo, you are a very polite person. I have observed your responses and I find you to be a rather intelligent person.
So my joke went over the line. I understand. I do that a lot. My mistake.
But to say, "Hey. You insulted penance. We're going to give you the silent treatment," is that really a threat?
Was Artie ostracized because of mischief or because he simply disagreed with the status quo of this forum? At times I think I'm the new Artie here.

I think part of what bothers everyone about Artie is he doesn't mind the fact that he almost seems to enjoy the fact that he bothers people. You don't seem like that's one of your goals. This seems more like an isolated incident that people will forget about if you're generally respectful of people's opinions and behave appropriately.

We're cool. I'm just saying its best not to get off on the wrong foot. I don't see you as even close to Artie for my pure distaste. The "threat" as you saw it was more to say that if you get on the wrong foot of a lot of the board it will make it difficult to be involved in conversations because you will be looked at in an "Artie light". I don't want to see that happen to anyone to be honest.
Artie's ostacisism comes from many things but it mostly started from deciding that he was going to do whatever he wanted to do and damned be the rules of the board. He still basically gets away with it considering half the threads he starts the songs don't see the light of day on Rock/Alt. Half of them are AAA and he doesn't seem to know the difference. If we went back over all the threads he started he's probably about 30-40% on songs even hitting the top 40 on either chart. He would start threads and say "well I heard it on Sirius so that's good enough for me", with ZERO regard to the board.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from. I look forward to your opinions and comments but remember one thing......its hard to be funny on internet , so its best to make some reference that you are really joking.....like throwing an lol, or wink out there to show the sarcasm that can't easily be inferred.

I'm currently on a roadtrip across America. My friend has played the new Shinedown CD multiple times. This one and Second Chance (I know it will amaze some of you on this board that have encountered me at all) have actually grown on me and I will probably buy the new album when I get back in town.
I think it's safe to say 2008 was the big year for two bands: Shinedown and Coldplay.

I don't think so.
2003 and 2005 were huge for Coldplay, but I tend to think 2008 was bigger.

As far as the U.S. goes, Coldplay was certainly never bigger than 2008. Elsewhere it's debatable.

i think coldplay had better years in the past In 08 they had a #1 in both the U.S. and the U.K. In previous years, they never had a #1 over in the U.K.

That was pretty much a given after the success of "Second Chance," seeing as that went all the way to number one. Lol, it's kinda hard to believe honestly.
This SHOULD be a top 10 hit there, I wouldn't expect this to crack the top 20 on pop, but we shall see.

I see If You Only Knew being a top five on HAC. It's perfect for the format, really. If the stars align just right, it'll be a big CHR hit too.
