I see If You Only Knew being a top five on HAC. It's perfect for the format, really. If the stars align just right, it'll be a big CHR hit too. It's so perfect for HAC, that I'll actually be disappointed with anything less than a #1 peak there. I think it's having a pretty strong takeoff on pop as well, which bodes well for it in the future. Anyways, doing good on rock so far. :)

That video was far too boring. They really shouldn't of had it take place on the scaffolding the whole entire time. SC vid>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>IYOK vid.

SC vid>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>IYOK vid. And the "Second Chance" video was corny because the acting was so over-the-top.

^Maybe so, but at least it had a story and thought put into it. This was just random people on scaffolding with the band.

This video may have been boring, but the song isn't all the exciting to begin with. I get that the concept is kind of dull (and pretty irrelevant) but the song is nothing to write home about, so I don't have that high of expectations for the video. The SC video was awful considering the song was half-way decent.

I doubt that, I think it peaks at #4. There was one point where Second Chance looked like it was gonna stall at #6 back when it was first released. Look what happened to that

I doubt this will go top 5 on Active, still, I think it's already a success in the rock formats.
Now, I just hope it blows up on CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC.

This is easily one of my favorite songs of the year but I'm already way over it to listen to it much anymore. I do hope it finishes with good numbers after its run but since I got into so long ago, I don't quite care as much now.

i dont understand why they chose this. there are many better tracks on this album The most simple answer is that this song is similar to SC and with that doing the multi-format blow up, this song was always the a logical single choice after they rolled out Sound of Madness to rock. In the end though, trying to figure out what music executives are doing at any time can be a fruitless mission. There is obviously a desire for this song among the music masses as its doing just fine on rock radio (i have no idea how its doing on CHR or Hot AC).

eh I'd say this is 3rd best, behind SC and Devour, better than SOM, but Pen is right regardless. I still hope they push "What A Shame" to rock as a 5th and final single. It would make for such a positive ending to this magnificent era.

"Devour" was good, but I got so sick of it. This along with "Breaking Inside" and "What A Shame" were instant favorites for me. IMO, the singles have gotten better in succession.
I know they said they could end up releasing as many as seven total singles...hopefully those'll be "Breaking Inside," "What A Shame," and "Call Me."

This was a Breakout on AT40 this weekend. It amazes me from time to time how big of an oblivious jackass Ryan Seacrest can be:
"So Shinedown had a big hit on the chart earlier this year with 'Second Chance.' Their latest single is kind of a...it's a bit of a change of pace for these guys. It's more of a rock ballad."
What does that make "Second Chance," then? Wow. :o + *forehead slapping emoticon*

Somehow I didn't notice it so much all while "Second Chance" was charting, but last week and now this week, since "If You Only Knew" is officially charting, I've noticed Ryan Seacrest tends to emphasize the second syllable in Shinedown's name, e.g:
"A new entry this week, that's Shinedown with their third AT40 hit, 'If You Only Knew'."

I've never emphasized any syllables in Shinedown's name. But that's Shinedown's fault.
