I want this to be a smash! It only has 5 spins on Pop this week. WTF. ??? If they get some promo going for Agnes, and get her name out in the US, I could see this being a hit. Definitely but Lady Gaga took months to take off. I think it was 5 months after it was first released and she is american. It was the song that has taken the longest to get to no.1. It is more difficult for non-natives to make it due to not living there etc. ON the plus she is no.6 on Dance/Club Airplay. I really hope Pop picks it up soon! The live Acoustic Version of this song is amazing!

Release Me has now Climbed to no.5 on the Hot Dance/Club Play Songs. I have a feeling Agnes can score her 1st no.1 in USA. Hopefully the 1st of many!!

Wow @ the Rhythmic airplay! :o The majority of the airplay must be coming from the Dance format radio stations.

So far it hasn't had one but they need to hurry up and send it already. There's no point making a new US video for the song if they're not gonna push the song properly.

Billboard just posted it. She is no.1 on Hot Dance/Club Play beating off Whitney's song which is the greatest gainer which just goes to show the strength of the song. Hopefully Pop will get onto this soon!

I wonder who the last Swedish artist to top the US Club Charts was?
Or indeed, any US chart? Has the Hot 100 seen a Swede at #1 since ABBA?

I'm pretty sure September's Cry For You was no1 Dance and that's not too long ago On the Hot 100 several Swedes have been no1 since Abba, like Ace of Base and Roxette

The last one I personally recall was Roxette's Joyride in 1991, but I'd bet there was an Ace of Base or Robyn single that hit #1 in there somewhere.

the last swede on top of the hot 100 was max martin - last week. :) ;) redone's been doing great this year as well.
i'm fairly sure both of them will be up there lots of times in the years to come. sweden is a pop powerhouse, always has been, always will be.

yeah GO SCANDINAVIA in general! :)
bloodshy & avant, shellback, kotecha, stargate, soulshock & karlin, yacoub, andy carlsson, lundin, the late denniz pop, cutfather...
the pop world is basically listening to 70% scandinavian music. fantastic output for such tiny nations compared to germany, france, spain, benelux or eastern europe.

Something definitely happened here - from 4 spins on pop to 34. Does anyone know where this was added?

I can't find it online. I know she is on a US Promotour. So probably trying to build a bit of exposure so that radio may be more friendly towards her. She was on Good Day NY recently plus has hit no.1 on the Dance charts.

This and Tik Tok need to take off already. I'm so tired of US radio ignoring good pop music in favor of half-assed garbage from established acts. I'd rather listen to a good song by a nobody than a generic new song by an established artist who has run out of steam creatively any day.

Tik Tok will obviously take off, but they are different genres. Tik Tok fits in nicely with all the Lady Gaga electro-pop and electro-RnB stuff out there these days. Agnes will have to fight for dance and europop, much less loved in the US

Agnes will have to fight for dance and europop, much less loved in the US One's an example of radio being too scared/lazy to play new artists and the other's an example of radio being too scared/lazy to play something that doesn't sound like everything else they are playing (although to me it sounds very similar to BL so it's not really a good example of that either). These two songs are in similar positions to Just Dance, Untouched, I'm Gone, I'm Going, and Beating My Heart were last year. Terrific pop songs that took forever to break (or never broke) just because US radio stopped being interested in music years ago.
