It's pretty easy to get on record pace when compared to George as he started so late. More than pace compared to age, the culture of the music charts means a lot more. George (after 1990) and Tim (until around 2008 or so) continued to score #1 songs in an era where multi-week smashes were the norm. In an era where there are 40+ #1 songs each year, totals can accumulate quickly. Apparently not, since Blake and Carrie seem to be the only ones on it. Also, getting a late start seems to be the norm, at least among these artists. Check this out - this is each artist, their current age, their age when they had their first #1, and how many they had prior to turning 30. Artist / Age / Age at 1st #1 / #1s at 30 Tim 49 27 6 Kenny 48 29 1 Blake 40 25 3 Keith 49 33 0 Brad 44 27 3 Luke 40 34 0 Jason 39 28 1 Carrie 33 23 10 Dierks 40 27 1 With the exception of Carrie, who had a very atypical start to her career with Idol, the only other one who had a decent number of hits pre-30 is Tim. Also, despite Luke's very late start, what he's done in 6-7 years is pretty incredible.

Is there somewhere I could find a list of the artists with the most top 0's in country music history? I do the thread for the Airplay era top 10's but I'm talking about before that era.

Does "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" count for just Tracy Lawrence or all vocalists? Just Tracy Lawrence. There is a version with Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. If you have McGraw's Greatest Hits 3, the song is in form of a duet. The only constant is Lawrence, who gets full credit for the song.

Just for further clarity, does credit only go to Tracy Lawrence on the actual Billboard records, or is this an instance of you choosing not to give somebody credit (such as Keith Urban on "Highway Don't Care")?

In the example of Tracy Lawrence, I had failed to mention a solo version of Find Out Who Your Friends Are. It would not be fair to Kenny Chesney who only appears on one version while Tim McGraw is on two versions. Since there are three versions, it would be fair to credit Lawrence for it. As far as Keith Urban is concerned, he just stood there and played the guitar on Highway Don't Care. If I gave him credit for that, then ALL guitar players should receive official credit. If I proved to you I played guitar on 45 #1 records, my name would be above George Strait on the list of those artists with the most #1s.

Billboard officially credited Keith Urban for that song though so they themselves consider it a #1. Since you are using the BB chart you should respect their decision and include Keith Urban for that just like "Bring on The Rain" should be counted as a #1 for Tim McGraw as Billboard specifically listed it "featuring Tim McGraw".

Just because I use Billboard does not mean I agree with what they do 100% of the time. To say an artist is featured does not take into play what their actual contribution was. If I played guitar on Highway Don't Care, I would be honored if they said some poor schmuck from Western New York played guitar on the record.

I have updated Chris Young's #1s totals to eight with Sober Saturday Night. Congratulations, Chris. However, Vince Gill will stay at the #114 spot because his contribution is not great enough to warrant moving him up on the list. See my upcoming comment in the Sober Saturday Night thread. Thanks.

Somehow I missed "Let My Love Be Your Pilllow". Thanks! You're welcome. Just for you, a video for Let My Love Be Your Pillow. From the Ronnie Milsap Live album: I actually have all of Ronnie Milsap's RCA albums. I purchased the RCA albums collection he released a few years ago.

I purchased the RCA albums collection he released a few years ago. I've been meaning to get that. I have all of Ronnie Milsap's hits spread across various greatest hits albums.
