Tim McGraw actually has more #1 singles than Eddy Arnold. 2 of Eddy Arnold's #1's were B-sides not actual radio singles. "Texarkana Baby" and "Don't Rob Another Man's Castle" were not actual radio singles but B-sides of radio singles that went #1.

Please do not get me started on the Tim McGraw thing (Bring On The Rain I consider is a solo Jo Dee Messina single). 2. As far as Eddy Arnold is concerned, the two singles mentioned were b-sides to his other hits. Texarkana Baby was the b-side to Bouquet Of Roses (#1 in 1948) while Don't Rob Another Man's Castle was the b-side to There's Not A Thing I Wouldn't Do For You (#3 in 1949). In the case of double sided hits, I consider it to be a #1 if the a-side of the record hits the top. It doesn't matter what the b-side did. However, if the b-side hits the top, it is considered to be a #1 hit. That comes into play when factoring chart streak of #1 hits, top tens, etc..

I just meant if you went on radio singles alone Eddy would only have 26 #1's to Tim's 28.

You are once again the only person who considers "Bring on the Rain". Press releases for the song Billboard and Mediabase themselves acknowledge it as Tim McGraw contributes to the song. At best this makes you look oblivious. At worse it makes you look like you are way too stubborn in what you yourself believe. It makes this thread feel more like you basically making a thread in what you believe hit #1.

Aren't they the same song just the re-recorded version went #1 as well?

To answer you questions backwards, yes, I Will Always Love You is counted twice. When Dolly Parton rerecorded it in 1982, it was for The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas movie. As far as the Porter Wagoner duet is concerned, they are country music's most charted duet act. They charted twenty titles between 1967-1981. Please Don't Stop Loving Me is their ONLY #1 together. Here is a video for that song off the Porter 'n Dolly album.

Didn't know where to ask this but thought you might know. Did Billboard do a top country songs chart for the 80's and 90's?

I've tried this and it just gives the top songs for each year in both. I'm looking for like an overall top 100 for each decade.

There's one for the 90's on a website called about.com but I don't think it's an official Billboard chart. It has "Don't Rock The Jukebox" as the #1 song for the decade.

Ok I know Sam Hunt has the record for most #1's on a debut album for a male artist. What is the record for most # 1's on a female artist debut album? I'm guessing it's probably a tie between Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini but I'm not sure.

There are plenty of artists out there with big album eras stacked with 3-5 #1 hits, but it's not common for them to be the first release out of the gate. I think in Kelsea Ballerini's case it's worth noting because she's already the first female to start her career with three consecutive #1 hits, so if she got a 4th one in "Yeah Boy," she'd definitely be making history.

Welcome Sam Hunt to the big list. He is the 128th artist in history with at least five #1 hits. They are:
1. Leave The Night On-2014 2. Take Your Time-2015 3. House Party-2015 4. Make You Miss Me-2016 5. Body Like A Back Road-2017
Congratulations, Sam. Also congratulations on your recent marriage.

Is there a list with the most Mediabase Airplay & Billboard Airplay #1s combined? I know that would have Strait 50+ if I researched that correctly.

I think he has 60 #1s if you include both charts, because the "Give It All We Got Tonight" push was being promoted to radio as "60 for 60" meaning his 60th #1 hit at age 60.

Question, I understand why you don't give credit to Tim McGraw and Vince Gill for "Bring on the Rain" and "Sober Saturday Night", because they aren't really prominent on vocals (I can't even hear Vince Gill). With that being said will you be giving Dierks Bentley credit if "Flatliner" goes to #1? I think he deserves it since he sings half the song though he's not credited on radio.
