'Mama's Song' is brilliant, 2nd single? anyone? No, thanks. I'll pass. I'm going to wait until the full album is out before I think about what the best second single should be. Schweeeeeeeeeeeet! First post on fourth page. ;)

^^^Mama's Song is really good, but I'll wait to hear the rest of the cd. I'll give it a 40% chance of being a single.

I doubt Mama's Song will be the bext single, it's definately single material but I doubt they will release the singles in the same order they are doing the Itunes countdown, that would be a little too predictable. Until I hear the entire album all together, I can't decide. However I'm feeling a power ballad for a second single would be a great choice. Carrie's strongest strongpoint has always been power ballads so I'm feeling that. With that said, I have to hear the quality of any power ballads on the album to make the decision. It seems from what people have been saying though that there aren't too many power ballads. I'm hoping for two! With SH we had 3 or 4, CR we had about 3, I'm hoping this time we have two amazing ones. In the end, a second single imo should be a classic Carrie power ballad. :)

I equate Mama's Song to You won't find this. It's pretty but imo, not strong enough to merit as a single.

^agreed. Plus I do think it would be a little predictable if it was the next single. I remember that carrie performed flat on the floor a ton when carnival ride came out. She even performed it on GMa album release date but it was never a single. So I don't think the songs played on walmart soundtrack or those released to itunes necessarily means they are singles.
Sorry for all the typos but I am on My BlackBerry. Lol

For those that didn't get to see Carrie's interview on the Dish Network last night, carrbear from the FC uploaded it. www.megaupload.com/?d=QC87KPYWIncludes some footage from the CMT Inivitation performance as well.

I must say... MS is skyrocketing on iTunes. It is number 21, with almost no promotion on the radio and stuff!!!! CC is also 14 now, which is a 5-place jump..... This is SO exciting!!

Awesome that Carrie gets a cover story on Billboard Magazine again! Can't wait as last time it was really great.
^ Oh wow that is so cool that Fanclub members get first dibs to be in the crowd. Vinman, I bet you will get picked since you do so much for the fanclub and even Carrie watches your downloads! lol
I love the single covers for Temporary Home and UndoIt! :)

Yay for Billboard again. Means I will have to hunt down a copy once more at my local book store. As for the taping, countryfan 2448, it will be on the CBS studio lot. CBS Studios-Radford 4024 Radford Ave. Studio City, CA. 91604 I'm gonna enter through the FC as well T but my chances are as good as any. I don't presume to get any special treatment from the club. I won't count on it. Btw, photo of Nan and Carrie for the upcoming GAC Night's interview. Story Behind ItCarrie Underwood stopped by our studio to chat with Nan Kelley about her new album, Play On, due Nov. 3 -- and to compare fancy footwear! Look for Carrie on the Top 20 Country Countdown on Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. Eastern!

"Mama's Song" is one of the most beautiful records I have heard in a long time. Carrie may be the best in the business at conveying the heart of a lyric in her voice. BRAVO!

^^I agree. I think this is the most emotion I've heard from Carrie in studio. After watching that interview about the song, it makes it that more powerful, and easier to connect to.

Did we know this? I accidentally clicked on my American Idol iPhone App and they had an article about Carrie's iTunes Countdown. This is new info, I think:

I like it! It probably won't be my favorite from the cd, but I like her voice on it a lot.

I still haven't heard Mama's Song (and won't until the album leaks), but I'm really really glad it's doing great on ITunes and it's helping Cowboy Casanova - it just shows that some smart promotion can't hurt Carrie - so hopefully her promotion team has more of that on their sleeve this time around. I'm glad (almost) all the fans seem to love the song, I think it (the song) means a lot to Carrie so we should listen to it with a special attention. lol Also, the response from non-fans so far that I have seem is "beautiful song, not good enough to be a single". I don't know about that, but I'm sure Carrie's team knows what they are doing.

Is it normal for someone to give a Christmas song as the bonus track for a new album on itunes? I am a bit dissapointed about that since most of us already own Oh Holy Night. lol However, for the people who never heard of the Walmart exclusive thing last year, this will be a new song, so that is good.
I wonder if this means that Carrie is releasing bonus tracks on a Deluxe edition for either Target or Walmart, etc, so she could not do so on itunes? Or maybe they are saving the bonus songs for an album re-release next year?

What music did you play during the shoot? We only played Carrie’s songs a couple of times. Mostly we played hard rock… I don’t remember the bands… Carrie’s choices from her iPod. She was liking LOUD rock music that day. Gotta love Carrie. Thanks, Fishbone, for the find.

^^^ That's what I am talking about. The thought of comedy and skits for Carrie make me cringe a bit, but solos and loads of duets would make me very happy. In addition to Dolly, Brad, and David, if I had a wishlist of 5 duets, off the top of my head, I would ask for duets also with:
1. Mariah Carey (All I Want For Christmas) 2. Kelly Clarkson (My Grownup Christmas list. I think the ever-elusive duet let alone non-photoshopped photo of the two of them may not happen this decade :( ) 3. Reba McEntire (I'll Be Home For Christmas) 4. Martina McBride or Wynonna Judd (Blue Christmas) 5. Brian McKnight (The Christmas Song)
