The first single from "Miracle" will go for adds on October 4. First single? What the hell.... The reason she flops over and over even at HAC now is because she has a "first single" every 2 months. (An exaggeration but not by much). Take time off Celine! Come back in a year with focused, well thought-out material. You just had a "new" single a few months ago with "You & I."

What happened to Miracle being the first single? A video had been shot as well.

I don't think this is to early. You And I has died almost 100 % AC is ready for a new song, just not a fast one.
As for HOT AC and POP Celine needs a faster song like "You And I" to give her a hit, and of course Sony could help out a little.

www.sonymusic.it/sonymusic/disc.php?id=247938&lang=ita&cat=518748You can find a clip there. The song is kind of cheesy. "Come To Me" is the only song on the album I really like and it sounds so much like "From This Moment On," "The Voice Within" and "Up Where We Belong". "In Some Small Way" isn't that bad either. Once again Celine picks one of the songs least suitable for radio for her single.

I was hoping that "You and I" might actually go somewhere on the chart, but to no avail. I do agree, though, she's managing to churn out singles like nobody's business these days...and I'm not sure if its for the better.

Does she chose her songs or does Sony?
I think the problem is Sony, not doing any promotion, like for "You And I"
If she could spend more time on doing a GOOD video insted of putting out tons of CDs, maybe MTV would play her for the 1st time in like 5 years.

Sony is still under the impression that Celine can sell herself and don't need her help.
The fact that AND was her worst selling album ever (sold just over 200,000 copies) wasn't a wake up call to them apparently. The only way Celine will score another hit is if she leaves Sony and goes to a label who will do the proper promotion.

I think Celine Dion needs to take the time to put out a CD of completely new material without recycled songs or live renditions. Some of her covers are good, but she can always do those later on... how about focusing on new material?
I'm surprised "You and I" did so poorly on AC. The song was no worse than "I Drove All Night" and that made the top 10.
I think I saw the video to "You and I" on Air Canada. It wasn't very outstanding (just her singing the song in a hangar), though she looks more natural than in recent pictures.

The only way Celine will score another hit is if she leaves Sony and goes to a label who will do the proper promotion. "A New Day Has Come" only sold 200K copies? Wow. And with the success of the songs on the album, that surprises me more. ANDHC was at #1 for 20 or so weeks, "I'm Alive" was in the top 5 for a few weeks, and she also charted with "At Last" and "Goodbye's the Saddest Word". Not to mention "Have you Ever Been In Love" (released again on "One Heart") which bobbled between 1 and 3 with Uncle Kracker's god-awful "Drift Away" and...Unwell by MB20 (correct me if I'm wrong...that's a guess). With all these successful songs on one album, which is practically unheard of anymore (5 songs charting) I can't imagine that ANDHC didn't sell more copies.

"A New Day Has Come" went 3x Platinum so I don't think he's talking about that, but I don't know what he is talking about.

He's probably refering to her latest album, "A New Day Live".. Not many "live" albums have surpassed the Gold status, 200 000 copies is not a bad number for this kind of record.

If "You And I" had be released to POP and AC it probally would have sold over 500,000. Even if YAI didn't go anywhre on either chart. Like it's been said ANDHAC sold 3 million and OH sold 2 million with only one song on each chart.
A New Day... is her worst album ever, not counting her French Albums in the US.
But according to MTV.com she was the #5 best selling artist of the 90s.
#1 Garth Brooks with 64.35 million #2 The Beatles with 42.6 million #3 Metallica 40.21 million #4 Mariah Carey with 40.49 million #5 Celine Dion with 39.17 million #6 Backstreet Boys with 29.07 and that was in 2002 before ANDHC was released.
Since then she has sold about 5 million more cds, Mariah was sold about 2 million more and I'm not sure if any of the other artist have sold anymore. So Celine may just be #2. Most of that 39.17 million came from when Sony was pushing her TCOML, FIY and LTAL.

This is gross. I heard it yesterday and it's even worse than her typical output. Downright blasphemous to the John Lennon song.

LOL only CT would call this a "gem".
CELINE DION Beautiful Boy Producer(s): David Foster Writer(s): John Lennon Publisher(s): Lenono Music (BMI) Genre: AC Label/Catalog Number: Epic 93453 (CD promo) Source: Billboard Magazine Originally Reviewed: October 16, 2004
Heart-pounding choruses? Notes that kiss the clouds? Not this time. Celine Dion previews her upcoming CD, "Miracle," a side project with celebrated baby photographer Anne Geddes, with the gentle, calypso-flavored "Beautiful Boy." Her cover of the 1980 John Lennon song—low-key, playful and trimmed with creamy harmonies—is sweet but never soggy; and while certainly applicable to Dion's little one, Rene Charles, the song is also universal enough to have moms looking with a sentimental eye to their own precious ones. Adult contemporary radio failed to give Dion's previous "You & I" a fair shake; maybe this understated, unexpected gem will restore faith in a timeless, enormously versatile artist who always makes the often-staid radio format sound more vital. Meanwhile, look for the full-length "Miracle" Oct. 12.—CT

Chuck Taylor is a joke, an idiot, and an embarrassment to his profession. I'm not offering an opinion of Celines "Beautiful Boy" - I haven't heard it. I don't have to hear it to know CT is off base with this review. This isn't a review of a song - it's a lecture on personal values and an admonishment for (your - the readers) past indescretions.

I heard this the other day in Dallas on KVIL. My first thought was of the scene in "Mr. Holland's Opus" when Richard Dreyfuss is singing, and signing, this song for his deaf son.
I think its, at best, another "I Drove All Night". I doubt if it will even surpass success of "You and I" or "Stand By Your Side". I wasn't terribly impressed, but not disappointed either. I must admit, however, that I haven't heard the John Lennon version.

If this is true, hopefully it will turn on a light to both Celine and Sony.
Her album comes out Tuesday, if there are no other big artist, she should get another #1 debut, but it this will probally be her first non French/Live album not to go platinum.

This finally debut on the Billboard AC chart. I think it's because they extended the AC chart to Top 40 instead of Top 30.

And it debuts at #30 on the R&R AC chart.

Exactly, so why should it be a wake-up call to Sony? I don't understand it either. Have I mentioned how I truly detest this song?

OK. just OK. Definately not single worthy.... I wish Celine Dion would quit releasing all this filler fluff.... she needs to return to the allout ballads that made her famous... fast.

I agree ballads did make her famous, but POP doesn't care to much for ballad songs, unless their from younger artist. Now maybe if she did a ballad with- um I don't know USHER, she would get a top 2.
The only bad thing about that is that Usher is every where, every hour you hear an Usher song!
