I don't know how well Circadian will do on the radio as much as I love the song. Paper Heart would do better though. So glad TLG didnt represent the album. I am thinking that song was forced on to be put on the album.. I think Circadian could do very well on the AC charts. Maybe release Paper Heart to mainstream/Top 40, and put Circadian out at the same time to HAC/AC and let them both chart, and if any crossover happens, then let it take its toll. Putting two singles out at one time could be beneficial, especially for this album.

I am thinking that song was forced on to be put on the album.. It boggles my mind to no end that the people at RCA chose TLG as the first single...probably just because it had Tedder as the co-writer.

Did Cook co-write TLG?

yes. I have a tough time seeing Circadian on radio as much as I like it, Imo Time Marches on or Paper Heart would do better.

So, I'm pretty much in love with 'Time Marches On'. The other songs are on the soundcheck are great as well, but TMO was a standout for me.

This review is interesting; looking forward to hearing it (I guess it's streaming on AOL starting sometime today): t.co/OJ75Htj

^Yeah; I'm going to play it in order, especially if it's cohesive like the MTV review suggests. Love the little music box thing at the top of "Circadian." EDIT: The verses of "Right Here, With You" sound a lot like the verses of "The Last Goodbye;" I would've been annoyed by that if I hadn't read the review and thought about the reoccurring themes...should be interesting to pick up on those as I continue listening.

Circadian = arguably the Best David Cook song to date. :o EDIT: The verses of "Right Here, With You" sound a lot like the verses of "The Last Goodbye;" I would've been annoyed by that if I hadn't read the review and thought about the reoccurring themes...should be interesting to pick up on those as I continue listening.[/quote] Miles better than The Last Goodbye. TLG doesn't really fit, imo.

I would definitely put Circadian in the top 2 Cook songs ever. I think Permanent will always own #1 for me.

After listening to this entire album, I must say that this is flawless. Circadian is just I'm so impressed by this entire tracking! Much better than his debut (which was nothing to complain about, either!), and it's so nice to hear new Cook music again. :)

I think REM could work as a single. on Hot AC.

Just listened to the whole CD and I think it's a solid effort. My faves are Time Marches On, Paper Heart, and Circadian. I'm a little disappointed in recorded version of Paper Heart, I feel like it sounded much better live at the Walmart soundcheck.
Other than that the rest of the songs are just ok for me, I don't hate any of the tracks but they are kind of forgettable.

I'm listening to the album on AOL and I have to say I absolutely love it. It's a very good 2nd album and I hope it does well.

Another track no one really talks about that I'm digging is "We Believe".

I really hope this does well for David. He deserves it. Don't really see much happening, to be honest. Even though I really am impressed with the album. Hoping for some good sales, and hopefully better sales then Lee DeWyze.

Hoping for some good sales, and hopefully better sales then Lee DeWyze. Time Marches On is a good track. You can skip everything else. The album sound is just not current and I don't see how any song fits on radio today. His Idol fans will eat it up though. I think he'll do slightly better than Lee DeWyze . With one song that is already flopping I'm not seeing how that will help his album sales much. He's a nice guy and talented but he's just isn't relevant. He needed a unfreakable song/album to be seen as more than an AI winner who's fickle fans have moved on to the next season. As for album reviews. So far those reviews all come from Idol fanboys. He needs real music critics to review is album. Rolling Stone, Spin , NY, LA Times etc, etc.... I would take those reviews with a big chunk of salt.

I am torn on what should be single #2. Either Paper Heart or Right Here With You.

I really liked the whole album as an album, especially once AOL got the tracks in the right order. I also thought the production was better this time around---who could hear his voice better, and also hear the individual instruments better. And that was on crappy speakers at work. Definitely looking forward to hearing it through headphones next week.

The Last Goodbye, Fade Into Me and Take Me As I Am are by far the most cliche/cheesy songs on the album. Some of those lyrics actually make me cringe. Circadian and REM are great efforts, the best songs for me (along with GTTG) and actually have a chance on HAC. Seriously, going with TMAIA as a single over either of the 2 is plain stupid.
Oh and David actually mentioning it in the same sentence with Aerosmith is both hilarious and scary.
