Justin and Christina didn't win their album categories. That's why they were ineligible the following year. Oh ok And I meant "eligible." I had that at first too. But yeah, that's why they were eligible the following year. Had they won, every track from their album would have been ineligible for contention.

well Bad Romance will get a nomination either way. its a great song. But just dont think that GaGa is going to get more than what she got last year. if anything she might just get nominations for her music videos. I was shocked last year when paparazzi never get a nod for the Music video grammy

Album of the Year - Sade, Lady Antebellum, Jay-Z...GaGa if the EP is eligible, M.I.A. if it's good BNA - I agreed with Adam Lambert, B.o.B., Ke$ha & The Script...not sure about the 5th slot Empire State of Mind & Bad Romance are likely ROTY nominees.

I think you all are so overrating Ke$ha's chances. Just because she had a couple of hits doesn't mean she will get into Best New Artist. Katy Perry didn't.

Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Christina Aguleria, The Ting Tings, MGMT, Amy Winehouse, Corinne Bailey Rae, Keri Hilson, Fountains of Wayne, Duffy, and many others (in only the recent years) all only had one or two "hits" when they were awarded a nomination and/or win. Obviously, most of these people have/had talent that surpasses Ke$ha but, don't count her out. She writes her songs, is a generally likeable singer, and her voice is unique (when not atuo-tuned). She is really the only artist this year that has broken out so far.

Yes, but I'm saying that people are naming her as a strong contender just because she had hits. Blah. Leona Lewis, is far more talented than she is, had a huge smash. She didn't get a nomination. Neither did Katy or Flo Rida. Critical acclaim plays a huge role in artists impacting BNA. Ke$ha doesn't have that. I mean, she could get a nomination, but let's not exaggerate her chances when there are far more talented and critically acclaimed artists in the running.

No I get what you mean. But really she is the only artist this year that has become a possible contender that "middle america" (people that only listen to mainstream radio) will get. "Your Love is My Drug", I personally think, should get a nomination for ROTY, SOTY, and Dance Recording. Forget the fact that it is Ke$ha - the song lyrics are clever. The song is very produced but the production is fantastic, and her singing isn't auto-tuned. Although some background vocals clearly are, most of her singing is "rap-singing".

The same could be said about 2008 contenders, Flo Rida, Katy Perry and Leona Lewis. All had huge hits, but none of them impacted BNA. And I seriously doubt "Your Love Is A Drug" will get general field love. That's the weirdest prediction I read so far. Ke$ha might land a BNA nomination and a dance field nomination or two, but that's all.

Poker Face - ROTY, SOTY, Dance Recording. Great song. YLISMD is also a great song. It really hasn't hit the charts/made a big impact as much as Tik Tok has, but it shouldn't be discredited. Ellie Goulding could also be a contender for Best New Artist - not going to land a nominations, but possibilty.

Why people keep using "Poker Face" as a basis for argument? "Your Love Is a Drug" and "Rude Boy" (musickidd is predicting that) do NOT compare.

Dayum, some of these predictions are just... :o SL was HUGE, bigger than ANYTHING Rihanna has ever done. Disagree. 'Umbrella' was bigger. lady Gaga who for most ppl dont realize is not that big of a success in America as we make her out to be. ...

Will Bieber be eligible for BNA?
I'm hoping Muse can get a couple rock nominations - without KOL, Green Day, FF, RHCP or U2 this year, they have a good shot.
Rap Album - Jay-Z, Kanyr West (if it comes out), B.o.B, Lupe Fiasco & Ludacris
I think GaGa has will get 5 nominations - Dance Album, Dance Recording (Bad Romance), Pop Collabo (Telephone), Pop Female (Alejandro) and ROTY (Bad Romance). I'd say Best Short Form Video but after they ignored "Paparazzi", not sure she has that one.

I honestly believe that Umbrella will be more remembered than Single Ladies. To this day, every time an umbrella is mentioned at least one person present will chant "ella ella a a." That could just be my social circle though.

Eminem won't win Album of the year. If the MMLP didnt win it i doubt the academy will have Recovery win it. Unless it's a make up for him getting screwed in 2001.
Recovery will win Best Rap Album though.
