I think Carrie's improved her breath control quite a bit on this tour. On the last tour sometimes she took breaths in weird places on JAD, but now she's holding the notes even longer than they are in the studio. See also: HGTA and LN.

On a different, fun note, I just learned how to do this from another thread, but here are the final posting statistics from the Part III thread:

I am sooo anticipating hearing 'Just A Dream', 'Wasted', 'Jesus', cover of '69' the most LIVE at tomorrow night's show, COUGH *3rd row* COUGH ! I'm going to be in a good mood at work tomorrow, lol ! You most likely won't hear '69 at your concert. Carrie's been doing a different cover song each night so far: Reading, PA- Summer of '69 (rock) Albany, NY - Home Sweet Home (rock) Providence, RI - Chasin' That Neon Rainbow (90's country) Portland, ME - 9 to 5 ( classic country80's) I can't believe 80's hasn't won yet. I would totally vote 80's if I could! Enjoy, neally! Review, please! ETA: Haha, thanks, Typo! I'm gonna keep my 80's comment in then coz it's funny. Makes me look stupid kind of funny

She is such a beautiful woman. Country legend in the making. Now if only she'd chase the crossover [/successhungry].

I liked this quote from the slide show. It's smart of her to try to get acclimated to the cold.

There are almost zero tweets and posts about the Portland concert. We're sure it happened, right?

^^ Wow Carrie has a lot of Swagger in that 9-5 performance. Good for her! She has come a long, long way since American Idol in terms of stage presence and confidence. She moves around so much more too, on stage. Awesome! Although, when I think 80s, think Motley Crue or Guns n Roses, not 9-5. lol ^ Oh wow I didn't make the connection between the electric dress and Michael Jacksons video robot suit....that makes sense now since his production designer did Carrie's tour. You can really see it in the beautiful backgrounds and overall creative design. It is brilliant. Even people who don't like Carrie all that much would enjoy the show for the visual beauty. But I strongly feel that by the end of the show, they would be won over to Carrie as well. :) EDIT: Here is a another good review of the tour from Portland!www.pressherald.com/life/Underwood-gets-fans-rocking-in-Portland.htmlUnderwood gets fans rocking in PortlandBy Karen Beaudoin Staff Writer Portland was just the fourth stop on country superstar Carrie Underwood's "Play On Tour," but the former "American Idol" winner and her band had their set list fine-tuned for Monday night's show at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Underwood, a six-time Grammy winner, greeted the crowd as she rose from the stage floor dressed in black tails and bejeweled boots and reclining on a chaise lounge. Then she belted out "Cowboy Casanova," the opening song of her 2009 "Play On" album while prancing around the stage with a black microphone/walking stick. "Quitter" was her second song, followed by "Wasted," from her debut album, "Some Hearts," which she belted out while standing on a platform 10 feet above the main stage. Opening for Underwood were Sons of Sylvia, a trio of brothers born in Maine who did a couple covers and a few original songs, and country favorite Craig Morgan, who had the crowd singing along to "That's What I Love About Sundays" and "This Ain't Nothin.'" Morgan did his best to get fans fired up for the main act when he went into the crowd and stood on a chair for "Redneck Yacht Club." Underwood, who performed the National Anthem at this year's Super Bowl, came on stage about 9:15 and played 19 songs before a two-song encore wrapped up the show about 11 p.m. "I Know You Won't" had her showing off her huge voice before she grabbed a guitar and joined her band for "Some Hearts." The first of several costume changes came for "Just a Dream," which she sang in a blue ball gown while seated on a swing suspended from the ceiling. She really got the crowd rocking after a second costume change, when she reappeared standing in the back of a baby blue antique pickup truck, singing John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads." The truck, suspended from a track along the Civic Center rafters, carried her out above the crowd as she sang. Even those in the far reaches of the Civic Center had a chance to see her up close when the truck stopped its semi-circle long enough for her to chat with the crowd and wave to fans. The truck then completed its trip back to the stage as she belted out another tune. Underwood made a point to engage the crowd during most of her songs, smiling and waving to young fans in the forward rows. Fans from teens to seniors were singing along with "Do It" and "Jesus Take the Wheel." For her 14th song of the night, Underwood invited Sons of Sylvia back to the stage to join her on "What Can I Say" off her "Play On" CD. She and lead singer Ashley Clark waged a battle of voices in the rocking duet. Then Underwood left the stage briefly, only to reappear standing inside a light up dress that several in the crowd compared to the Lite Brite toys they had as kids. Underwood was also joined on stage, through a taped video feed, by Randy Travis. The pair performed "I Told You So," for which they earned the 2010 Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals. Underwood did the song with the stage set to look like the Grand Ole Opry as a tribute to her second anniversary of being asked to join the legendary club. Underwood showed her versatility by playing piano on "Mama's Song" before having some fun with Dolly Parton's "9 to 5," a song she performed after letting her fan club choose from four different song categories. After saying goodnight and leaving the stage, Underwood came back for her female anthem "When He Cheats," and again had the crowd on its feet and singing along. The show wrapped up with her disappearing underneath the stage and streamers covering the crowd as fans happily left the Civic Center. Underwood's tour continues Tuesday at Bridgeport, Conn. Yeah, looks it too... when she looks at someone, probably in her band, and laughs :) Honestly, I'm not a fan of this 9 to 5 cover... or the Alan Jackson one. I couldn't even finish watching that one Not including Home Sweet Home, I like the Summer of '69 the best so far, by far. But still not as much I enjoyed her GnR covers. I do like that there's a different cover each time; it's like getting a new song every concert night.
