Kanye West Taps Q-Tip, RZA, Pete Rock For New AlbumKanye West is ensconced in his Diamond Head, Hawaii home and recording studio, putting the final touches on his forthcoming album with guest rappers like Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock, numerous reports have confirmed. A source close to the project -- which is tentatively titled "Good Ass Job" according to G.O.O.D. Music artist Big Sean -- says it will be released in June. Q-Tip confirmed he's working with Kanye in an interview with Brooklyn Bodega. "I just try to work with people who I admire or whom I think has got it," he told the website. "So right now I'm working on Nas' s**t, about to work with Kanye on his s**t." According to a report on Roc4Life.com, both RZA and Pete Rock were in Hawaii recently recording with Kanye. RZA appeared onstage at a Nas concert in Honolulu on March 19 and a tweet from former Senior VP of A&R at LOUD Records Schott Free suggests that Pete Rock was in Hawaii with Kanye as well. On March 9, Free told Pete Rock, "Enjoy Hawaii, I'm sure you and Kanye' are killing it" and then wrote "@qtiptheabstract on his weezy! Hot." Pete Rock took to Twitter to deny the allegations that he was working with Kanye and claimed his trip was "just a vacation," though he did allude to a secret project in response to Free, writing "Pls dont mention that on here scott, its all goody but i gotta keep a closed lid on it. "In the past, artists who've joined Kanye in the studio have been sworn to secrecy, according to producer No I.D., who has been confirmed as one of West's collaborators. Q-Tip, RZA, and Pete Rock are three producers credited with pioneering New York hip-hop, so their appearances would suggest the album has a traditional East Coast sound. Common told Music Mix that Kanye and No I.D. are following a similar direction with his upcoming album, "The Believer," which Common described as "raw hip-hop.". www.billboard.com/news/kanye-west-taps-q-tip-rza-pete-rock-for-1004080810.story#/news/kanye-west-taps-q-tip-rza-pete-rock-for-1004080810.storyCan't wait for this album......he better be going back to his College Dropout and Late Registration days.

tells you something about pulse when a new Kanye West album has 2 replies and Kelly Clarkson has 6 99 page threads... and Kanye West will outsell the KC album in question.

Let's hope his crazy ass can undo the damage and bad-will people have for him. If he delivers something hot (like he always has done thusfar), then he should be back in business; if he can keep his ego tamed of course.

Look at the tour him and Gaga were going to do together. The ticket sales were awful, but Gaga has been selling out dates ever since then solo. If the ticket sales were bad because of him, then he may have a rough going the next album. Let's use Chris Brown as a example, along with race. He committed a transgression against a fellow black person and look how his career has suffered since then. Now with Kanye he committed a transgression against a white person. Let's face it, there is still much racism in this country. With that, and along with one of his main audiences being top 40 which is mostly white audience based. I think he will have a really tough time finding his prior success at least radio wise.

I do believe however, that he will have urban and rhythmic support while top 40 maybe 50 50. I have a feeling that his new album will not be geared toward pop as his last one was. I don't see why it took so long for people to realize of his crazy antics when he did the exact same thing to Justice and no one said anything.

There is a slight ( :sarcasm: ) difference between beating the face of Pop's beloved Princess to a pulp and being an attention-whoring egomaniac stealing the spotlight away from another.
Neither "acts" were right but there is a huge difference. If Chris can garner a somewhat moderate hit single several months after what he did, I have no reason to believe Kanye will have a tougher time or even as tough a time; especially considering the fact that his was a substantially lesser offense.
I'm over his ego but at the same time I'm also over the backlash he received. I'm way past his latest offense in his series of moronic outbursts. Hopefully others will join me in the present and hopefully enjoy his latest offering if it's any good.

If his first single is hot, then I don't see why he wouldn't have success. Im sure people will move on.

Race? Really? I doubt it.
Kanye publicly humiliated a sweet innocent girl. If he had got up on stage while someone less wholesome was accepting an award, he wouldn't have gotten the same backlash, black or white. Imagine it was Ke$ha and Kanye jumped up on stage and said Beyonce deserved it. There would have been backlash but people would have forgotten quicker because nobody cares about Ke$ha because she's a ho.

I hope it's not "hard rap." I prefer more laidback, fun Kanye sharing some deep issues, but not the rap with much profanity.

He has a very large fanbase though, and I doubt the TS incident will really hurt him because his audience isn't the same that's listening to "Love Story". I hope he comes back hard. Kanye has never disappointed and I'd love for him to make another Graduation or College Dropout.

Ego out of bounds but I come to expect that from Kanye. However he is mad talented and one of the few artist these days who actually cares about putting out a great music video. if he comes hard, there shouldnt be that much of a drop off.
And there is a huge difference between Chris Brown murdering his own career and Kanye hurting poor little Taylor Swift feelings. Ita I'm over it, some of the backlash over it has gone too far, I hope he's learned his lesson though.

I think, even if the record is hot, he's not going to do as well as he has in the past. There have been multiple incidents where he's acted out, and he has likely pissed off a lot of industry people.

I cannot wait to buy this album. I am so sick of all the side issues. Kanye is talented, and despite his big fat mouth sometimes, often he is right in the end. lol

But I also want this era to bring us some happy music.

He's had the titles of his first four rap albums planned out since he first released The College Dropout.
