So....I am back! lolz. Anyway, I was pretty happy to see this made it to #31 on iTunes with no radio play or promo whatsoever. Pretty impressive, Maroon 5's single did about the same thing upon release (actually I believe SBL's initial peak was a bit higher) and it had more airplay and they're a bigger name than David. So it shows that David does still have a core following which is good. No surprise it's falling now with a lack of airplay but at least it is starting to pick up some stations it seems. I want the adds date to come so this can start moving already since it doesn't look like it's going to get a push before it goes for adds. Still confident this will be a big radio hit for him. I'm a little perplexed by the album release date though, SBL most likely won't be peaking by then. Guess we'll see how that goes... And I know I'm 2000 and late with this discussion but I felt the need to add: I don't really see how his image is that immature? It's too soon to tell this era since it's barely begun, but I thought the last era was pretty standard for a then 17 year old artist. I mean he wasn't hugging teddy bears in his music videos or anything. Having said that I do hope that he shows more maturity this era than last. He was 17 last era so the teen thing was fine but, just like I say about Taylor Swift, now that he's entering his 20s it may be time to mature his image a bit. The single cover was a good start, and I think SBL is a more mature song than Crush or ALTNOY. So who knows. It's too soon to be say if this era is too 'immature' or not, time will tell. But I don't think his 'happy' persona is going to change, that's just his personality, and I don't see anything wrong with being an optimistic person. Phew K sorry, just had to cover my thoughts on the happenings of the past week and a half while I was soakin' up the sun. CARRY ON.

^And better than ever! I bought a sleeveless t-shirt and wore my hat backwards for a few days while I was on vacation so I'm feeling extra confident. Watch out Pulse!

The iTunes version of this sounds...subdued or something. lol. I found the same thing happened with Sara Bareilles's King of Anything. I wonder why....is the official site version better?

I've seen a few people say that, Rurry! Apparently, the version on the OS is a lot better.

random but this song is da bomb when you're driving at night on the freeway.
Regarding the lyrics, anyone think he wrote this indirectly about his father? "When you were young, scared in the night, waiting for someone to come along and make it right.." and also "something bout love that breaks your heart"

Not sure why, but on Mediabase he is registered without Jive as his label. There is no label attached to this song.

"When you were young, scared in the night, waiting for someone to come along and make it right.." and also "something bout love that breaks your heart" Yeah, I remember when he talked about the song in one of his vlogs, he alluded to that it could be about anybody, but he mentioned parents/family so I think it might have something to do with that. And I know, it's so weird that it has no label attached. The label is listed on AllAccess, so they really need to fix it on Mediabase.

I hope this kind of stuff gets straightened out. looks like he's gonna do radio promo soon. WKCI played the song today and probably not coincidentally he's scheduled to play at their station sponsored concert in late august at Six Flags New England with FloRida and Boys Like Girls. WKCI never played Crush, so this is nice. I'm guessing he's gonna do more-hopefully a radio tour and maybe more concerts.

Seems like a good sign that Jive is pushing this to audiences he wasn't exposed to in the first era. I hope it's a sign of things to come. This already has received more promo than ALTNOY As for the lyrics, I thought of his dad right when he mentioned that the song could be about 'family' love too. I'm not gonna try to jump into his thoughts but I think there might be some subtle references to that whole situation in here. I hate to bring it up, but I do wonder if we're going to see any other songs with that subject matter on the album...it'd be kinda interesting to hear how he felt about it through music.

Just FYI - David, Flo ri da and Boys Like Men (and supposedly more) will be performing in a 2-day concert at Six Flags in MA. www.kc101.com/cc-common/globalcontestfinder.html?contest=39897And I think someone said that station played SBL today. (I assumed it was a KC station because of the name, but apparently it is CT).

I'm sure it'll get added to All Access soon enough. If it's August 1st and it's still not there then there might be an issue. Jive said in a press release that it's impacting August 2nd so I'd think that's more reliable than All Access.
