P!nk was amazing last night. I was so proud of her. She deserved her standing O.

She gave an impeccable performance at the Oscars, and I agree that she just may always be underrated.

The album sure has had some nice legs. Too bad it didn't have a fifth single, though.

I like "True Love," but I can kinda see why it didn't do anywhere as well as the other singles.
At least she put out a compilation in between new studio albums. :)

I love True Love; it made sense as a single and fourth single after her preceding singles. They obviously had a plan to release True Love and end it there considering it had a live-ish video and she was ending the tour (the tour was supposed to be longer, I believe). The era was on its way out so why keep singles going and no promotion. They probably wanted to save money and also put more towards other artists that had new eras out. It was a highly successful era and ended on a great note. TL did well AC and HAC wise. I think SLY or WOS would have thrown people off in a way, cause she has been going in a more mature route this era with her singles (Try and JGMAR at least), or people would have rolled their eyes and said this is coming from a new mother or potentially throw off new fans? You cant please everyone, I know, but I think with her desire not to sing swear words says it all.
That being said, I'd rather her not get overexposed...this era was pretty perfect imo (#1 album, #1 single for three weeks, huge tour, Oscars, Song Of The Year nom, etc..)...except I would have preferred a different lead single and video.

I don't think so, that ship has kinda sailed, I think... She's so profilic as a writer that a re-release 18+ months later would be pointless. P!nk also has very defined eras. IF TL had been a big hit, it might have been possible, but it's been months now and the albums is still selling. I'm looking forward to a new project.

I'd like to see her branch out. I've been a huge fan for forever but Funhouse already felt a bit like diminished returns, but it was exciting because she was starting to do so well. Her GH songs were fun but weightless, and then The Truth About Love was just a total bore for me, outside one or two tracks (and nearly all the bonus tracks, which were excellent). Everything about her just feels very static, and has for some time, so I hope they don't take her success as a time to continue to coast--she's really rebuilt her reputation and has the opportunity to try new sounds and usher them into Pop radio.

I think the whole "I love/hate Carey" shtick is very redundant now. I'm ready for some new themes, at the very least.

Billboard reported that she sold 15.9M albums in the US, according to SoundScan, when it was announced that she renewed her contract with RCA earlier this month.

Her GH songs were fun but weightless, I think RYG and Perfect are two of her best singles. I think the whole "I love/hate Carey" shtick is very redundant now. I'm ready for some new themes, at the very least. Very redundant? Two albums? One was about her breakup and the second was essentially a follow up about how she felt then and now (it's her truth, and we all "love" and understand it, so I'm ok with it...Id rather not see her get preachy again, slutty, or jump on the dance wagon...which she wont...i hope for blues/rock or indie rock); however, the albums were not completely filled with Carey themed songs.

Is P!nk working on a new album? She has been seen with City and Colour aka Dallas Green a couple times, one coming out of a studio. No official word on anything.

Id give anything for Pink to switch up genre's. While personally id love another full R&B/hip-hop album (i miss the use of violins in pop music). But honestly id take anything over pop-rock. I could see her going either folk or big pop ballad diva route as a natural progression. Minus Gaga it seems like all the major pop divas out there right now have gone soft and have stopped being as experimental as they have been in the past. I miss these girls idgaf attitudes. It always made for great music.
