I still think the circumstantial evidence of Carrie's albums being released in the UK and SonyBMG talking her up in Australia recently suggests that she might be doing some overseas TV work soon. Aren't there Idol shows around the world she could potentially guest on? I wonder if Simon Cowell would have her sing on his X Factor show?

^^ some of you guys really hate Roman, huh? lol I think he has moments of brilliance, like BHC and the Wasted Video- which I loved. I also liked AAG despite what some people said- because it was cute. I was most dissapointed in JTTW as it should have followed the story line. SS was good- but it was too distracting with too many story lines. I loved parts of it though. LN was very good I thought- except for the end because the wedding scene took too long. I loved Elvis though. lol I am curious what a different director would do with carrie- I admit...but I do like alot of Roman's work. I just think-- one time at least- she should branch out to someone else to see what direction he or she would take her. I think we have similar tastes (teams AAG and JAD! ), I don't have any particular issues with most of his videos except SS and JTTW, but I definitely think Carrie should try other directors to see what's out there. She deserves the best and how can she know what is the best if she doesn't even try working with different people? I have the same fears with Mark Bright, Hillary Lindsey, etc., like there's this Nashville mafia of people Carrie is comfortable working with that isolate her and will prevent her from growing to her full potential as an artist.

Why do they show them exchanging kids twice and both times it's from her to him even though in the lyrics they go from his car to her car also? Weird.

I think she's mentioned that she loves the melody of the song and that it didn't really matter what the subject matter was, she would still love the song.

i bet the wedding dress will morph into the black mourning gown, using one of romans computer animations... Oh man that's a great idea. I really hope that happens... Obviously we are all different because that sound SO cheesy to me. *Fingers crossed for the video to look good*

Maybe that's why she has a big gap in her schedule from August 8th to September 19? International promotion at last? *fingers crossed* If that's the case I hope we have some video cappers overseas! And JAD is definitely the best single to sell Carrie in non-US markets. :)

Just woke up and saw these caps posted at the OFC. Carrie looks great! She has such expressive eyes. She's wearing a very conservative wedding dress, with the kid gloves like tsharky wanted, I wonder what era the story is set? Thanks for bring them over, fisch.

Well IKYW features all those long, loud "American Idol" notes people like to applaud. While JAD might be classified as a ballad because the verses are slow, its chorus is as fast as any uptempo pop song that makes it more of a sing-along type song than a sit back and appreciate the vocal song.

Carrie performed this at the Opry with an abbreviated ending, and that's probably how they'll edit it for radio.

LOL, I've said since my review of the first show that JAD should have been sung in the ballgown. I guess she uses the costume change to break up the three ballads but it would have made much more sense to sing them all in the gown in terms of atmosphere. I would love to see her sing the song in a wedding dress too!

I love these comments!! This year, McPhee is set to record her next album, which she says will be a departure from her self-titled first. "The first record was so rushed and so forced into a specific genre," she says. "It's completely not an example of who I am as an artist. Anybody who sings pop can sing that."
She's developing her new album with the Grammy-winning producer David Foster, and it promises to reveal a truer Katharine. "We're taking our time with the record," she says. "It's amazing. It's the way a record should be made." Loving this!!! Yay! Totally agree that first album could have been done by anyone, that's why I found it so disappointing. Looking forward to the next one. Loving the new song, it's so pretty.

You know the part about Carrie looking like a porcelain doll, it's true, she's gorgeous. Personally, I've never met anyone so pretty. If Hollywood doesn't come calling, they should. They've already called, but Carrie is not answering so far. She is asked quite often about acting, and she always says she's gotten scripts, but she would only consider it if it's a really small role that fits her schedule because actors who sing and singers who act are usually at their secondary profession. Thanks for the M&G report, glad you had a good time. :)

Wow, it sounds so horrible that I suddenly almost want to hear it. But wait - is it bad in a tedious way or in an entertaining way? Tedious.

In my opinion a "true" #1 is a song that still gets requests and downloads years after it peaked on radio. Carrie's people effed up on "All-American Girl," it's still pulling in way more downloads than other songs of comparable airplay and its video is still very popular--more popular than the LN video on iTunes. They should have let it die a natural death rather than by label suicide and tried to give it more mainstream exposure (Disney movie soundtrack or something). Sonically, LN has some similarity to BHC but many people can relate to BHC and few to LN, which is more of a novelty song.

Yeah I agree with the consensus on this thread. I was looking forward to this because Gavin has a nice voice and LRTS is pleasant enough. Then I tried listening to the album and about 1/3 of the way through each song I wanted to skip to the end already. I made it through like 1/3 of 5 songs before giving up.

I love 43dudleyvillas. Topic: I don't really think Carrie has much of a shot at Entertainer of the Year (even the nomination) unless she starts touring bigger venues since the big boys all play the 12-20 K configuration. And to win the award, she'd have to have a successful large-scale international tour like Shania or the Dixie Chicks. As for LN maybe going for adds at Hot AC, the format is a much more natural fit for her sound than pop, IMO. Hot AC is a rock-oriented pop format geared towards people in their 20s and 30s, and the material on CR is rock-edged and reflective of a person in their twenties.

OK, folks...a couple of notes from your neighborhood moderator. Want to discuss Jessica Simpson? Take it to the thread that bears her name. Don't post about her in this one. And bear in mind that using inflammatory language to describe an artist may fall under the board definition of trolling, which will get you warned. About the R&R detections updates grandpa1 has been posting in this thread...hey, that stuff is leagues more valuable than the Jessica Simpson crap, and it's actually on topic! From the standpoint of personal preference and logic, I agree with neally that the stats would have made more sense in the LN thread in the Country forum. But as a mod, I'm not going to tell grandpa1 that he can't post them in this thread. Like I said, at least the information is substantive and it doesn't repeat statistics already posted. Speaking for myself, I rarely read the LN thread precisely to avoid reading daily spin updates since I consider this thread the general news/photos/videos/watch Carrie's performances live thread.

"Last Name" was taken off All Access top 40 adds list. It's no longer listed at all. I'm so confused. It looks to me like RCA Music Group pulled all of the songs that were slated to go for adds next week. Daughtry's "What About Now" and Leona Lewis' next single ("Better in Time," I think?) were also slated to go for Top-40 adds next week, and they were pulled, too. "Better in Time" now has a mid-July adds date. I guess it remains to be seen whether LN gets a later adds date. It doesn't seem like it has been getting much in the way of early spins outside of a couple of stations, though several Top-40 DJs are listing it as a Hot Pick at AllAccess. Hm, well Daughtry got moved to July 1st. LN is still listed as going for adds at Hot AC on June 30, but that page is usually slower to update. Maybe they want to wait until the song is definitely finished at country before sending it for adds?

On that top country earners list- Carrie was pretty close to the number 9 earner-- but the slideshow ended before they showed who the number 10 top country earner was. Do you know who number 10 was? thanx! Keith and Faith are tied at 7 so there are ten entries but the rankings only go up to nine. -- If I had to guess a single based on the vid description, I'd guess IKYW, but I really want it to be JAD so I'm in denial.

^As you said-- Forbes based it not just on earnings, but on magazine covers, web hits, radio and tv mentions, and newspapers, etc. In other words-- "buzz" everywhere-- plus income = powerful. that is why faith hill and tim, etc- kenny-- didn't make the list. Faith had a quiet year, very few magazine or tv appearances. Tim and Kenny bury carrie in earnings-- but not on web hits, mag covers, tv mentions, etc. Carrie RULES the other criteria they look at. Carrie: Power Rank 79 Pay $9 mil Category: Musicians Pay Rank 88 Web Rank 35 Press Rank 63 TV/Radio Rank 44 Carrie is ranked 35 for web hits and popularity-- pretty great. She is ranked 44 for tv and radio, also great. Press rank of 63 is not bad either. She is 88 for pay, so she needs to increase that. lol I bet she will with her tour this year, vitamin water, nintendo, etc. Yeah, based on earnings alone, Carrie didn't make their Top Earning Country Stars list, but she is huge in mass media. More people know who she is and like her than many others who have brought in more money. It's like when Entertainment Weekly named her one of the top 25 Entertainers of the Year last year. From her top 10 artist ranking in Hit Predictor across all genres of radio listeners, she is just plain popular, lol. --- The video casting call description really makes me scratch my head, with the description of a speaking part. Wonder if it's even for her next single or if she's got another side project like "Ever Ever After."

I'm sure dudley has a master list somewhere of all of Carrie's tour dates this year, but she's sung four days in a row before already a few times this year. How much vocal rest a performer needs depends on the type of voice she has, some people can sing six out of seven days and sound fine, and others need a break every other day. Carrie's fortunate enough to belong to the former, and she's talked about working out to make sure she has plenty of energy (VitaminWater, lol) to put on a show every night. I'm guessing Glaceau and Nintendo will help sponsor her tour in return for the ads she's been doing for them? Oooh, maybe we'll get fancier sets.

Eeeee! Carrie finally comes to Boston proper, no random driving by myself to the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold to see a show for a change. *Fingers crossed for her to add YWFT to the fall set list.* Dudley are you going to a show?
