This 1982 TGiving edition has been a turkey so far:
1. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Mark said countdown Everybody Wants You wasn't for Squier, only peaking at #32. 2. On the display for Hand To Hold On To, the artist listed is John Mellencamp. Of course at this point he was still being billed as John Cougar. At least Alan intro'd it correctly. Then he said countdown 'Wings was Osbourne's biggest hit. Don't You Get So Mad About this flub, Jeffery's Woo Woo Song and Love Power w/ Dionne were much bigger. This is after he said LTD had a couple hits omitting their biggest, Back In Love Again and top 40 Shine On. 3. The display for Down Under showed 1981. Then Mark said it was the 3rd single from Bidness As Usual (2nd US release). Then the display for 'Sisters showed the year as 1984. That is when they got Excited with a remixed version. 4. Alan said Crystal's first hit was Wrong Road Again. That never cracked the Hot 100. It was Gayle's first country top tenner, but she had previous country top 40s 5. Mark said Southern Cross would peak this week at #18. It actually reached that position on the prior 11/20/82 panel. Then the display issues continued as there was none for Nobody 6. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said 'Shadows was #14 when Benatar was really at #16. Then she said Dreamer was a top 20 in 1974, it reached #15 in 1980 for Supertramp. Then in her weekly content screw up, Nina short changed ONJ five top tenners. She said 10, but real number is 15. 7. Oh No, Alan said Richie's final Commodore hits were Sail On and Still! Old Fashioned Love and, OMG, Lady You Bring Me Up. This show was a Wonderland of mistakes!

First some catch up from last week's 1989:
1. Mark placed When I Looked At Him at #10 instead of #40 2. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said Love Shack was B-52s first biggie since Rock Lobster (#56) 3. Nina said The Way That You Love Me was Abdul's 2nd Forever Your Girl single. Actually that version only got to #88. The 1989 countdown hit was a year later reissue.

1. Nina opened by saying Wonder Woman Underoos were the hot item in 1980. She was a couple years too late as the TV series had been over for more than a year by this point. 2. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan added Hells Bells to the list coming from Back In Black. It never reached the Hot 100 for AC/DC. 3. In her weekly content screw up Nina said Murray reached #1 w/Snowbird becoming the first Canadian to reach the top. Anne peaked at #8 on the Hot 100 with her 'Bird. 4. Nina said Leo didn't catch US 'Flight until 1977. Of course he Danced to a top tenner with his 'Glasses in 1975. Then she said countdown 'Say spent two weeks at #2. It was More Than that, I Can Say five. 5. Mark said Dreaming was Cliff's 3rd and final US hit! He had nine US top 40s and Suddenly had two more soon to be top 20s coming, including on this chart where he was at #58 and climbing w/ONJ! You know an error is bad when you have to be corrected by Alan which clarified it was Richard's third and final top tenner.

Just heard another mistake from the 1988 countdown: Alan said that “Don’t Be Cruel” (the title track) by Bobby Brown was his 5th off the album. Pretty sure it was the first. I didn't hear that one but to open the 1988 show Alan gave us this gem saying the kickoff artist was named for a 'country' in Europe. That 'country' was When In Rome...OMG!!

From 1983:
1. Luther wasn't listed on the display for How Many Times Can You Say Goodbye and neither was Sembello as Automatic Man was shown as 'VJ Big 40-Dry-CPU Year 1983' 2. OMG, Alan said Cuts Like A Knife was Adams' followup to Reckless. Of course Bryan didn't get Reckless until 1984. Then he peaked 'Summer at #12 when Motels topped off on the 9th floor! 3. Mark was Delirious when he said it was the followup to Prince's Corvette. Of course the rereleased 1999 came between those two!

On to 1988:
1. Alan called New Edition's countdown song If 'This' Isn't Love. 2. In her weekly content screw up, Nina said 'Sister was the 3rd single from TT D'arby's album. It was the 4th song to reach the Hot 100 from Hardline. 3. Alan placed 'Steps at #21, but Another Lover was really moving 20-26. 4. Mark said Mindbenders 'Groovy was from 1965. It first charted April 1966.

Just catching up from last week's 1987 show:
1. Mark said Siedah Garrett wrote countdown I Just Can't Stop Loving You. He must have it confused with another Bad release Man In The Mirror. 2. Alan called Marx hit Hold On To The 'Night' 3. OMG, Alan referred to Natalie Cole as one of Pointer Sisters.

1. Alan mentioned being gone last week....mentally he was absent but it was really two weeks ago, see above! Then the display for Penny Lover read 85 even though Lionel's hit peaked 12/8/84. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said Night Ranger was dropping 22, really 36-18 3. Mark Tortured me saying it was dropping from #14, Jacksons really plummeted 34-17. Then he said ONJ passed on Gambler's What About Me to work w/BeeGees. She was really working on Barry Gibb's solo album. 4. Alan peaked Ross @ #20, but Diana would be Swept to #19. Then they played the album version of Bop 'Til You Drop, not the heavily remixed hit single version 5. Alan peaked the Purple One at #3, but it would 'Rain @ #2. Then he said I Would Die For U would be one of the two PR chart toppers. It reached #8, really it was 'Crazy, which Alan drives me, that was #1. 6. Alan said 'Sisters were static, but they were ^13-15 w/'Excited 7. Alan said PR Nelson was on the countdown for the 3rd time when introducing Let's Go Crazy dropping from #1. But it was only twice w/Purple Rain. Or 4 times if you throw in Sheila and Chaka's songs? And what makes this error even more mind blowing is it was Alan that misidentified the #1 tunes from 'Rain. See #5 above 8. Mark said Last Time I Made Love was a non album single release. But on the real thing airing this week on Premiere, he was corrected by Casey identifying the tune being from the album Looking For Trouble.

1. Can Alan go back on vacation? He mentioned In Your Eyes was from the film Say Anything. But that was a remixed version in 1989 that reached #41, not the one on this 1986 chart. 2. In her weekly content screw up Nina said Nu Shooz album had three charting singles. Only countdown 'Return and I Can't Wait reached the Hot 100 from Poolside. Then in her weekly chart screw up Nina said Palmer ^5, Turn You On was really moving 19-26 3. Alan peaked Baker at #2, Sweet Love really topped off at #8 4. OMG, Mark called the Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone artist Survivor! These are your 80s experts.

The good news was Alan was off tonight meaning fewer errors and no early 80s good, bad and ugly comments:
1. The display was a disaster with several tunes not tagged and the VJs segments still showing last week's 1989. Then they played some strange version of Breakup Song. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said Jessie held at #15, when Rick's Girl was really dropping 15-13 3. Nina said the chart was Sept 16, 1981 before Step By Step. Then in her weekly content screw up Nina said Newton had 6 chart toppers. Countdown 'Hearts was Juice's biggest hit peaking at #2. If you count all charts, the total is seven, 4 Country, three A/C 4. Mark said countdown 'Voice would continue the success of the first LDV single without ever mentioning that Moody's tune was Gemini Dream.

1. In her weekly content screw up Nina said countdown 'Heart was the 2nd single from Look Sharp! It was Roxette's 3rd from that album. Then she called Seduction's countdown song 'You're My One and Only Love' 2. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said Love Saw It was one of them from Karyn White's countdown album. That tune never reached the Hot 100. 3. Alan said Abdul scored three #1s from her album. FYG generated 4 chart toppers. 4. Mark said countdown Heaven was the first single from Warrant's album. Of course that honor went to Down Boys.

1. OMG, Alan called the singer of Rockin' Around the Xmas Tree and I'm Sorry 'Sandra' Lee 2. All the VJs parts were still tagged 1980 from last week 3. In her weekly chart screw-up, Nina said The One You Love was #32 really #39 4. In an Alan double dipper he said countdown Jump To It was Aretha's first top 40 since Sparkle. That was the album Something He Can Feel was from. Then he said both the JTI album and single were headed to #24, but the album would get to #23.

But wait there's more!!
5. OMG Alan said Johnny Lee's last hit was #6 Garden Party!!! How in the $#%%$# do you mix up Rick Nelson and Johnny Lee??? OMG, these are your experts! I think it is because Johnny had a minor 1977 country hit with a quasi remake of Garden Party. It definitely wasn't a pop hit. Then he said John Travolta went from SNF to Urban Cowboy. There was a 'lil film called Grease in between the two.
6. Mark said Sailing would unseat ONJ from the top when #6 Magic reached #1. The unseating had already occurred in the prior panel as both tunes were starting their descent.

It's been another heavy error night for Casey lite. Let's summarize so far:
1. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said Jo Jo and Fred Knoblock were dropping 14. Their real falls were 34-17 and 35-18 2. No display for the guys How Does It Feel To Be Back, it just read #31. This isn't some obscure artist, it is H&O! In another display issue Why Not Me was tagged as 1981, when this Sept 1980 chart was the final panel it would spend in the top 40. 3. Nina said I'm Alright was #25, really #27. Then she said Xandau was #36 when ONJ/ELO were really @ #26 4. Alan peaked One In A Million You at #15 when Graham would really get to #9

And they continue!
6. Somebody please take the mic away from Nina!! She said Asia was dropping nine when Don't Cry was ^16-23. The embarrassment continued when she said 'Dance fell three when MWOH ^11-18. Then she said Joel was up a couple when Tell Her About It soared 12-22 7. Alan called Men At Work's Cargo song Dr. 'Jekyll' and Mr. Jive! Then he said It's A Mistake was the 3rd release from that album, really the 2nd single. 8. A rough night for Alan continued as he said Maniac was a recent #1, but it was still headed for a September peak climbing 3-4

Tonight has already been a disaster for Casey lite:
1. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said Elt was up eight. Kiss the Bride was ^35-40 2. Alan said Sly's brother was down from #10, when Far From Over was ^30-36. Then in their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said this was Frank's only one, when it was bookended by other Hot 100 entries. 3. Nina said Dead Giveaway was down 15? Shalmar was ^29-31. Then she said Far From Over was climbing four. See ^ 4. Alan moved Air Supply up three when 'Making Love was ^26-32 5. What chart are these idiots looking at tonight? Nina said Journey was up four when 'Fall was moving 23-24 and Naked Eyes was climbing eight when Promises x2 was ^24-29. Alan chimed in saying ELO was dropping 19-18. 'King was actually holding at a #19 peak

1. In their ever changing definition of a hit Alan said Tao produced one, countdown 'Heart. But he omitted Rick's Top 30 Celebrate Youth from that release.
2. Nina called Freddie Jackson's group Mystic 'Marlins'. It was Mystic Merlin.
3. Mark said 'Spin Me was written by Pete Burns. But it is really credited to the entire group. Then he said MTV Europe launched '7 or 8 years' after the US version. The real date was 8/1/87 or exactly six years after the States counterpart.

But wait there is more!
5. Alan said FB covered Beach Boys Wipe Out. Of course BB were the featured artist on that Fat Boys recording, the original was Surfaris.
6. Alan said 'Sign was headed to #2. TTD was peaking in this panel at #4
7. Mark called Chicago's countdown song "I Don't Want To Live Without You'

There are a lot of errors this week so let's get right to them:
1. Alan said Wiedlin peaked at #8, really Rush Hour topped off #9. This was after he called Astley's countdown song 'It Would Take A Strong Man'. Then he said Loggins would have 4 top tenners from 3 three films. It was really 4 flicks for Kenny; CS, Footloose, Top Gunner, and CSII
2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said Flame was #6, really #26. This is after she said countdown Kick was Inxs breakthrough album. That would be prior 2x platinum 'Thieves with top fiver What You Need
3. Mark Poured Some Sugar at #8 when Def was really #18
4. In their ever changing definition of a hit, Alan said Love Will Save the Day would be a 'minor' one for Whitney peaking at #9. This was after he said Perfect World writer Alex Call was 'fresh' off of 'Jenny. I don't know if six years after 867-5309 was all that fresh.

1. Alan mentioned Michael Nesmith as part of the reunited Monkees. Of course the countdown 1986 version were Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz only. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said BMonkeys were ^7. 'Scene was really dropping 21-14 3. Alan said Woo Woo would be Osbourne's biggest hit. That would be solo. His biggest post LTD was played 2 weeks ago by Casey lite; Love Power w/Dionne Warwick. 4. Alan said Solitude Solitaire was Cetera's solo debut. Of course he put out self titled Peter Cetera a few years earlier. 5. OMG, in her weekly content screw up Nina called Baby Love singer Regina 'Roberts'....she was really Regina Richards!
