Mark already had an error hat trick an hour into the show:
1. He started saying countdown Fandango was one of Herb's biggies. It peaked at a tepid #100, nowhere near Alpert's five #1 albums and ten top tenners.
2. He stated 'Somebody was Frey's 2nd No Fun Aloud single. It was the first from that album.
3. He called Ronstadt's hit, written by Bonoff 'All of My Life'
4. He said Air Supply first charted AC with Even the Nights. They entered both charts 6/12/82
5. Alan joined the party saying Don't You Want Me was #1 for two weeks, HL was actually there for three
6. In her weekly chart screw up, Nina said Survivor was #1 for seven weeks, really six. Then she said 'Tiger was the #1 song of 1982. I wanna get Physical over that mistake

Was July 1987 still in the VJs strike zone or did they whiff?
1. The display didn't list Dionne Warwick even though she was the lead Love Power artist along w/Jeffery Osbourne. Also, the display for Shakedown listed Bob Seger & the SBB. Of course this was BS solo.
2. Mark said Living In A Box would be their only US charter. But followup So the Story Goes would reach the bottom rungs of the Hot 100 in October that year. Then in her weekly content screw up Nina said Winwood would score 5 hits from his 'High Life album. That release would tally 4 Hot 100 entries.
3. Alan called #9 countdown song Don't Disturb 'The' Groove
4. Mark said countdown Funky Town came a year after the (1980) original?
5. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said MSM's 'Rhythm was at #5, real chart position #6.
6. Showing their full repertoire of incompetence, Mark said Whitney's 'first' hit was How Will I Know?? She had been charting for a year by that point.

Casey lite has traditionally struggled w/1981. Was this week different?
1. After some strange version of Breakup Song, Oh No, Alan said countdown 'Lady was Commodores last biggie w/Richie. 2. Alan said countdown Don't Let Him Go was the 1st release and 4th biggie from REOs album? It was actually the 3rd chart entry behind Keep on Loving You and Take It On the Run. 3. Alan said Ad Libs 'Boy was from 1964. It charted 1965. 4. Alan said Jessie's Girl was Rick's first hit. Of course in 1972 Springfield had top 15 Speak to the Sky and then several other chart entries in the years before Jessie. 5. In her weekly content screw up Nina referred to Air Supply as a duo. That didn't happen until Just As I Am which Casey eloquently explained on this week's real 1985 offering from Premiere. On countdown The One That You Love, they were still a group.

This week's Casey lite is from 1981. Errors could be high.

From last week's 1984:
1. In her weekly content screw up Nina said Colour By Numbers produced 5 big ones. CC's album had 4 Hot 100 singles. 2. Alan told some funky story of Dan Hartman hearing countdown I Can Dream About You, written by the director of Streets of Fire and wanting to record it himself? Huh?? I think he had probably heard it before this since Dan actually wrote it for H&O who turned it down enabling him to put out his version. 3. Mark said Almost Paradise was by two singers whose bands were 'on fire'. Heart had had only one top 40 in three years. It would be another year before Ann & Company would begin their comeback.

Did a switch to the late 80s do Casey lite any good?
1. In her weekly chart screw up, Nina said Love & Rockets was ^13. It was really moving 19-26. Then she said Doctor was down seven when DB were jumping 14-17.
2. Alan said Orbison Drove All Night in 1982. It wasn't actually recorded until 1988 and released as a single until 1992.
3. Alan said 'Face was McCartney's final top 40 until 2014. His featured appearance with Rhianna and Kanye charted in 2015. Then Every Little Step was tagged 1988 which is strange since BBs entire chart run occurred in 1989.

1980 was free this week, flubs and all.
1. In their ever changing definition of a hit Mark said Tommy Tutone only had only one w/Jenny, ignoring this week's #38 countdown song. 2. OMG, Alan said Air Supply first hit it big in their 'native' UK! Then he said their US breakthrough was when Lost In Love from Life Support started to get airplay. Of course this Lost In Love was rerecorded & was the title cut from their US LP. 3. Mark called the Sedaka's countdown hit, Should Never Let You Go 4. Alan said Joel got 3 top 40s from Glass Houses. Billy really landed four.

From 1985 this week:
1. After actually playing the correct hit version of Possession Obsession!! Alan said it was the 3rd from BBB. It was actually the 4th from that record for H&O. 2. In her weekly chart screw up Nina said Air Supply was ^9. Just As I Am was really moving 29-35. Then she said Kool & the Gang was ^3. Fresh was falling 18-15. 3. Alan said Lauper was headed to #5. Goonies would really peak at #10.

From the 6/11/83 show:
1. After saying 1983 was the VJs sweet spot, Alan incorrectly peaks I Ran at #7 when FOS topped off at #9. 2. OMG in her weekly content screw up Nina called Capaldi's album Fierce Heat! The real title was Fierce Heart. 3. In her weekly chart screw up, Nina said Police ^9. 'Breathe was really moving 25-36. Then she said '80s Aussie invasion' group LRB would peak at #15 w/We Two. Little River Band, which first reached US soil w/ 1976s It's A Long Way There would top off the very next panel at #22. 4. Alan must be looking at a different chart. He said Sergio was headed to #7. Never Gonna Let You Go would get to #4. 5. Mark said Dr. Noah Drake's Affair was peaking this week at #10. Rick would climb another inch to top off at #9.

I am starting a new thread dedicated to identifying errors on SXMs 80s Flashback countdown. For example this week's 5/16/81 chart show:
1. Mark said Steve Winwood was in the process of climbing to #7 when 'Chance was on its way off the countdown. 2. In their ever changing hit definition, Alan said Jessie's Girl was Rick's first biggie. Of course in 1972 Springfield had top 15 Speak to the Sky. 3. Mark must be looking at a different chart than me. He said Her Town Too was ^ when JT was collapsing 29-11. Then he said Somebody's Knockin' was headed to #1? Where? It was falling from a peak of #13 Hot 100, #8 country, #3 A/C. 4. OMG, Alan called McLean's countdown song 'Since I Don't Have Too' after saying the original came out in 1958 (first charted Feb 1959). Then he said 'Loosely was .38 Special's 3rd biggest. Not even close, they had 6 top 25s and this one peaked at #27. 5. Nina repeated the Mark's title error on Don Mclean's #26 track. 6. Mark called What Are We Doin' In Love performer 'Connie' West! OMG!! 7. Alan said there was another 'America' song coming up after Neil Diamond's #20 hit? 8. A rough night for Mark continued as he said How 'Bout Us would be the biggest of 7 Champaign charters. They would only reach the Hot 100 twice. 9. After saying Carnes recorded her hit in March 1981 (it first charting then) Mark said BDE would spend 9 weeks at #1, be interrupted by Stars On 45 for one panel, then another four weeks at the top. Of course Kim's total chart topping run was 9 weeks.

Label screwed this up by releasing too soon. What’s the deal with everyone dropping single after single like it’s apocalypse?! They should’ve let YNTCD run a full course and released this with the announcement of her new tour. Song is perfect for winter season. I also don't understand the need for 2, 3, sometimes 4 songs before the album is released. By the time the album is out three months, there is already burnout.

Down to #51 this week. Only three weeks in the top 50 after, correct me if I am wrong, 'Feeling spent all 52 weeks of its chart run instead the 50. 'Bowl bump sends Filthy back up to #34 the week. Say Something is #17.

Wow, J Timberlake is 0-3. It's like him and his label rushed something out to sell during the 'Bowl.

I don't understand this strategy. I was recently listening to a countdown from Jan 1989 and Bad, which MJ released in Summer of 1987, was still spinning off singles. Tay Swift's album is only a couple months old yet it feels like all the rockets have been fired and they are already falling back down to Earth. Same thing is going to happen to JT.

Anyone think there's a chance this will be sent to pop or at least Hot AC/AC? I don't see a 52 year old female garnering much Pop airplay in 2017. And since A/C really isn't a format anymore; they just cherry pick soon to be recurrent CHR hits and play them for another year, I don't see much happening there outside what she is getting now, 200-300 weekly spins which gets you a top 15 on A/C nowadays but doesn't do much to sell records.

What's wrong with Twain?
For years I have read on this board threads like "Shania's new album, TBD" yet her new song comes out and is not doing anything!

It was pleasant enough to listen to a few times, but that was it. I wasn't tempted hear more than that.
