HOLD UP!!! >:( In Round 3, I count 3 votes for "Endless Love" and 3 votes for "On My Own." ??? "Endless love" had had 7 total votes to that point, and "On my own" had had 8.

Basically any Will Smith song is a different combination of 4 sounds: how do you figure? Will actually rapped about things sometimes, other than dancin' in da club and sippin' on some syrup. "Just the two of us" stands out IMO as a rare positive rap song that was also a hit. "men in black" is fun, but i like the song it samples way better

I just want to let you know this is going to be totally unfair. How many people have honestly heard some of the classic duets you listed? I love "Two Hearts" too but there's like 5 people here who have heard it. That's always true around here though, can't be helped I guess.

I'm all alone on the brass?! C'mon now guys. Another example I thought of is Blackstreet's "Before I Let You Go".

Who picked strings? They're probably used the least but it does always sound great... like Wyclef's "Gone Til November" or Monica's "Street Symphony"

I had to choose Brass, as exemplified recently by Mary J. Blige's "Ooh!"

I say Pop & R&B so keep that in mind-- otherwise everyone would pick guitar probably. And I'm not including drums, too obvious.

I couldn't decide between "Free Your Mind" and "Black Cat" but I pick the former since it is behind in the votes. Basically all these songs are good (except "Fighter" yuck), when an R&B/pop singer is strong enough to rap their cords over a rock track, it's always killer.

come on. "naughty girl" is like poor man's "baby boy", it really only had success b/c it was beyoncé and all, and even then it didn't meet up to her other singles. defn. "dip it low"

"One sweet day" was really the biggest hit, and is the most well known. but TLC were more of a phenomenon, had a huge album, the song happened around all their drama, the video was huge... so i guess it's an okay choice, too.

This is hard, Don't Speak is a great choice... but Un-Break My Heart is just as easily recognizable, and is more of a standard. It shouldn't be so overwhelmingly for No Doubt-- it's so clear what kind of music this board prefers. So Ill pick Toni just b/c of that

I love Kryptonite, but it didn't even hit #1 on the Hot 100. This year is hard b/c the songs that have the most meaning and cultural resonance don't have the big chart success to back it up. Probably Kryptonite is the most important, but Independent Woman was the biggest hit in terms of success. It also solidified Destiny's Child's mega-stars status.. so i'll grudgingly pick that.

I hope Prince doesn't win. All he did was rewrite "Do Me Baby" and throw in a little "Adore". Try again. but we're talking about vocal performance not R&B song
