The music video has almost 13kk views on VEVO. I think that Chasing The Sun will be debuted in the Top 50 of Billboard helping with streams. I think its more likely to be in the 100 - 80 range

I'm kind of concerned about this, I emailed a guy that works in Digital Marketing at RCA for Hilary about this and he told me "We should have impact& add dates confirmed shortly. Will let you know when we do"
That gave me hope, but I mean shouldn't these dates have been planned weeks in advanced? Maybe they wanted to test the water first to see how the song did online. If they want this song to take off at all it needs to be on radio ASAP, it is a grower like others have said so people need to hear it over and over to love it. For all we know RCA may have this strategic plan. I keep telling myself that they have some strategic plan and that everythings being timed perfectly... I really hope I'm right. I wouldn't hold your breath, remember this is RCA.

I feel bad for all the hate she is getting, i hardly see any positive comments about the song. I'm surprised people can be so against a song that is so unoffensive.

I think it's much more likely to be TSwift this year than Katy. I'd love to see a variety of people though like they did in the early-2000s. Well the SuperBowl is sponsored by Pepsi, Taylor Swift has an endorsement deal with Diet Coke could this have an impact? Also Katy's album was in partnership with Pepsi.

I doubt they'll put out another single after 2 mildly successful singles.

^I do agree. Her label needs to spawn a grassroots movement to drum up interest and create a buzz surrounding her return to music, especially since she has nothing else in the mainstream contributing to visibility (i.e. product endorsements, acting, reality TV, etc.). Well she has a new TV show coming out this fall, so hopefully that does well.

I do find it odd that when she was younger she tried to distance herself from the Lizzie McGuire chick flick persona everyone knew her for, and now seems to be putting herself right back in that pigeon hole.

I like it! Does sound very Metamorphosis, a typical Hilary Duff song. In an interview she did say this album was a labor of love, so she is hardly going for commercial success, although they did mention she has already sold 15m records so far and she said she thinks she can sell another 15m so who knows.
And if she wasnt going for commercial success she couldve just released it without a label.

Has this or "Neon Lights" helped her cd sales at all? It kept it floating around the bottom half of the bb 200, and it re entered the UK Charts for a few weeks, so it has helped somewhat yes.

Blue Smoke spends its 6th week in a row at number 3 on the UK Charts, has now been certified Gold there and 'Try' has been A Listed by BBC Radio 2 the most listened to station in the country!

WOA obviously is a bigger hit, are they stupid or keeping it in the wings for Q4?

Well, I guess Dignity 2.0 is for sure not happening. But, I do like that sound. It's very chilled, laid back, fun pop. I'm excited. Im glad its not Dignity 2.0, that was over 7 years ago, it was good but no need to rehash something she has already done, better to move forward. this song sounds very easy listening, should at least perform moderately on radio if given a good push. Maybe they should send her on a radio tour to familiarize her with radio again.

its very her type of music, like similar to what she did when she was younger, you can definitely tell its a hilary duff track, which is great! glad she isnt chasing trends and just doing her own thing.

Hmm, this era is already starting to put a bad taste in my mouth. She needs a big return to the industry if she is to have success, not some half baked idea of performing the single, in a small venue, with no hype even before its on itunes. where is the TV promo, the song going for streaming, some announcement. Is there a point to signing to a major, if you are going to act like you are doing it independently.

You've spent 109 hours listening to Payphone, or more than 4 entire continuous days. That's slightly unnerving. actually a slight bit of last.fm profile creeping brings the total out to 2,208 plays (or 141 hours, or almost 6 straight days). That's either insane or impressive, haven't decided yet. Surely they left it on repeat by accident without realizing, or being there to listen all those times, I think if anyone heard any song that much, especially something as throwaway as 'Payphone', they would need institutionalizing.

On TMZ it says she dined and dashed from a cheesecake factory restaurant, realised what she had done and gave the waitress a $100 tip!

Yeah not just headlined, but drew the largest crowd at Glastonbury. Her album is also doing very well here in the charts. all the press here about her recently has spawned somewhat of a revival or something for her here.
