How so? As much as I get a kick out of the 'I'm rubber you're glue' posturing, you'll have to wait till Page 231 for further thoughts. Cause I have them. I'm sorry my lackadaisical post has affected you so much. Jack as much as I agree with you on here, you are completely unable to post an opinion on this board without also trying to pick a fight with someone. It's great when it's toward obvious trolls, but when there isn't one for you to torment, you become the troll.

I guess be glad I didn’t produce it then. I would have gone for a more mid priced megachurch karaoke sound. 🤷🏽♂️😜 OMG please stick around. We like sass! Truly iconic

I mean, the soundtrack is literally titled The Greatest Showman: Reimagined, so I would've been a bit surprised if the production on the song ended up being similar to the original. I'm fine with a different/modernized pop production for a ballad like this. Because, y'know..."reimagined." I never said it wasn't reimagined or not modern or pop (it is definitely not Pop though). I said I didn't like the instrumental lol It's not hard to understand. It's a big song with a big vocal and I would like to hear that part more clearly. It's Quiet Uptown was a really great re-imagining, when the beat kicks in ebbs and flows a bit with the song and with the melody and isn't in competition for my ears

So was this. Her vocal is amazing as always, but the production sounds like a cheap megachurch karaoke song. I feel like the production is more in line with what you would hear on a big ballad soundtrack song or something from Broadway. It isn't produced like a radio single or album track and it shouldn't be. I think it would fall flat if it were. Listen to It's Quiet Uptown. You hear some similarities in the production and I don't think that is a coincidence. The similarity I hear is Piece by Piece Radio Remix. A Broadway or soundtrack song wouldn't fight with the vocal to this extent.

This was annoying. - Love Kelly's Never Enough. Nailed it. So was this. Her vocal is amazing as always, but the production sounds like a cheap megachurch karaoke song.

The fact that they passed on the opportunity to bundle the album with tickets (possibly because they bundled presale codes with albums? idk) signals that they are 100% done with MoL as an album.

This album is going to be one of those where in 5 or so years, people will see how ahead of its time it is. His production style is so intricate and embellished, which is the antithesis of the current sound, but absolutely the direction pop will be moving in the next few years.
Correct, specifically, is a work of genius.

iHeart's response lacks any receipts, and I would love to see a breakdown of how each of these stations using her @ to promote the festival has spun MoL's singles.
ETA: This is exactly the same strain of the culture that sees Lorde nominated for Album of the Year, but denied a solo performance slot. There hasn't been a solo female #1 on Hot 100 Airplay (Mainstream Top 40 is a different story, but still male-dominated) since Hello in 2015/2016.

This got stuck in my head after hearing it once. It sounds great on the radio - refreshing even. Sia's voice creates memorable moments quite effortlessly. So Sia is breaking the "40 plus women the end of career rule" and also that you have to look like bimbo to be successful. It is nice to see. However, I think it's also important to point out that she was already 38 when she had her first mainstream hit with Chandelier in the US four years ago. She was a "new", unclaimed artist for this generation's mainstream pop audience in the states to embrace. I've always used Sia as an example of how it's not necessarily about an artist's age, it's about which generation they "belong to" in terms of pop music culture, specifically in the US. History shows us that we (listeners and programmers and labels alike) tend to focus on the current generation of pop stars, not those that staked their claim 10-20-30 years prior. Point being, there's a difference between 40+ established artists who had a string of hits starting in the 80s, 90s and 00s, and someone like Sia. Using her as an exception to a rule that is generally applied to established, aging hitmakers is lacking some appropriate context. This is all true. Plus she is one of the first/only artists to pull off the "Who is she?"/Mystery gimmick with the wig and being an "anti-celebrity." Her songwriting style, her voice, and her image all connected at the same time in the public eye. It's an amazing success story.

An EP after all this time when you know she's written 900 songs. Unless we are about to get her Body Talk trilogy, I will scream. (jk I will be a grateful gay for the immaculate pop music we certainly don't deserve!)

This is a perfect blend of the three of them. Genius was a Diplo showcase and Audio was basically just a Sia song. I hope this smashes (WAOH WAHH WOHH)

Kelly should remind her angry fans that she supported Ron Paul a few years ago... lmao it was a single tweet about him sounding like he's making sense during a debate but go off sis

I've never watched any season, so I don't know what people dislike about JHud, but there is definitely more chemistry between Kelly and her than Kelly and Alicia. Racism tbh. They don't like that she's loud, that she throws shoes at contestants (something that is explained tirelessly is a compliment and something Kelly herself did on Duets), that she sings (so perfectly) all the time. She didn't whitewash her personality in any way, and is more naturally boisterous than Alicia, and (old, white) people found it uppity and off-putting. She basically acted a lot like Kelly lol, and while some people found Kelly annoying, most people found it endearing when it was her and inexplicably awful when it was JHud. But she was a f**king star to me, and the combination of her and Kelly is going to be off the charts. Tell em sis!

This is really her most confident and strongest album. I get that it's Pharrell's thing, but a lot of his screeching is out of place on his songs and it does detract from them! The fact that he still lacks the capability to edit is just.....
It has been clear from day one that we aren't getting dance bangers here, so if anyone was expecting that, you have deluded yourself! Just huff your poppers and wait for the remixes, sistren.

lol a few years back Spotify recommended them to me and I got so into their album and then like, two weeks later I realized they were a Christian group and every song was about God and not women.

Genius was more of a Diplo showcase, Audio was essentially just a Sia song, but this feels like a natural and impressive mesh of all three artists and it's great!

There is a synth riff in this that is a beautiful callback "Call Your Girlfriend" and it's like getting hit with the nostalgia bat.

I guess I'm just hoping that this quiet period between seasons of The Voice is so she can get some downtime to rest and chill with family before The Voice starts up again and the tour. At this point, they might as well do a Deluxe re-release or a follow-up and ticket bundle to maximize on it. Launching a tour this far out from MoL would be a waste, since by the end of it, her next album will be basically due.
Launching the tour and album while ON The Voice might help, but that show hasn't launched anyone's career except Adam and Blake's in the (what feels like) 500 seasons it's been on.

The video is a slay, the remixes knock, and the song deserves to smash. It looks like it's getting a HAC push rather than a country or pop push, which hopefully pays off.
