Between ALMA and Sigrid, the Scandinavian girls are bringing it this year. I love this, but it really sounds like something CHR would pay dust even when this genre was big on radio *cough*Closer by Tegan and Sara*cough*

This is SICKENING. That post-chorus breakdown is a work of art.

I haven't been following her album cycle closely, so forgive me. But I just heard Love So Soft on the radio and thought - are they sending anything else from this album to CHR? Or are they killing it after one ok single? (Like Miley did recently, though I guess she tried with Younger Now) No one is certain, though it's probably going to be 'not sending to CHR unless it takes off elsewhere' from here on out. For now, IDTAY has only impacted HAC. They're letting this build nicely on HAC, and I'm assuming they'll use its success there in conjunction with a performance once The Voice starts live shows to push it to Pop. Love So Soft struggling on HAC probably left them a little shook so they are taking the chance to re-establish her pedigree on that format to prove to Pop she still has radio presence.

I am living for this pure pop fantasy right now. Between this and Carly coming soon, it's going to be a good year for this freewheeling kind of stuff. Prepare to give her your streams, Little Almanacs

That's a perfect live arrangement and performance of this song.

I prefer Space Cowboy on first listen, but mostly because I love the production and vibe of it.

Saw her in Chicago this week. Her stage presence is on point and her performing skills were great. Her set felt short, but I checked and it was 9 songs, so it was an acceptable amount.

I'm ready. I hope it is a hybrid of Lungs and HBHBHB, like I want Age of Aquarius, dark, mythical storm witch with a heart of light, gold, and ketamine realness.

This is doing much better than I expected on HAC. However, it is no where to be seen on AC. The #50 song only has 18 spins and Kelly isn't on there so she is basically getting no play at all on that format. I thought they pushed it to both HAC and AC? Why would AC completely ignore it? I don't want to read TOO much into it yet, but the coordinated HAC adoption of this so far has an air of Atlantic calling in some ;) ;) favors. Hopefully the adds date can come through and audiences are receptive and deliver our queen a hit.

Robyn and Carly in the same year would really put 20gayteen over the top.

Please, excuse my ignorance, but what would be the Stapleton route? I know him, listen to him, but I don't follow him that much, so I don't know. The Stapleton route is an artist releasing an album without any single at radio. The lead single (following his last 2 releases) is usually not any of the preordered singles released ahead of the album. At the end of the day I won’t blame her if she pays radio dust considering how they treated her last era {Spoiler} It should be noted that it’s not a new thing in country music as back in the day some artists released the lead single the week the album dropped... Hell, they paid her dust on her first album too. Merry Go Round peaked at #10, and Blowin' Smoke squeaked in to #23. She's been successful without them and hopefully she can just keep doing her own thing and stay winning. (Country) Music not the bling!

If she does sign somewhere, or even just does some sort of distribution deal like Macklemore did with The Heist, I wouldn't complain about a re-release of Ephorize this summer.

The “koons” line is iconic, and I’m disgusted to see any of you questioning it. I get why people didn't like it, but it was seriously one of the most iconic things she has done recently. Like, I am not kidding, I see people casually referencing that line STILL TODAY. Sure, maybe some pop stations would have played it more if she had safe, generic lyrics, but I would not trade pop culture being blessed with that Koons line over a slightly higher pop radio peak lmao. Applause is truly that song in her discography that did way more than people gave it credit for. The fact that very straight guy I know stanned it still kills me. And, looking back at how everyone melted down on its performance versus Roar, I think that Applause has aged much better. The club still goes off with the offbeat clapping during the spelling lesson, doing the choreo, and trying to spell ARTPOP with their fingers at the end.

The “koons” line is iconic, and I’m disgusted to see any of you questioning it. The back-to-back inversion lines (the koons and pop culture/art ones) are so great. I also stan "nostalgia is for GEEKS" [makes glasses with hands over one eye] Applause is a bop, the lyrics are amazing, and it can't be reasonably denied.

I just really really really hope she doesn't do another co-headliner amphitheater tour. Those venues are ugly, impersonal, and usually have miserable sound.

Her projects since The Fame have all felt like they've carried a burden of some sort, and The Cure was the first song of hers in years that's felt "free," but even that had some tragic undertones in its origin. I think that's the concept I'd like to see from her the most. What does a happy, free Gaga sound like?

If she doesn't release something by the end of this month, I'm going to turn straight. Uh oh. I'm heterosexual and I'm upset.

Just like someone making art out of used coke bottles, Maren has created a something great from this recycled bop!

The only omission is "Sanctuary" Opening & Ending. Otherwise, this is simply amazing!!!!! Maybe it'll open the door for more Japanese artists to make their music internationally available like South Korea does. Seriously. The Japanese industry already got snatched by Kpop because of how slow they were to adapt, and they don't seem to be in any hurry to try and capitalize on global listening audiences.

She apparently had a meeting with Capitol records a few days ago. The mainstream dominance is upon us. God bless I hope she gets paid and they are ready to invest in her growth as an artist.

Any song with a "BABY" will hook me. That and the gaps between lines in the chorus are my weakness.

Homegirl was right on the money when she went for the all-black-and-gold aesthetic for this era. The visual consistency and quality are the big changes for this era. Wrapped in Red was the other era that had a very identifiable and high-quality aesthetic for her.

That 2012 getting-ready-for-weekly-TV diet is back. She looks fantastic. I don’t know what Atlantic bribes her with to change stylists but it was worth it. Queen of Xylitol coming through

I am semi-torn on this. I think it sounds pretty good as-is for radio, but part of me wouldn't complain if we got a little bit more of the kick drum in the chorus. It's less of an issue than in Medicine, but there is still a lack of instrumental transition into the chorus to signify "HERE IS MY CHORUS" that helps on radio. I just *wish* upon wish this song was better. By their own admission its only real artistic structure is one that shows its range, as opposed to having intrinsic artistic merit. It needs to be/should be When I Was Your Man/Someone Like You quality, and it just...isn't. Agreed. It feels like they were aiming for a simple ballad with a focus on the emotional heft and delivery, but it is so busy vocally that there's no where for her or the listener to breathe. (Note that there is actually no breath after first "I don't think about you" in the chorus) I'd also throw in Adele's All I Ask, which has a run at the beginning of its chorus too, but then gives a big sweeping melody that's a lot more organic. The part that works best for me on that front is the bridge where the music is stripped down completely and her Ee Ee Ee Ee is much more tender.

What did they do with Sia? Performance slot but shut out with 0 wins. It wasn't just a performance slot! They had her perform right before the SOTY category (with Kristen Wiig filling the Maddie role) and then gave the award to Stay With Me.

You know what, if they DARE do Kesha like they did Sia with Chandelier back in 2015, I will personally spend my life working to assume control of The Recording Academy and cancel the Grammys forever.
