This is actually his second biggest single ever at his core format. But whatever.

I'm not sure why people are acting like the Rihanna incident is going to prevent Chris from ever having good PR again. Ozzy Osbourne nearly choked his wife to death in a drunken rage in the late '80s. Flash forward 15 years and...yeah.

This is hollywood, right? this is the music biz, right? most people live in lalaland, right? nothing is forever gone or done. No matter the background issues or scandal. Just remember.
Can we now move pass this topic. Don't know why it was even brought up in the first place on a chart thread. :/

I'm not sure why people are acting like the Rihanna incident is going to prevent Chris from ever having good PR again. Ozzy Osbourne nearly choked his wife to death in a drunken rage in the late '80s. Flash forward 15 years and...yeah. "Graffiti" flopped for a reason, and NOT first and foremost because of the incident (even though the dust was admittedly still settling at the time of its release). It flopped because it was a hastily-produced, discombobulated, thematically incoherent record that, at its center, revealed a troubled young man who spent half the time self-righteously bragging about how he was all that and a bag of chips on every level and the other half offering commentary on the incident defensively, with the best thing he could trot out as a lead release a song about seeing how many brand names he could reference, and transform some honey's life like Optimus Prime. "Graffiti" flopped because it was a terrible, unfocused mess of an album that failed in all attempts: whether in the attempt of making a statement, in the attempt of making a work of art, in the attempt of delivering emotionally-accessible content or in the attempt of producing a collection of infectious dance/club songs. Period. "Deuces", not surprisingly, is striking a chord. Because it is a well-crafted, well-produced, accessible record with a tight hook that finds Brown in fighting form but also doesn't come across as overreaching, where he wisely chooses to let the beat and the punchline do most of the talking. I say Teenage Dream holds on this week @ #1, with Bruno Mars taking it the next week until maybe Rihanna. So far this year (at week 38) there have been 10 #1's. Let's stats for previous years: 2009 - By week 38, 8 songs had been @ #1 (with one of them SL a holdover from the previous year), and there were 5 songs more to reach that position. 2008 - By week 38, there had been 10 songs @ #1. 4 more songs reached that position until the end of the year. Years 2007 and 2006 can't really compare cuz digital downloads were lower back them, and that allowed more songs to reach #1 (17 and 19 respectively). So going by my little analysis, I'd say that between 4-6 more tracks are going to reach #1 this year. (I'd like more but whatever). PS: I'd say the the one who is going to benefit the most from the VMA'S is Bruno Mars, and that will allow him to reach #1. I think he will perform JTWYA, and he will nail it. Unlike a lot of his peers (Taio, Jason, etc.) Bruno IS a vocalist. All my very humble 2c of course

^ I can see Eminem getting a nice boost from the VMAs as well, since he's opening. Anyone know what he's performing? I hope it's a Not Afraid/LTWYL medley

Ozzy Osbourne nearly choked his wife to death in a drunken rage in the late '80s. Flash forward 15 years and...yeah. Nowadays it would've been a bigger deal than in the 80's. Also it happened pre-OJ Simpson. However, I would argue that Chris Brown was so young when his incident happened. So of course you aren't going to hold it against a young boy for the rest of his life. That's just crazy. He made a mistake and did his punishment and now it's time to move on and forgive him. If it becomes a re-occuring theme with him then we have a serious problem on our hands.

If Teenage Dream holds on for another week Bruno Mars might not get a chance at #1 because Rihanna is coming out with her new single and she's going to blow him away. He maybe able to get a second week because even if Rihanna does debut at #1 she will probably fall from #1 the very next week unless of course she debuts with higher than 500k the first week out. I think Rihanna has the material to potentially debut with extremely high sales. Either way I'd say in 3 weeks BM could hit #1.

Last year she came off a successful era and RR was not the huge hit everyone anticipated....I don't think a #1 is guaranteed for her this time either!

I don't think Rihanna can debut at #1. Is the song being played somewhere yet? She'd need 300k of sales and even Taylor Swift couldn't do that and Russian Roulette only went Top 10.

Taylor swift couldn't do it because her label released the track mid-week due to the single being leaked early no?

If a track like OG doesn't give Rihanna her Itunes mojo back nothing will.

Interesting to see "Need You Now" fall three-fourths of a million in audience today, especially with most singles rebounding after Labor Day weekend declines.

She didn't almost die. Why because 'not almost dying' would excuse domestic violence? I was responding to his absurd claim. How did you gather that I was excusing domestic violence? I think you're just looking for conflict. Find it elsewhere. I don't like Chris Brown, but it has nothing to do with the domestic violence charge. It happened, it was bad, it was also over a year ago. Get over it.

I can't believe the rate at which Rihanna is pumping out music. It's like an album a year since her debut, no?
"Rude Boy" had iTunes "mojo," didn't it?
