Have you realised that Rihanna 's 2 of 6 No.1's is featured artists (Live your life & Love the way you lie) behind the hottest stars of 2008 and 2010, T.I. and Eminem? Her biggest hit has featured artist Jay-Z (most succesfull rapper of last 20 years) and 4 of the rest of her top-tens has featured artists (Sean paul, Jeezy, ne-Yo & Kanye West & Jay-Z).
None of mariah's big hits all of these 20 years , Mariah was featured artist. Never really wanted help of no one's fame or instant fame... Other artists used Mariah a lot. For example she used Jay-z when he wasn't so big as he is these days.

I'm a big Mariah fan (More so then a Rihanna fan, I've been with Mariah for 11 years fan-wise) but you clearly don't know what your saying and if you're trying to discredit her FORCE as an artist and pitting her success on other your fully stupid. First off she has SEVEN #1's not six and Umbrella is HER song, she made that a hit.. Jay has a great little intro but he did not have anything to do with it being such a smash! Next up her featured songs she ALWAYS gives them that extra magic it is NEVER a case of her riding coat tails and it will take a pure DEAF and hating ass bitch to say other wise. Eminem is a force, a true force and his album is selling like hot cakes but Not Afraid was #1 for a single week while Love the Way You Lie was #1 for 7 weeks and even before it was selected as a single THAT was the song that boomed up to the #1 slot as opose to another song or the Lil Wayne or P!nk collab...why do you think that is? RIHANNA! Live Your Life, T.I. is amazing but Rihanna hands down made it what it was, the chorus is the epic part of the song that makes everyone feel great and she rocks that shit SOLO on her own tour so what do you think that says? She can pull it off live better then T.I. could while he bounces to her backtrack... and RUN THIS TOWN... man EVERYONE killed that joint and Rihanna was the princess, she did not ride any coat tails, that song was originally HERS! And Break It Off is a great song, two island people they did their effin thing! It was a hit without release so sshh. And I won't even go into your Jeezy and Ne-Yo blabber those aren't even huge hits Rihanna has made 10x bigger tracks on her own. Mariah's features for other artists are flops, other than Endless Love I Know What You Want which they didn't even go #1. My Love, Make Me Wanna, Things that U Do etc are all mediocore features that weren't hits... All of Rihanna's features went to #1 other than RTT which went to #2...her magic cannot be denied and for you to sit and act like it's others who handed her the success is ridiculous... Don't Stop the Music, Shut Up And Drive, SOS, Unfaithful, Disturbia, Take a Bow, Rude Boy etc... all big hits and SOLO and this is even more laughable that she has a SOLO single that is MURDERING radio right now!!! I believe Rihanna has what it takes to be a remembered artist, an icon of sorts... for her ridiculously large amount of hits (Which shows no signs of slowing down), Fashion (she's really set herself as a premiere Fashion icon and thats growing also), a book, perfume etc shes expanding her brand.. she's going into movies..hopefully she is good!  etc etc.. people always say she will be gone but I think she will be doing her thing years from now. She can't always be the young hot pop star with the hits but i think she will transition well in the future but shes so young right now, thats quite awhile away..i mean shes younger then Ke$ha, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry despite being in the game longer |

I believe Rihanna has what it takes to be a remembered artist, an icon of sorts... for her ridiculously large amount of hits (Which shows no signs of slowing down), Fashion (she's really set herself as a premiere Fashion icon and thats growing also), a book, perfume etc shes expanding her brand.. she's going into movies..hopefully she is good! etc etc.. people always say she will be gone but I think she will be doing her thing years from now. She can't always be the young hot pop star with the hits but i think she will transition well in the future but shes so young right now, thats quite awhile away..i mean shes younger then Ke$ha, Lady GaGa and Katy Perry despite being in the game longer She'll be a remembered artist. Icon...verdict is out on that. With the fact that she is more of a singles artist, struggles to sell albums at high volumes, and the fanbase is ?able (tour sales speak the truth) the hope is that although she is fortunate to have hits that she will actually push units. I have all four of her studio albums...it's embarassing to see her be pimped out so much just to sell what she does album wise. Love her fashion...not my style but her evolution style wise is remarkable. To be objective, do you think that she will be remembered more for her looks/edgy fashion. She is not a performer...not know for her vocals and many consider only as good as her latest single. Anyways, it looks as though Katy will be #1 for awhile. She might switch back and forth with that Bruno guy but unless Riri pushes massive single units first week out I think teenage dream has the sales and airplay increase to stay #1 well within the next month. This is around the time that the charts begin to be a bit boring and redundant until November/December when everyone drops new records and shakes up the hot 100...can't wait. |

I really don't think she struggles. GGGB was a huge seller by the time it was done and everyone knows that was her real international breakout album. Rated R was not in the works, I think it's an amazing album but it was not her thing she just needed to get it out as it was a personal way for her to get through all the events at that time, I'm sure if she kept the formula going had that event not happened the 4th album would have sold the same way GGGB did cause it would have been targeting the same audience so really I think by the end of this albums eras if she still can't sell the way GGGB did or near it then I guess that's that, she's a singles artist. She's a household name though so really not much can be said to knock her in that regard and she surely isn't known for being a performer (a fate she has plenty of time to change if she sees fit which I hope she does) but as I said she's going into so many domains now, her best accomplishments are yet to come I think. I mean with all she's accomplished so far at 22, the world is her oyster. And sure you can say she's being pimped out but Rihanna herself says she'd be bored to death if otherwise, it was even her choice to get back to music so quickly after the incident...so really it's her choice. And don't question the fanbase, Rihanna has herself a very loyal one, she always does great in Europe and Canada it was only the US that she struggled in so that doesn't speak for fanbase at all. The fact she successfully sold out Madison Square and Staples Center etc is great to me as I always thought she should have been doing much smaller shows first, she really has not taken the time to build herself a proper audience in the US so to jump on a limb with the arenas was hasty to me... GaGa use to do little clubs and theatres so Rihanna should have done the same, especially with the personal album Rated R is...not to mention how much I'd love for Rihanna to up her live game! She can do it!! Like I don't know why choreo isn't in her sets, she can easily do it. She has swag but I don't want her to prance around stage anymore, I want her to give f**king spectacles!!! lol |
