TREY SONGZ - Bottoms Up f/Nick Minaj: 43.626 (+ 1.311)
I'd love to see increases like this for the next 7 days! I'm so glad they're gonna go out on a limb and send it to Pop.

I can't believe the rate at which Rihanna is pumping out music. It's like an album a year since her debut, no? "Rude Boy" had iTunes "mojo," didn't it? I don't think RB ever hit #1 did it? I remember thinking with a Rihanna radio hit that big it should have.

RB spent 4 weeks at #2 and a total of 10 weeks in the top 10.
It's peak was huge but it didn't have much longevity, especially compared to her previous massive songs.

Any way you look at it, "Rude Boy" was a hit.
But that said, "Rude Boy" will be significantly less remembered than "Umbrella", "Pon de Replay", "Disturbia", "Don't Stop The Music" and possibly "SOS". Those, I think, are her five signature hits to date.

^ Unfaithful is a really really remembered song. I haven't heard it nearly as much as her other hits recently. "Pon de Replay" may have never went #1, but it retains an inescapable presence in clubs and gold airplay. Same with "Umbrella", "Disturbia", "Don't Stop The Music" and, to a slightly lesser extent, "SOS". I'm sure "Unfaithful" still gets a respectable amount of airplay, but I don't see it being a signature hit of hers nonetheless. Same with "Rude Boy" or "Take a Bow". Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

I think we agree mostly on the least memorable ones, but I disagree with some of your placement of her more memorable ones, especially "Pon de Replay", which is easily a defining hit of her career. I also categorize by color the following: Blue is Signature Status, Green is Major Staying Power, Orange is Moderate Staying Power, Red is Minor Staying Power and Black is Altogether Forgettable. * Umbrella Pon de Replay Don't Stop the Music Live Your Life Love the Way You Lie Disturbia Run This Town SOS Unfaithful Rude Boy Take a Bow Hate That I Love You Hard Break It Off Russian Roulette Shut Up and Drive Te Amo (Overall, Not Domestically) We Ride (Overall, Not Domestically) If I Ever See Your Face Again If It's Lovin' That You Want Rockstar 101 Roll It* Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

I agree that her signature song is Umbrelle, with Don't Stop The Music in a second place.... but LMAO at people saying that Pon De Replay is more memorable than Rude Boy.
Rude Boy is one of her top 5 singles easily IMO

Rude Boy will become Rihanna's Baby Boy, a forgotten smash. I seriously doubt that. Rude Boy will have recurrent status. Baby Boy would have been more memorable if not for the stupid featuring of Sean Paul and his incoherent mumble.

Rude Boy is one of her top 5 singles easily IMO Rude Boy is only memorable because of how universally hated it was among the public. Seriously. Most people with half a mind got so sick of her, between RR, RB and LTWYL. Like shut the f**k up and sing about dancing and fucking already. However, I digress. "Pon de Replay" >>> Rude Boy

From my experience blogs and internet communities, that had even disliked Rated R, typically said they were a fan.

Sean Paul was hot at the time and I actually think he fits well within that type of song.

Rude Boy was the only single from her Rated R album that I loved - Hard and Te Amo were pretty good but forgettable. Lyrically it was nothing special, but listening to that catchy chorus put me on a high

Russian Roulette > Te Amo > Hard > Rude Boy > Rockstar
Although Russian Roulette wasn't a good single choice, it was the best song.

Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus I think I'm going to disagree. Most of these songs were one format hit. Pon De Replay isn't really remembered accept for the fact that it's Rihanna's first hit. Rude Boy was a hit across the board.
