Simon Cowell's mentioned Carrie a few times while promoting X-Factor's arrival to America: Simon's interview with Roughstock's Matt Bjorke: Matt: Why does it seem like country music has helped to give past Idols sustainable careers, maybe more so than other genres?
Simon: Well, it was interesting. With Carrie Underwood, from the first day she came into the audition. It was honestly like everybody else was in black in white and this girl was in full color. She was the absolute total package. She looked the part, she sounded the part, and most of all, she knew who she wanted to be. So I was really one of the first to support her and I would love to find somebody like another Carrie Underwood. But what we look for on this show, all these shows is to find somebody who’s unique. So if we find a country singer through the process, I’ll be thrilled. A live Twitter Q&A: @txmusicgirl76: What makes you think someone is a star when they walk on stage?
Simon: Like Carrie Underwood and Leona Lewis, if you've got it, it's really obvious. An interview with The Huffington Post[/i]: Q: In your ideal world, what kind of artist would you land?
Cowell: Well you want somebody who doesn't really exist at the moment. Because there's no point in trying to find the next Lady Gaga, it won't be as good, and the same applies to Justin Bieber or Katy Perry or Adele. You want to find someone like a Carrie Underwood or a Liona Lewis, when they walk onto your show, you go, apart from the fact that I think you're going to win, you're going to have a career. ^^ Is this going to be televised ? All Together Now – A Celebration of Service airs 3/28 at 8PM Eastern on NBC.

Speaking of Simon, the other Simon, I didn't know Carrie is not with 19 anymore but not that surprised she stuck with Simon F on his new venture. www.xixentertainment.com/Carrie posted at the OFC! She talks alot about the new upcoming album and her experience last night. Go check it out!

It's a good blog! I love how she told the worry worts to relax. New music will be ready when it's ready and she wants to make this one really special. :)

Gah. She is makin' this next album sound like a masterpiece -- can't wait. And, not to rush the process or anything but when would be the appropriate time for a Fourth Album thread? When co-writes start showing up over at the songwriting databases? Dudley -- Queen of the Carrie stans -- would have to be around to author it, obv.

Thanks very much, Typo. ^^ Speaking of Simon (Cowell), if Carrie is releasing a new record this fall, I would hope (and expect) a performance on the upcoming summer X-Factor season, which would fit perfectly time-wise for a later summer/early fall lead single release.

As much as Simon seems to love Carrie, would the U.S. X-Factor really let a former Idol winner perform on their show? Wouldn't that be like advertising the competition? I'd love to see a performance there, though. Better yet, a performance on the UK version of X-Factor. Hopefully there's some international promotion for the next album.

I just saw a commercial for Soul Surfer! :) It was just like the trailers we've seen, but it was an entire minute long, I'm pretty sure. It was pretty cool.

Did she say anything specific about the new album? She's written some new songs that she loves, but she wants to take as much in as she possibly can to make this album great. She also said that "it wouldn't be too long", which is a great indication that, depending on her definition of "long", it could be right on track with her usual releasing periods of every other year (so this year) in end of the 4th quarter. Glad she told us all to calm down, too. Obviously she has plans that she's hiding. :)

^^ Is this going to be televised ? I need media of those performances, especially 'Instand Karma'- I absolutely love that song and would love it more with Carrie's vocals on it ! On NBC, May 24th I believe.

I wonder if they'll televise all three of her songs? I doubt it as it's an hour long TV special, but it was a 2 hour celebration. We'll see, I'm excited nonetheless!

Ohhh! I thought "Reach Out" and "Touch" were two different songs, or at least thats how I read it. Lol, I didn't realize that the song is titled "Reach Out and Touch".... With that said, I think both her performances will be televised. They'll probably spread them out though...

"Songs Like This" is horrible, couldn't they have chosen a better song to play? During the "Carnival Ride" era they played "The More Boys I Meet" didn't they? What is country radios obsession with playing the horrible album tracks. I agree about SLT but "The More Boys I Meet" is one of her better album tracks.

It looks like Carrie will be performing "Undo It" at the ACMs.
In this video:
The blogger is a show producer with the entire show planned out on a tack board. At 49 seconds, there is a yellow card right above his head. It's Carrie's card and it says she's performing "Undo It". To view go to the highest resolution possible and have it on full screen.

Oh, god. How ridiculous. I'd rather see her perform Inside Your Heaven.

^^My thought exactly. Undo It is not going to help Carrie in any kind of way. It may increase Undo It's sales by a few hundred or a thousand, but that's about it. It could have something to do with what that Deliah_Lambert twitter account apparently said about how the ACM's weren't happy with artists performing new songs (Miranda is performing a brand new single). But still, you would think an artist of Carrie's stature should have more leeway as to what he or she wants to perform. I hate comparing Carrie and Taylor, but if Taylor can perform an album track at the ACM's, Carrie should be able to as well. Honestly, if Carrie is performing Undo It, another country artist should have her spot. It's not like Carrie needs an ACM performance now since she's between albums, and she definitely doesn't need another performance of Undo It. Oh, god. How ridiculous. I'd rather see her perform Inside Your Heaven. Thanks for the laugh. But, I actually agree with you especially if it is stripped down like she did during her Carnival Ride tour when she sung a part of that song preceeding I Know You Won't. Beautiful!

I'm sure she'll do something different with it though. I hope it's different like BHC at the Grammys though... I'm sure it won't be bad... it's just redundant to say the least. A huge opportunity quite possibly wasted...

^But I wasn't all that crazy about BHC at the Grammys. Yea, she nailed it with her vocals, but I wasn't a fan of that style at the end. Besides, I could handle BHC being performed at the Grammys despite being old. The Grammys have a huge audience and are showcased all over the world. So, even though BHC was old and had already peaked, it was still good that Carrie got to perform one of her songs on the Grammys, and she still got to showcase the song to some others who might not have heard the song before.
But, the ACM's are a different story. The ACM's are a country award show. Carrie is one of the top names in country music. Undo It has ran its course on country radio. It was a hit, but it's over! This song will not be exposed to anyone new. And, on another note, Undo It was not nearly the megahit on country radio that BHC was.
Yea, she may change Undo It some, but honestly, I don't care. I'm actually afraid she'll try to go overboard with changing it up. I love Carrie, but this would be just a waste of a performance.

I was just showing an example of a performance that was far away from the original. I mean, the thing with "Undo It" is it's a redundant song with little to play with from a creative prospective. Maybe she could have dancers... There really isn't much to the song. She could maybe add a chorus with sick, soaring vocals... Maybe she can incorporate cover songs like she did with "Songs Like This" on the tour... I really don't know, but I hope she nails it!

I was just saying I wasn't crazy about it but could understand why BHC was performed at the Grammys at that time. And, eh about the dancers. I've never been crazy about having dancers on country music award shows. Sometimes, they are ok, but for the most part, I think these type of dancers belong in pop, not country. Of course I hope she does good as well. But, it's going to take a lot for her to wow me with another performance of Undo It. Carrie has wowed me on multiple occasions, but this is one time I don't see it happening. The song itself won't let that happen. Ok, I have commented on this enough. Dudley will scold me :)

Guys, I don't think UI is right. Delilah Lambert's Twitter confirmed that Miranda won't be performing "Heart Like Mine", yet they have that listed on the yellow card right next to Carrie's card.
However, if it is right, then BLAH. She'll rock it, of course, but WHY?! Urgh.

It looks like Carrie will be performing "Undo It" at the ACMs. I'm impressed with your eagle eye ! If Carrie truly is performing 'Undo It', I would rather she not perform at all. I don't understand why would not perform an album (non-single) track from 'Play On' instead (hint: 'Someday'). To perform a single over a year old that was not even a monster single is just

Also note that it lists Reba as performing "If I Were A Boy", as well.
I don't believe the board at all. Reba wouldn't do the same song twice at the two biggest Country awards shows.

This was performed at the CMT Awards...9 months ago. Why is she performing it at another country awards show? It doesn't make sense. I don't see this actually happening.

But, the song is Reba's current single and is climbing the charts. I could see why she would perform the song again. On the other hand, the fact that Deliah_Lambert said Miranda was performing a new song, and Heart Like Mine is listed is baffling. Either one of them is wrong or she is performing twice? The latter wouldn't surprise me.
