Thanks Vinman! Who wants to bet Carrie specifically asked to be called Mrs. Mike Fisher? Haha! And I love her emphasis on her jersey at the end!

ACM Girls Night Out preview: Kinda late but here's a nice Carrie mention from Suzanne Alexander's ACM Awards coverage: Rehearsals for the show were going on too. Backstage I could see in the monitor Carrie Underwood onstage singing ‘Undo It.’ She hadn’t had her makeup done yet and was donning a pair of sunglasses. She still looked and sounded amazing. Just then, someone walked by and said, ‘Don’t you think she should save it for the show?’ because she was singing full on. I thought to myself, ‘I don’t think she knows how not to sing – ‘cause she’s that good.’

Marti Frederiksen tweeted that he has written with Carrie, Kara DioGuardi, & Luke Laird: ![](http://i56.tinypic.com/nx6is9.jpg) Girls' Night Out Stars Reflect on Memorable Night: The men of country music weren't shy about honoring their lovely counterparts during Girls' Night Out: Superstar Women of Country, which premieres Friday (April 22) on CBS. The music-packed special honors the Judds, Miranda Lambert, Loretta Lynn, Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Carrie Underwood and Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles with testimonials and performances by Jason Aldean, John Fogerty, Vince Gill, Little Big Town, Rascal Flatts and Blake Shelton.
Backstage at the Las Vegas taping earlier this month, many of the stars visited with CMT Insider host Katie Cook. Surprisingly, Underwood told Cook the night was "wonderful and embarrassing." She continued, "You're up there and everybody's looking at you. But the best thing about it was the company for sure. I mean, come on. Reba and Vince for me, growing up in Oklahoma, they were -- and are -- it."
In addition, Gill spoke generously of Underwood after providing the guitar accompaniment to her version of "How Great Thou Art."
"When she sings, people respond," he said. "It was really a treat to be out there and watch her shine like that. I was thrilled that she picked that song to sing. I told her, 'I can't sing a verse because I can't get through it. I just can't sing that song.' It's the first song I remember hearing as a little boy, so it was pretty special that she chose that."

HGTA was FAN-TAS-TIC!!
I wonder why Carrie didn't sing a single line in Coal Miner's Daughter... looked kinda like she didn't know the song... weird and a bit upsetting!!

HGTA on Girl's Night Out is her best performance of all time. I'm going to have to agree.... :'( so amazing. American Idol should have a Gospel night and have Carrie sing HGTA on the show.

I'm rewatching the west coast feed and just realized --
During the Martina McBride set, it was a total Idol reminiscence for Carrie. LBT sang "Independence Day", then LBT and Martina sang "When Will I Be Loved". :)

That HGTA performance was the best vocal of Carrie's career, hands down. The emotion, Vince's version of JTTW, the guitar solos, and Carrie's vocals just made for a perfect storm of perfection. Damn, that girl can flat out sing.

:oh MY !!
I have heard Carrie sing this live in person, but this rousing perfomance in HQ in front of her genre peers has to be one the highlights of her career, especially considering how everyone in the arena was brought to their feet, applause and all, awe, and even tears from country royalty :'(
As many of y'all know, I have criticized Carrie's chest voice in the past, but in this performance, she brought a tone in her upper chest register that I have not heard from her in such a long time. Generally speaking, when a vocalist sings in his/her upper register from chest voice, s/he may "cheat" by singing from the head, throat, or nose to buffer and compensate for a risker, possibly weaker chest voice which should originate from the diaphragm. Country and pop singers are probably the biggest culprits, IMO.
Carrie saaaang almost entirely from the diaphragm for all the money notes of the performance. In particular, the next to last "art" at the very end just pierced right through the arena from her chest. Honestly, that was probably the strongest and tonally purest chest voice in an upper register/5th octave note that I have heard from Carrie in years.
In just a few weeks, we have arguably two of Carrie's best performances in HQ ever- another one to add to her "Best of Live" DVD ! I've already watched this video at least five times and still my mouth is agape in awe during the ending !
