SuBo (Christmas Album): 1st week: 500k 2nd week: 300k 3rd week (Black Friday): 500k 4th week: 500k 5th week: 550k 6th week: 600k 7th week: 750k 8th week (week after Christmas day): 500k Total: 4.2 million ROTFL... That's really funny. I thought Taylor Swift and Mariah Carey stans were the worst. I think these Boyle stans take cake.

^ Last year the ¨hype¨was fresh in the collective mind, this year not so much.
I'd say she sells around what Bocelli did last year with his Christmas album, or 200-400k more, but not enough to take on Eminem. Swift will see a decline in sales with this album, it might go 3x Platinum, but it will take a while.
But hey, Boyle and her people are smart in striking while the iron is hot, cuz once the American ¨Boyle¨ is ¨discovered¨ next year at the US version of the X Factor, then it's all over for her, at least on this side of the pond.

I really don't get the Susan Boyle hype at all. It's not like she composed any of the songs in her albums. It really just shows how stupidly sentimental the general public is. I don't see how this is relevant to success and sales. Elvis Presley never composed anything, nor the big voiced divas of the 90s did most of the composing. People buy something because they like how it sounds, not because it's the same person writing and singing the words. Outside fans and certain critics, people don't care about bragging rights if they like what they hear. And of course Boyle will be over when other phenomenons appear, it happened with the American Idol winners too. Even Leona is close to being over in the UK even though her debut sold 3 million in the UK alone! But these events are completely unrelated to scoring the best selling album of a year.

The only album i can see beating EM is Taylor. i think it will be very close between the two. Bookmarked. Someone's mad that Susan is gonna push their fave out of the spotlight they spent the whole year trying to get in, in only a few weeks. Susan to Taylor ->

NO need for Queen Leona in this convo. LOL. She will be back on the next album. To be honest with you the Uk market (world) kinda sucks at the moment. if your not doing that whole Dance/Faux R&B crap your singles wont be very successful. Really want my girls leona, Duffy, Adele, Amy to come back hard like 2007/2008

Taylor Swift's music is childish, but at least she composes it herself. PS: I'm not an Eminem stan at all, not even a fan btw. Subos ability to sell this year is dependent on one critical factor did she use the money from last yr to get a make over? if yes then she wont sell much . its just that all the ugly ppl use her as a role model. Dont forget she is a novelty act and novelty acts dont last long

Not sure Susan Boyle is a novelty act though

but SuBo and xmas songs is a winning combination. The clip on iTunes of the first song is amazing. She'll eat up the competition, from the debut all the way thru xmas. What else are you gonna buy your mom and grandma for xmas, huh?

Mariah's xmas > Kat McPhee's > Boyle's
don't need to hear them. Though Boyle's is obvi gonna sell the most.

Susan's album is not even going to be all Xmas songs. It's another case of Céline Dion..

It's another case of Céline Dion.. Oh em gee. LOL I know you stan for Céline but face it, her album wasn't 100% Christmas tunes. The singles that promoted it were also typical Céline AC ballads.

I realize this ( four of the sixteen tracks featured on the album weren't Christmas songs); I just don't see what the big deal is (clearly it's all tied up around the "best-selling female Christmas album" title, but the album is still indeed a Christmas album so a select few tracks not being Christmas songs is a moot point).

That wasn't even my point. I just said Susan's album will be the same. You jumped on conclusions too soon. And, if we have to discuss that, at this point 80k copies won't make much difference. Mimi has been outselling Céline for years now.

I wasn't even aware Serj Tankian had released a new album this past week! That's an impressive opening for John Legend, considering the complete absence of a breakout single and the fact "Wake Up!" is more of a collaborative side project in many respects additionally. He appears to have garnered a loyal cult following, and the future looks bright for him. The same can't be said for Weezer. That's a rather nasty spill for "Hurley". Looks like not even their best reviews since "Maladroit" are proving helpful. It's interesting seeing Trace Adkins move up in placement this week. He doesn't exactly have a breakout hit on Country radio presently, yet he's already outpacing his preceding release "X" handedly. Namaste, Lisping Hibiscus

hmm, Impossible was a midsized hit so I did expect it to at least make the top 50.
