Katy was never a strong album artist and I would argue most Pop stars today aren't either. Consider GaGa, with the incredible success she's had and the fact that she's sold over 26 million digital singles from the album, the album has only shifted about 4 million. If this were back in the day, this album would have been diamond by now i agree. also, look at flo-rida

No mention of McPhee...I'm predicting under 5k. A shame... To be fair it IS a Christmas album and it's only October so it won't reach its highest week sales until late Nov/Dec probably, especially since that's when the majority of the promo will be Oh I agree but I wish there was a bit more of a push have it debut with at least 10-20k

"fanbases" move on after a while. Eminem will eventually grow older and his fanbase will too. There are countless examples of artists in every generation that were bigger than life at one point then they aged and their fanbases moved on to find other things to listen to. This will even happen to Eminem, Jay-Z, P!nk and Britney Spears. They are not immune to aging past theor audience. It may or may not happen soon but rest assured, at some point it will happen. Every artist at some point gets old. Yep. I'll never understand why fans of certain acts think people should be into them until the end of their career. The whole industry is built on moving onto the next best thing. Same goes for all those 'comebacks' that are wished for a lot of divas who went off track several years ago.

I have my favorite artists and they will always be my favorite artists. Eminem, Tool.
I don't see anybody who could challenge either as my favorite.

Yes, the music could seem stale and old after a while or the artist in question could be stale and old Tastes naturally change as you get older

Maybe Kat's sales will pick up once Christmas gets closer. Typically, Christmas albums don't sell big until it's closer to Christmas.

The Band Perry is outperforming predictions at this rate. yeah it certainly seems that way! :o But keep in mind that Hits typically gets country sales first, so the early building chart typically shows disproportionate success for country albums.

Nice to see Sara hanging in there. Only a 5% drop this week!
Bruno didn't take too bad of a tumble percentage wise. There were a lot of debuts this week (along w/ the Lil' Wayne resurgence), so his position isn't really all that bad.

Wow, I wasn't expecting Darius Rucker to have a six-figure debut. That's quite impressive, considering he has yet to demonstrate longevity as a solo artist and is essentially a singles artist.
