Dance with gangster rap? Don't know anything from either. This can't be good.

Well I haven't heard the Kanye (since when is he a gangster rapper? LOL) version, but "In For The Kill" certainly would fit at more adventurous Alternative stations, IF La Roux were a brand new artist.
Given her CHR success with Bulletproof, though, it's safe to say Alternative PDs won't even consider this one.

Weird choice to send it here, if it really is being sent.
I could see "In For The Kill" (original) doing a little something here, if like Slinky said, she was a brand new artist. But because she had a big CHR hit with "Bulletproof," most Alt PDs are going to just pass over it.
Really weird song though. I kinda love it.

I thought "Bulletproof" could've been a decent-sized Alt hit if they tried it there first.

I thought "Bulletproof" could've been a decent-sized Alt hit if they tried it there first. How do you figure that? I think if bands like MGMT and Metric can score some hits, than this wouldn't sound that out of place with them at all. And the left-field stations would play it either way.

If this sounds anything like Mgmt, then I'd say it has a chance on some stations.

I actually really like it for some reason. Anyway, just shows she went down the wrong path, considering Kanye's with her on this one. Maybe it'll be like Hurricanes from 30STM and be decently good? Who knows.

My CD doesn't have the Kanye West remix of Hurricane.

Artie, do you know about Grooveshark? Since you dislike YouTube, maybe you can listen to songs there, and then you won't be so dreadfully out of the loop.

But if he does that he won't have time to scour Billboard for obscure singles.

Live 105 spun Bulletproof for a few weeks when they decided to put a bunch of hip-hop pop songs into rotation. (The others were Cooler Than Me, Day N Nite, Billionaire, and even Love the Way You Lie.) They dumped them all at the same time.
She had one song that was big on CHR and it's not like she's a core artist yet, so I don't think it's that much of a strike against her. Even though it could fit I think the bigger strike is that this doesn't sound like something that would get too much alternative airplay. Unless her record label decides to pull a Blackneonmumfordcrashtheleephanttrees.

That just hasn't been present in any type of Alternative hit since the nineties, at least.
