What does that have to do with what I said? Uh, everything. You just said "no wonder the album is projected to sell 1 million in the first week" insinuating the album will open so huge because it's available at a broader range of locations. I was simply pointing out that its availability at smaller chains, such as Hot Topic, wasn't going to be a major contributor to the album's opening figure. Speak Now is not the first album that has been available for purchase at or through Hot Topic; they've carried cds from several major artists in the past and even have cds available for purchase at their online store (including Sugarland's latest). Well, they usually don't sell CDs in the store. I know that small retails aren't huge contributors, but they help. Even though it doesn't look like She'll need much help. lol

I saw "Hot Topic" in my local mall selling her album for $25, but it came with a T-shirt of the buyer's choice. That's BS! How the hell do you get "Hot Topic" selling your album, especially a supposed "Country" album. I'm no hater or anything, but I found that to piss me off slightly. No wonder this album is projected to sell 1 million in the first week, next for all we know, furniture stores will be selling the freakin' album! lol.....oh well, if you really want the numbers this day and age, I guess you have to go all out. You're mad cause Taylor is selling CDs at different vendors? I ci.

They have a semi-unconventional sales strategy with this album, and it's been known for awhile. I read an article recently (can't remember where) about places that would be selling Swift's album. Rite Aid is also supposed to be one of those places.

I don't think Susan Boyle will reach 3 million. Why? - no hit single again - this is her second cover album without her own material - novelty has worn off She might have a decent first week (500k+) but The Gift won't be number one for several weeks. And part of me is hoping that Annie Lennox could have the best selling Christmas album but that's not very likely. like i said before. i dont beleive it will do as well as her first album. but 2.2 ish sold is my predection, a hit single isnt too important in this case, as long as she promotes. i dont think the general public care much if its her own material. yes the novelty has worn down but people still like her. 2.2 million, a step down from the 3.8-3.9 million, but a success regardless

I am not saying one will win out over the other I was just wondering why you say that Eminem will win out over Taylor Swift a little bit (thus calling the Eminem win a lock) but.... Taylor Swift winning out over Eminem by a little bit is not possible?

Country music extends its run of #1s to five of the last six weeks as Taylor Swift is poised to make history on next week's chart. At midweek, and barring an iTunes server meltdown or Target suddenly shutting its doors, Swift will score the largest first week ever for a female country artist, besting Shania Twain's Up debut of 874k in 2002. Can she beat Lil Wayne's 1.005m from 2008? She has that number clearly in her sights. And if she does, will it be by enough to unseat Garth Brooks' mark of 1.085m debut with Double Live in 1998? The last time a record debuted at close to or over a million (Lil Wayne in the week ending 6/15/08), the Top 15 totaled almost 2.1m. No such luck next week as it's shaping up to be a whopping 600k less. Here's how it all looks headed into the Halloween weekend. *Taylor Swift (Big Machine) 975k-1m Sugarland (Mercury Nashville) 85-90k Kings of Leon (RCA/RMG) 70-75k Lil Wayne (Cash Money/Universal Motown) 40-45k Eminem (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope) 35-40k Glee Cast Rocky Horror Glee Show (Columbia) 28-32k Elton John & Leon Russell (Decca) 28-32k Rod Stewart (J/RMG) 24-27k Darius Rucker (Capitol Nashville/EMI) 24-27k *Michael Buble Hollywood: The Deluxe EP (Reprise) 21-24k The Band Perry (Universal Republic Nashville) 18-21k Kenny Chesney (BNA/SME Nashville) 18-21k Zac Brown Band (Atlantic) 18-21k Shakira (Epic) 18-21k Trey Songz (Atlantic) 18-21k Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 18-21k *Debuts (10/28p) The #10 album predicted to barely sell above 20k? In the last week of October? That's tragic.

People might, however, grab other albums too. I predict Sugarland can go over 100k

More likely that the crazy traffic to buy Taylor Swift's album is causing the system to freeze. :)

I have a strong feeling taylor's label is buying a lot of her albums just to make sure she goes over a million they must have seen her predictions and topped it up

Really? They probably have instant access to the exact numbers of theor own product and would not rely on industry predictions, they can probably come to these conclusions themselves without the need of Hits Daily Double

Well even if they have access to it, they could have found out how much closer she was to the mark in the midweek and topped it up

I'd give Taylor 2 weeks at #1 on the BB 200. She will obviously hit it, but Susan Boyle will probably end up taking over the #1 spot afterwards. She'll stay #1 on the BB Country Albums, but Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, or Rascal Flatts may overtake her.
She'll debut with around 700k, but I don't think she'll be able to top Eminem. I never believed that she would make a Platinum debut, especially in this economic era.
