I'd give Taylor 2 weeks at #1 on the BB 200. She will obviously hit it, but Susan Boyle will probably end up taking over the #1 spot afterwards. She'll stay #1 on the BB Country Albums, but Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, or Rascal Flatts may overtake her. She'll debut with around 700k, but I don't think she'll be able to top Eminem. I never believed that she would make a Platinum debut, especially in this economic era. Are you referring to Susan Boyle for 700K? If so, maybe If you are referring to Taylor Swift, this is already projected to blow past Eminem's first weke numbers

Plesantly surprised for Taylor. "Mine" doesn't seem anywhere near the hit that "Love Story" was when Fearless was released, so I thought Taylor would've been lucky to sell half her projected numbers.

Well even if they have access to it, they could have found out how much closer she was to the mark in the midweek and topped it up They anticipated this number. That's why they shipped 2 million copies for the first week. Labels expect to sell around half of their shipment in the first week.

Oh my god, it will be a f**king huge first week for Taylor Swift, in terms of sales! I do not care about her music, but for the industry's sake, I hope she tops that 1 million mark. If it happens, it will be something truly amazing!

Susan is predicted to have first week sales of 300k so there's a chance she might not even be able to top Taylor. If Taylor tops the 1m mark, the word of mouth from that alone will probably make even more people want to buy it to see what all the hype is about. I can see her holding on to the top spot for awhile...she might do what Subo did last year.

yes double platinum in 1 week is pretty good what's the largest "first shipment" for an album? I am not sure there are statistics for that There used to be a lag on quick certifications though in case there were returns from retailers, probably not so in this ase though

The largest first shipment I recall is Backstreet Boys' "Black & Blue" with 8 million copies, I think...
They ended up with about 3 million unsold albums.

1000K? Wouldn't 1M suffice? :) No kidding, either they wanted to stay consistent with their units, or they're afraid people would be confused with the M. It really doesn't make sense to me either. So today is the day of the first update!!! That should have a part in telling us if 1 million were in fact scanned or not..... (Drum roll please....)

I wouldn't put that much stock into projections for SuBo's album just yet. Who knows, her label may have to rush out more copies to stores if there's more demand than they're projecting.

I'm sooo excited.... I wouldn't call it a guarantee yet because we've seen country albums have disproportional first projections many many times... But this is incredibly exciting.
Also worth pointing out: Fearless has already almost reached what it sells in a typical week, with only 54% reported.

I'm thinking she'll fall short of the million mark (somewhere around 970-980k). Hopefully I'm wrong though! Either way, WOW.

^I highly doubt it.....I think at the highest, she'll sell like 1.05M. The sales market was way better back in 2000 than now.
