She'll probably just get dropped. I don't think these numbers even show any sign of the kind of potential she'd have recording something more current and radio friendly. They suggest a complete lack of interest. Timbaland better not! I wouldnt be surprised. I heard he wasnt too pleased that she did most of the album with darkchild. |

I think her Timbaland comeback in 2006 could have been any attractive female vocalist who had a pleasantly inoffensive voice.
She doesn't really have star quality to me but I like her spirit.

Just got around to listening to the album, and i actually quite like it...not as much as her prior efforts, but still very enjoyable. Sad about her terrible numbers :(

Unless you have a financial stake in Nelly Furtado's career, i would not lose any sleep over this.

I agree with this obviously but you repeating it over again whenever it is discussed is getting tiresome, especially considering the type of music board this is. It's not meant to be a fanboard and since it is based on chart-discussion, we'll discuss its chart relevance and our thoughts on it. To extend on sales being irrelevant to our enjoyment of the music, if sales are bad enough, it's possible Nelly might decide to not record music again? Extreme situation and example but otherwise it's natural that we want the music we like to do well and when it doesn't, we feel disappointment. I've no doubt that those of us who like the music we discuss on here will continue to like it no matter how much it flops. But in a setting like this, we're going to discuss it and that includes expressing our disappointment when what we like does poorly. |

She definitely has star quality. She has a unique voice, style and is an artist when it comes to creativity and artistry. Then she is very charming. She stands apart from the many generic pop acts out there in this music landscape.

I don't understand why they delayed her album in the first place.
If they stuck with that original June release date, she would've sold more.
Listening to her album on Spotify. "Bucket List" is really good, that should be a single.

Her complete lack of radio presence is what did her in. BH is a distant memory and there was no awareness of PL's existence prior to the album release.

Parking Lot is a JAM! I love it!! Not radio friendly at all though. And honestly I was unimpressed when Big Hoops came out. But this is ridiculous. Realistically ... how much will this sell overall??  |

^ :O Maybe there is hope for this era to be turned around! If she gets a decent sized hit, I could see TSI turning into a consistent seller. I would ideally release "Waiting for the Night" after "Parking Lot" if it were to become a hit.
