Fourth (and last?) radio release from Slash's debut album goes to all rock, CHR, and both Adult formats the week of November 28 from Billboard.biz. Honestly, this is one of three I skip on the disc. If I remember right, it's the most CHR-friendly track on the CD.

It is, but why do you skip it? I know it's Fergie and all, but she has AWESOME rock pipes! It's the third radio release from the CD. Glad it's getting released, although I don't expect it to do much. Weird that this is going for universal adds in the US while in Canada the current single is "Ghost" with Ian Astbury.

Ghost would be a much much much better option in my opinion. Not enough The Cult on radio anymore.

I guess Canada got it better. But as always, when this gets released here, it'll catch on in Canada, they'll stop playing "Ghost" and start playing this a lot. It seems radio stations here like Slash a lot more than you guys , since "Back From Cali" peaked/peaking at #8, while "By the Sword" made it to #4 I think.

Considering what GN'R did in Montreal back in '92 or whenever, I'm surprised he gets any airplay at all there.

The first time I heard this, my jaw dropped to the floor. I had no idea that there was a rock goddess inside Fergie. This song is all right, but I doubt that it'll get much airplay.

Times have changed Artie, that was 15-odd years ago, I think people have moved past that. Plus, it was mostly Axl's fault for appearing late, as usual.

Wow, look at Fergie. Who knew? This is Veruca Salt all over again. And it's awesome.

Artie (probably) says: I'm not sure who this Fergie girl is but I've never heard of her before.

Haha. Wasn't she in some 90's alt-rock band? Ednaswap or Letters to Cleo I think it was.

Yeah, I actually know that, which is quite worrying.

Fergie should definitely make a hard rock record for her next solo attempt

I'd laugh if Slash hired her as the new Velvet Revolver singer.

I'd laugh if Slash hired her as the new Velvet Revolver singer. That would actually be pretty awesome and different! Imagine, Fergie singing "Slither" and "Falls to Pieces"! (I can imagine it in my head, like heaven )

Fergie should definitely try rock again, because she sounds convincing doing it. This is infinitely better than "Fergalicious" and "Glamorous."

Fergie has performed with Slash, Heart, Mick Jagger, Debby Harry, and U2, I'm a huge BEP fan, but I'd definitely say that she needs to do rock more often... I'm interested in seeing how this song will do on this format due to Fergie being on this track.

This is what I've been waiting for. This is far better than that Gotten track and Fergie sounds great here, at least in the studio version. This got a few spins on Live 105 months back, although I don't think they ever officially added it.
Saw 'em do this live (as well as her singing on a cover of 'Barracuda' and alongside M. Kennedy on 'Paradise City'.) She was a bit of disappointment, though, mostly due to weak live vocals -- I don't like her but I was really hoping I'd be impressed by her.

So it's not the Duchess Of York? Oh well. Thought Slash was channeling his British heritage.
But seriously, strong vocals, agreed.

Didn't realize there was a music video out already for this. Push this to radio already and probably end the era.

^ No point pushing it to rock, it won't get played.
